This person seeks the truth and doesn't balk at making sacrifices for Jesus. I mean, let's face it, following Jesus involves givingup certain things. The person would also probably have to like travelling. I never seem to end up staying in one place very long. Hopefully it is God leading me in all this... yet I am as human as anyone and... well, whatever..

I'm not sure I am called to marriage and there is that psg in the Word about how a single person can serve God better than a married person. But still, it would be great to have someone to talk to.. someone who agrees w/ me on the important stuff.

Are you sure the main reason for marriage isn't sex? I mean, if it was for someone to talk to . . . there are billions in the world for that. Just a thought . . .

If you are looking for someone who likes travelling you might find them at the airport. Or train station. Usually theres a cafe or something there and you can talk to them there. Otherwise people dont really talk much on planes and bus and trains.

I dont know about the making sacrifices part. Sounds a bit bloody...lol

if they are carrying a huge backpack or trolley case thats blocking the doorway...maybe not. If someones lost their luggage or baggage and they might not be ok with it. Then you might find them at the 'lost and found' or baggage reclaim.

Just what sort of sacrifices for Jesus are you expecting this person to make? Give up porn, drunkeness, or other self destructive sins? Cooking dinner when you're both tired? Helping with housework and other chores? Live in a less safe and desirable neighborhood to facilitate a ministry to people in that area? Rarely go out to eat or spend money on entertainment so you have more to give to the poor and needy? Stay home to be homemaker and parent full time, or that this person will allow you to do that? Move to a dangerous developing country with poor infrastructure as missionaries? Sacrifice other events you may want to do together to be at church every time the doors are open? What about regularly fasting together, will that be part of the sacrifices you expect?

Rarely are people attracted by a strong emphasis on sacrificing and giving things up. Healthy people don't sacrifice to be sacrificial; they sacrifice because they recognize that B is so much more valuable than A that A is worth giving up for B.

sister just getting on a plane for a long haul flight for 22 hours.
I wouldnt myself but she likes travelling.

I mean she is giving up her own home land to live in smelly old London and sacrificing some of her luggage to go there. I cant say if that the people of London desperately need Jesus but they seem to need marketing gurus as it seems like they are quite rich people who have nothing better to do than spend lots of money on stuff from all over the world....to keep the economy going I guess. If they ddnt spend all their money, maybe the entire world will collapse.

Hey, I'm not really active here anymore, but I do pop in from time to time. Came across your post and felt prompted to respond.

Just wanted to say I totally get you and know what you mean ☺ Following Jesus, truly following Jesus does involve sacrifice. It involves dying to self and all that comes with it. It takes you, like Peter, to somewhere you wouldn't otherwise go...
Most people want to settle down, but sometimes following Jesus means forfeiting what others take for granted and call normal. I get you. You looking for someone with the same calling. Rather stay single than forfeit what God has called you to -- but heck, it would be nice to have someone to share the calling with. Yes, I totally get you. Just wanted to encourage you that He also understands where you're coming from and where your heart is at. Keep walking. Keep trusting ☺

I think the 'settling down' bit is different for a woman than a man, A woman might want to 'settle down' because building a nest requires an element of safety for any children. Women arent dumb...we know what children require.

If however, you dont intend on having children then world is your oyster. Thats what it comes down to.

us singles often have all the resources God has given us to carry out the work He requires us to do.
Thing is you havent said what is your calling or ministry is.

If you share what your minsitry is, then we might be able to help you or point you in the right direction.
