I guess this is the latest 'flash mob' attack only this time by governments. Ukraine, Venezuela, No.Korea ...
 
This is really sad. The Hispanic media has been reporting on it frequently though, I think the English speaking media is giving more attention to Ukraine. Maybe because Venezuela's relationship with the US wasn't that good? I don't know, but I hope all our Venezuelan CCers are okay. My prayers are with them.

There is a chance to go one up against Russia with Ukraine. The people pulling the media strings want attention on it. Venezuela is not seen as newsworthy by these serpents.
 
We also have to consider that a lot of attention is already being paid to that area of the world given Sochi.

I'm inclined to agree with Drett, but I also think some of it has to do with the fact that members of the Western media tend to sympathize with the Venezuelan regime.
 
the media in the u.s. only reports what it wants. it ain't the news anymore people. has not been for a long time. it is agenda-driven and entertainment based. it is not a report of what is happening.
 
Eh I think mainstream media has done an okay job covering the Three Uprising/Riots/Protests going on right now in Venezuela, Ukraine, and Thailand. At least CNN and foreign media anyways (I never really bother with FOX or NBC). All three present unique and challenging situations for sure. I think a lot more attention in Western Media is given to Ukraine because of the reason that it is exceptionally violent over there and has been going on for a while. Venezuela's uprising is fairly new by comparison and still in that sorta unknown stage as to how it will play out.

One common thing I noticed with all three these protests though is that the protestors themselves are quite angry and as such chaos ensues. This is not a good thing for either side the pro-government or protestor factions. I do agree that the people of these nations have right to protest, and in Venezuela particular they have a lot of legit gripe with the Maduro government. At the same time though violence is not a solution and threatens to unhinge these lands. If you are in Ukraine, Thailand, or Venezuela please stay safe!
