Adam was created spirit and body but many believed Adam was created with spirit, soul and body.
Ephesians 4 : 4
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
The book of Ephesians made us to understand that there is one body and one Spirit. Adam truly was created with one body (human flesh and blood) and one Spirit which is the human soul.
The human soul is also a spiritual being if you don't know. It is the human body which he carries that made it possible for him to function as a physical being. Any other spiritual being with a body would manifest physically.
The one spirit which was mentioned in the book of Ephesians is the human soul. The Spirit of God living in the man is not supposed to be the property of the man but was given to him for a purpose.
For life to exist, there must be a mind. All the human's feelings, desires, actions, will are made possible inside the human's mind and those are the characteristics of life. For anything to be alive, it must have a mind.
Adam was created with an active mind (soul) but God still allow His Spirit to live in him giving Adam two active minds living inside of him.
The man was created soul and body but when God gave His Spirit to him, he became Spirit, soul (a spirit on it's own) and human body.
Why did God gave His spirit to man?
The Spirit of God (mind) is given to fill the human mind (soul) with the knowledge of life which is of good and evil. The knowledge of good is a mind and it's a life and the knowledge of evil is also a mind and it's another life different from that of the good.
A school was created which is Eden and it is a place where the Spirit of God is to fill their soul mind with adequate knowledge of life before they are permitted to live on earth which was created for them.
Adam and his wife were in Eden being thought all about the knowledge of good and evil and how possible they can use the knowledge of good to conquer that of the evil.
God created all His works with the knowledge of good and He did that on purpose but Adam can't be like God if he only has the knowledge of good. God has both knowledge and for Adam to be like Him, he also must possess both knowledge.
God knew the knowledge of evil has death and all other horrible things He never wished for them so He created a school where they will be thought both knowledge and how to use the knowledge of good they have to defeat the evil just as God did.
God has both knowledge but He had conquered the evil with the good. This is a mystery but Adam and Eve failed their quest when they choose the short way of having both knowledge from the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil which they ate.
The fruit was planted their to give them their will to decide on what they wish to do for themselves. It was God's good decision that they should learn how to conquer the evil with the good but not Adam and Eve decision.. God have to give them a room to decide for themselves if truly they are creating in God's likeness. If no one decides for God, no one should decide for Adam not excluding God Himself.
