The New Apostolic Reformation is a complete SCAM!!!!!!!!!! A synopsis of the 'New Apostolic Reformation':

The New Apostolic Reformation (NAR) is a dominionist movement which asserts that God is restoring the lost offices of church governance, namely the offices of Prophet and Apostle.

Leading figures in this seemingly loosely organized movement claim that these prophets and apostles alone have the power and authority to execute God’s plans and purposes on earth. They believe they are laying the foundation for a global church, governed by them.

They place a greater emphasis on dreams, visions and extra-biblical revelation than they do on the Bible, claiming that their revealed teachings and reported experiences (e.g. trips to heaven, face-to-face conversations with Jesus, visits by angels) can not be proven by the ‘old’ Scripture

Here is a video clip that displays the leaders of the New Apostolic Movement: The False Apostles of the New Apostolic Reformation - Bing video

One of the first things a new group does is to appoint a pastor. That person is called"the pastor". Right away then, it is a cult. Only Jesus is the pastor. A local Church should simply have multiple pastors. It was that way in the beginning.

The New Apostolic Movement is on a par with other frauds like Benny Hinn.....etc........

Unfortunately they, like Benny Hinn, are attracting many from the Christian faith.

Do we know it's time of and place of origin?
C. Peter Wagner is recognized as the person who coined the term "New Apostolic Reformation." Wagner was the first modern-day writer to write about the movement.

The go-to source for the best information on the NAR is A New Apostolic Reformation? A Biblical Response to a Worldwide Movement by R. Douglas Geivett and Holly Pivec. Pivec has also done a lot of interviews which are available on YouTube. Some of these are very good.

Pivec and Douglas write in their book:

"Though called the New Apostolic Reformation, the movement’s teachings are not really new. Fringe groups attempting to restore the offices of apostle and prophet have been around for a long time. These have included the Irvingites of the 1830s and the Apostolic Church of the early 1900s. Apostles and prophets also surfaced in the African Independent Churches movement, which began around 1900."
There's a footnote attached to this which says:

"[C. Peter] Wagner states that NAR’s 'deepest roots' are found in the African Independent Church Movement, which began around 1900. He believes other 'significant connections' can be found in the Chinese House-Church movement, beginning around 1976, and the Latin American grassroots churches, which, he says, became prominent around 1980."

A defining of such is needed.
Anyone?
It's a little difficult to define this movement exactly because it's organized very loosely and their teachers often contradict one another and even themselves. But I can think of three that really stand out as unBiblical:

1. The NAR believes the offices of apostle and prophet have been restored; however, the New Testament doesn't teach that "apostle" or "prophet" were ever recognized offices in the church. How can something be restored that never was to begin with?

2. They teach that modern-day prophets exercise the same authority as Old Testament prophets. However, contradicting themselves they say New Testament prophets aren't to be held to the same standard as Old Testament prophets. That is to say, they may prophesy falsely from time to time but rather that face the same penalty as OT prophets (death) it's okay because we're under "grace."

3. Modern-day apostles function in tandem with prophets. They get their direction from the same prophets who occasionally prophecy falsely.

They also "prophecy" that there is a coming global shift in church politics. No more will congregations function independently, under the guidance of pastors and elders, but a pyramid of sorts will be put into place with apostles and prophets at the top overseeing every church body on earth. How they intend to set up a system of accountability remains to be seen.

I have never heard of this movement and don't know anything about them but a movement I think we could use is for someone to take charge and make a movement that creates biblical sound students and apostles teachers and diciples and if they have the gift even prophets, the church has become divided and goes in every which way someone needs to take charge and lead it in the right direction again a movement like this would be a good start

Excellent notable...but, it will never happen....for several reasons;

New bibles....since the 1960's with distorting and slanted writings...with new interpretations in attempt to insert ...great delusions into the Christian community...example...here concerning baptism...when clear language is our guide....

Adding new wrongful interpretations ...consuming the time of convicted Christians debating against...to help...newbies understand proper Bible interpretations reflecting God's intent....taking away from advancing the proper understanding of God;s word for salvation.
Etc.

This attack on God's sovereign word will intensify as we proceed down the end times. The disagreement between the leftist and the right will only grow. Look at it now versus...a few years ago.

Example...: pre 1960's there was no such recorded teaching of ...baptism not necessary...

Need for baptism is satisfied by child birth in water....not so...it is amniotic fluid....

Universalism...everyone will be saved...

OSAS...once saved always saved....so on and so on,
many others.

Yes sadly it is true that because of the division and the many and i mean many different interpretations of every subject known in scripture it is of course nothing but a dream and because of all the false teachers misleading and misguiding everyone this makes matters even worse for the cause it's really just amazing how greatly the enemy has divided and separated the church

You make one important point!!!!!!!!!!! Christians who read the Bible are depending on the 'footnote explanations' of Scripture provided by different distributors of different Bibles. These readers take the 'footnote explanations' as being God's word and they are not, just someone's opinion. And often, those that provide the footnotes have an agenda, their own agenda.

We already have way too many "leaders" as it is. We need fewer leaders and more servants.

The NAR has their own television network: GOD TV. All you have to do is go there and see all the people who are affiliated with the NAR, however loosely.

NAR Connections is another excellent resource.

...and the bastardization of God's word...continues.

We haven't seen anything yet...the end times are here...big time.

Very true.

The more reason we...God's witnesses...must do all we can to prevent the impact on the vulnerable.

I speak from my own experience of it in the UK back in the 60s and 70s. It had more than one name, the other prominent one being the Restoration Movement as many churches were being restored to a more biblical experience of church. One of the aspects of the movement was the reintroduction of biblical leadership with Apostles and male Elders.

In addition the reintroduction of the priesthood of all believers so meetings were open for anyone to contribute. Like many aspects of church life various groups had their particular emphasis, but it tended to bring growth and vibrancy to the church without the excesses of Pentecostalism.

It was noticeable that the major leaders of the movement were ex Brethren Elders who had experienced the baptism in the Spirit and spoke in tongues. Their Brethren Assembly would not accept the experience as genuine so they were given an ultimatum. Give it up or leave. They left and started up a fellowship in their home which grew and grew and became full fledged churches.

The one I went to was just like that. it started with three people in an ex Brethren Elders home and became know through the country because of its freedom in worship and the miraculous. People used to visit it from all over the country.
