Does your church teach you? That would be your view point more then likely. I would say you do not believe in anyone being a modern day prophet or ppl even using the gift of prophecy.
Right. Did I say I attended church growing up? You assume and parrot your responses.

I believe full well in spiritual gifts given by by God through His Spirit. That alone has made me well aware of all the fakery and nonsense that passes for that gift today.

A so called modern day prophet would not be in contradiction to the timeless and always truthful word of our Creator.

For the record, I have long ago left the doctrines of the church I grew up in because they believe the Holy Spirit is an addendum to our walk in Christ rather than the empowering life teacher, instructor, helper who also regenerates and baptizes us into the body of our Savior. He also comforts, fills us with joy and peace, and more and we are commanded to be filled with Him.

Handle the truth and the real power which is never given for self aggrandizement and you will be able to discern and refute the lies no matter how wonderful they may sound.

I would and do say that you are going to get your nose out of joint with the lack of understanding you are displaying here in defense of words that do not agree with the Great I Am.

back way or do you just see you won? You have done nothing to prove my statement wrong. Your response made you look like you do not have the love of God in you. Attacking people looks that way.

Well the way I worded it was meant as an open idea not as a fact as Niki suggest.
The way you worded it was to say you know how people were raised or their experiences.

"because you was raised with it"
"You do not believe because you have not seen"

The last line being ironic since one of the most important aspects of being a Christian is faith. Belief without seeing. Yet here it is flipped. You don't believe because you haven't seen.

My first years as a Christian were in Pentecostal/Charismatic places. They all taught modern prophets and all those teachings. The thing that made me stop believing in it all Was those people. As well as my own experiences. Also discussions with people then and people who were in it as well, since then. Those discussions further reinforced my belief it doesn't happen anymore. Not like they try to teach it, anyways. But surely you knew that already.

yeah ok. I see that whiny response and raise you two.

just because you have differing view point because you was raised with it does not mean you know everything God has and is doing. You do not believe because you have not seen.
just a little accusatory...but far be it from me to remind you of how you began to try and tell me I am not a believer in anything but a church you believe was wrong

and who can forget this?

Does your church teach you? That would be your view point more then likely. I would say you do not believe in anyone being a modern day prophet or ppl even using the gift of prophecy.
and you would be wrong. it's ok. I understand how important it is for you to believe everything you think and believe must by its very nature be sourced directly from heaven. Where did I get that idea from? From the small bio you provided in your profile:

If you are interested in talking ( put not in a dating way) to a guy that is supernaturally interactive with the Holy Spirit let me know.

I am guessing that you may believe that being supernaturally interactive with the Holy Spirit is a step above most of us mere mortals here?

Please refrain. You have already shown that you are not supernaturally anything but just another person who thinks they have some special anointing to tell the rest of us which way is up.

I'm not going to answer you in this thread again as your claims are without merit

A lesson that doesn't come without disappointment, disillusionment and even questioning if it's all made up

I always believed in God even through the worst examples of how not to practice being a follower of Christ. It's the people.

you knew the answer before asking. You sound like you admit that you do not believe in the gift of prophecy. Also sounded like Nikki believed that too from how see responded to Blaine.

The Texas Sharpshooter Fallacy
This fallacy gets its colorful name from an anecdote about a Texan who fires his gun at a barn wall, and then proceeds to paint a target around the closest cluster of bullet holes. He then points at the bullet-riddled target as evidence of his expert marksmanship.

Well I do believe that God speak to those that believe and want to hear through faith in the Holy Spirit.
Are you more like how I believe. It sounds like you believe in that from your first response to my statement. Many people clam to hear God and call themselves prophets, but you can still discern it by their fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Let's just say I do not believe Acts is simply a transitional book. But I also do not believe in the current state of what passes for prophecy or the hordes who declare themselves to be a prophet.

That's all.

Please define 'effeminate' as you understand it.
Hillsong is pretty much a picture perfect definition of it. Hippie love, no judgment, no holiness, dressing like the world, singing like the world, acting like the world, just wannabe worldly rock stars basically. Some effeminate guys you would see in a fashion magazine or in an LGBT rally. Then again, it makes sense as a lot of these Hillsong worship leaders have come out as gay so....

We are in the same boat. I am in the rejected by all boat lol.

I am not a cessationist, I don't see in the Bible that these gifts were to only last one generation, but until Jesus comes back and we see Him face to face.

On the other hand, I am also not a "hyper-charismatic" who is babbling in tongues and rolling on the floor barking and laughing hysterically, I don't believe thats a move of God, never was never will be. More like Corinthian chaos. All things are to be done orderly in the Church as the NT instructs us.

There is a good sermon on this, unfortunately its not available in english, but the sermon is called "from over heating to under cooling" basically it means that there are some who are in this prosperity hyper-charismatic preaching and when they realize its false and they get hurt in the movement or something doesn't happen that they believed in, they will often times leave the faith completely.... OR they will become Calvinists who usually are very cessationist, so they go from extreme to another extreme. There is a fine balance to be had here.

I know I have once again disappeared for a good while and for those who have wondered or worried I will say that my health is at an all time low and I struggle just to do the most simple tasks my eyes sadly are not getting better either so I have had to take time away from cc as it became to painful to to my eyes to be on here

However this also is a time where God and I come together and grow closer and it was during this period that I recieved many things rom him and one of the things was the new generation.
Now many years back even when I was new to salvation I would always say that God is creating for himself a new generation of his children those who would love and devote themselves to him with only the greatest love and affection that these people would walk in his spirit and power and love unlike anything even the apostles experienced. I never knew why I said this and I honestly would often question myself as back then I gave prophetic utterances without even realizing it.

Some would say I was a prophet but I would instantly reject the notion as I hold the role and title of a prophet in very high regard and didn't see myself as worthy of such a thing yet he taught me and revealed what a prophet really is what their role in the church and kingdom really is and it isn't what all these so called prophets you see think it is.

I am a prophet but I also am not as I was never any one thing for him I am not special or chosen I am simply willing that is the only reason I would validated at all.

I have been spending time with him in my current situation and he reminded me of these words I spoke and as usual I was quick to dismiss it but he kept bringing it to my memory and I looked at my life and noticed the pattern of how I would say things and they would eventually come to pass so I asked him about this generation and went into my state of worship with him. it was in the joy and life of lifting my heart and soul to him in praise and worship that suddenly he said this is the key and this is the generation that will come forth.

The generation that is coming is going to be one of worship they will bring the kingdom through worship in spirit and in truth mountains and giants who would oppose them will fall to ashes before them not by power or might but by worship

There are some of you who jave felt that you were called to something more that your waiting for a calling of amazing stature in the kingdom you have felt something is coming for a while now always waiting always looking for it yet it hasn't come yet.
This can be very discouraging and perhaps you have noticed a difference in the attacks from the enemy almost an uncanny series of struggles and internal issues all the while you keep looking up you keep fighting even if barely

I am here to tell you lift your spirits because this is all by design it is no accident or coincidence you have had to deal with so much compared to others. The devil is scared of you he knows what you can and will become and should you ever walk in those shoes even hell itself would have no choice but to submit to you.

You are going to be a part of this generation and make no mistake this isn't simply revival, no this is a game changer an entirely new thing that he has cleaverly hidden from the eyes and understanding of many but there is a still small voice that speaks to those who would listen it is the reason that you can feel something coming that you feel a higher calling not really knowing what it is or how to describe it

You can believe me or not it doesn't change the outcome this is happening no if ands aor buts

Good to hear from you again, Blain! But sorry to hear your health is not good. I spent my COVID years on RA meds that weren't working, it got to a point where I could do nothing. So I understand a bit of where you are at! But, last year I changed meds. However, although the new biologic was working, I was recovering from COVID, which almost killed me. I'm start to have a bit more energy, I think the long COVID is almost done. But I am weak, out of shape and a mess. But I have not given up hope, and I hope you won't either. God is in control remains what I cling to!!

As far as the prophecy, I imagine you would know I don't agree with you, like others. Time for you to study theology. Then the obviously wrong ideas in your OP could be dealt with immediately. You can go on prophesying things that are wrong, or learn more about God's word, and how things work together to be theology, the study of God. I would advise you to renounce these false prophecies, and figure out for yourself how they conflict with scripture. I realize this is difficult with bad eyes, so maybe switch to audio Bible and audio books. Theology is really hard! But you do have a heart for God, which you have always had! He will help you find the materials you need. Try investigating the "Now and the not yet" of the Kingdom of God. That would be a good start in understanding where you have gone wrong.

I don't come here often, I still need a lot more sleep than in years past, and I've developed other interests. I will pray for you to grow in wisdom and grace! God bless! And I hope we will see each other around CC!

yes

just because you have differing view point because you was raised with it does not mean you know everything God has and is doing. You do not believe because you have not seen.
Nor do you know everything I believe. This post demonstrates that.

I am so glad to hear from you again I was so worried and had no idea what happened to you but I just kept hoping that you would come back when you were ready.
And yeah how you described your health is pretty much how I feel I look scary thin now too.
And yes as soon as I saw you responded I knew you would disagree and you know the respect I have for you if amything I have always seen you as my unofficial mentor and normally I would completely agree with you but God has been far to interactive on the path he and I have taken the mere fact that he has actually manifested in my room several times when I responded to him calling me to come on here and do all this is just to much evidence to deny for me.

This is in no way comfotable or easy for me I normally would never go around saying the strange things I have but it was either that or disobey him as every time I say things like this it is not on a whim or a feeling I hear him calling me to do so and as I said before I never know what is going to be wirtten I just start typing and the words flow out so much so I actually have to try type very fast.

But This is a new training session for me he called me from one stage of my faith to one that is higher and deeper and upon starting this journey I saw the word of God differently as if really seeing it for the first time yet still not really seeing it. I questioned the different doctrines and understanding the constant division in the word and the body of Christ and I refused to accept it I wanted the truth and only the truth I didnt want to consider my views or understanding nor anyone elses no doctrine no stance on this verse or that one just the truth so I went directly to Jesus himself I understood that I was not ready to recieve the actual truth even if I studied because I didn't have the level of closeness with him yet I was still on a lower level where he was calling me up to his.

So as much as I respect you and hope you are not disappointed me I simply have to follow him even if it means this

I believe in my heart you've had a calling from God, and God has spoken through your heart, @Blain,.

God has used people to direct, paths, The fruits of the spirit will also speak from Heart, and i feal there is fruit coming from your heart, and a real conviction to act,

The internet has no conscience in my opinion, regardless of how well we express our conscience there will never be a God of Google. Or the internet, as free will of a machine can not recieve the fruits of the spirit lol.

How ever your calling can be worthy to speak to people stuck in side the internet worshipping the God of Google which doesn't act accordingly, or maybe God could have plans for you to go out into the world also, and you will be healed befor you do so.

I believe also your calling could be for people not acting upon the word and a calling For Christians who have spent time believing in the Word to go out into the world, and speak to those people more who haven't had many kind words spoken to them.

It's a pleasure and an honour to be in your presence as it is with any Christian, and I look forward to hearing God speaking through your heart some more,

A person can utter all the prophecy they want, but if it isn't backed up by God's word it's useless. If we're going to have prophets who can proclaim things that are extra-Biblical, why do we even need the Bible? This seems to be where it's heading actually. Right now "prophets" pick and choose which parts of the Bible and relevant and which ones can be superseded by their prophecy. Or they make up interpretations of scripture that are far out in left field. The next step will be to toss out God's word in favor of so-called prophets.

If someone utters prophetic truth that is Biblically-based I'll listen to them; otherwise it goes in one ear and out the other and they get a "wolf in sheep's clothing" label stamped on their forehead.

The prophecies of all prophecies is one Day this world will be in full the Kingdom of God,
Which I read was the purpose of Blain's calling.

I would just like to Suggest that also a prophet is also somebody God uses to speak through,

Just because God has not revealed a new prophesy through Blain.
It doesn't mean he has not been chosen to be a prophet, but he could be given the gift of prophecy to speak to an individual about future events that can prevent people from becoming born again in there life through the fruits of the holy spirit, which is biblical.

Where told that one of the first fruits that can be given to a born again Christian is the Gift of prophesy, and for God to speak to those none converts about the prophecies.

This sounds biblical to me.

I read blain has felt More lately that God is speaking through his heart like God would through a prophet.

At least thats how I understood blain.
