The world under consideration in this scripture is not the world in John 14:17 - Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him, but ye knoweth him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

The world that is under consideration in this scripture is the world of believers who have the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

John 15:19 - If ye were of the world, the world would love his own, but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 17:9 - I pray for them. I pray not for the world, but to them which thou hast given me, for they are thine.

1 John 2:15 - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

The world mentioned in John 3:16 is also the world of believers, not the wicked world of non-believers.

The particularity of redemption is not in the atonement, the particularity is in who God allows to come believingly to Christ.

Jesus death was a sacrifice to redeem those that God gave to him by his shed blood on the cross. Titus 2:14 - Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

The unregenerate cannot believe in the things of the Spirit,(1 Cor 2:14) until God quickens him to a new spiritual life -Eph 2:1-5.

Your Hyper Calvinistic hobbyhorse does not hunt. The atonement only avails those who choose to come to Jesus. It is a fact that God has foreknowledge. That simply means that He knows who will choose Him.

The inspired word of God was written as instructions to God's born again children informing them as to how he wants them to live their lives as they sojourn here on earth. They are not instructions as to how the unregenerate can get delivered eternally.
You better read the inspired word of God again, and again, and again, etc. if you think it's only for "God's born again children".

Just to be accurate, it doesn't say what God foreknew, but who He foreknew. The foreknowledge is of the person and not their choice.
I leave each person to make of this what they will, but we needn't change the scripture to suit our theology but our theology is subject to the scripture.

God's foreknowledge:

Psalms 53:2-3, God looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, that did seek God. Every one of them is gone back, they are altogether become filthy, there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

The scriptures say He taketh away the sins of the whole world.

What I would like others to do, is to give book, chapter and verse with their comments.

Does he take away the sins of the following worlds?

John 14:17 - Even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him, but ye know him, for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

John 15:18 - 19, If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his mown, but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 16:20 - Verly, verly, I say unto you, that ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice, and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall turn into joy.

John 17:14 - I have given them the word, and the world hateth them.

1 John 2:15 - Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world, If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

There is world of wicked people, and there is a world of believers.

I have listed several scriptures that describe the world of the wicked, and here are a few scriptures that describe the world of believers;

1 John 2:2 - And he is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

John 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 4:42 - We know that this is indeed the Christ. The Saviour of the world.

You better read it again, with the correct Greek interpretation of the words salvation=a deliverance, saved=delivered, save=deliver.

There is a deliverance from this world into eternal heaven, and there are many deliverances that the child of God receives as he sojourns here on earth.

Often a believer can become confused about ...... "Salvation" ..... and how its offered and how its applied.
BOY HOWDY!!!! Is that ever true!!!! There's more versions of "Getting saved" that Carter has Liver Pills!!!! From "just getting baptized", to "reciting a prayer," etc.

FAITH, is what God requires of you, to give you His "Gift of Grace" that is "the Gift of Salvation" ...which is given to redeem you from your sin, and give you eternal life.
And Eph 2:8,9 reveals that "Saving FAITH" is gifted by God. "Biblical Faith" IS NOT something that a human can generate on their own. "Conviction of SIN and of Judgement" by the Holy Spirit is typically how it starts. God by the Holy Spirit up front and personal shows you your TRUE STATUS Spiritually, and what your final destination is if you don't do something about it. Ideally y'll Surrender to HIM and REPENT of your SIN, calling out to HIM for the SIN OFFERING of Jesus to be yours by FAITH.

"Belief" (mental assent) isn't "Faith" at all. Referencing Heb 11:1, "Belief" has no SUBSTANCE at all, and Is evidence of NOTHING except how you feel at the time. "Belief" has to be held on to, and defended.

Biblical FAITH, on the other hand HOLDS ON TO YOU, and provides its OWN defense.

THEN you can take Jesus' YOKE upon you, and begin to LEARN OF HIM, now that your "Spiritual Eyes" have been opened, and God's kingdom is visible.

Apparently you cannot read

Not only ours... but ALSO for the sins of THE WHOLE WORLD.
No no you see, you are performing "eisegesis" as they say.

See if you look at the greek and the verb tenses and the historical context and stuff, the exegesis comes out to say this:

"Not for our(believers) sins only, but also the sins of the whole world [of believers]"

See there you go. All you had to do was add something to the Bible and now the doctrine makes sense. The non-elect just dont get it

It is the very same word in every case, as shown in post #406 above. So you
are the one improperly reading and failing to grasp what is plainly written.

You are making no sense. Being saved (from sin), regenerated, being born again are the same thing. A nonbelieving person or agnostic can read the bible, become a believer, and also understand how to be saved/born again/regenerated, if you choose to use that word, etc. The word of God is powerful and can convince as well as instruct one how to save their soul; the bible also has many other applications as well. But for sure it wasn't only intended for those already saved.

The unregenerate person will not come to ask for help in in accomplishing a spiritual commandment of a spiritual God (1 Cor 2:14).

Salvation, according to Greek translation means "a deliverance". The born again, child of God is the only person that will ask a spiritual God for help in accomplishing his spiritual laws. (1 Cor 2:14). There is a deliverance here in time when a child of God obeys God's commandments.
What does that have to do with what I posted?

Verse 2 : 1 John 2:2.... """ And Jesus is the Payment, is the Sacrifice, for the SIN of the WHOLE WORLD".

The Whole world could not be referencing all of mankind, because in John 6:39 it says that he only died for those that God gave him.

What does that have to do with what I posted?

It has to do with your post # 374, in which you are giving the natural man the ability to trust in the spiritual things that Jesus taught.

Your quote from your post # 374; "the natural man can't ever have a true understanding until he completely abandons his natural understanding and trusts in the Lord Jesus Christ"

The natural man cannot abandon his natural understanding (1 Cor 2:14) until God, by his sovereign grace, quickens him to the new spiritual birth, while he is still dead to spiritual things (Eph 2: 1-5).
