If you feel like you have been attacked for being encouraged to study the Word of God more then that's unfortunate. Most Christians take that as an encouragement, but I guess I am not dealing with most Christians here. Those looking to be offended will find a way be offended.
Dont reframe that also.
Nobody here is attacking or being attacked.
You really cant reconcile your position, can you?

You got to get all personal with it.
Grab a bible and go concept vs concept.

Nobody needs to get into some personal emotional mode.
Just debate.
Don't worry about any of your self ascribed superiority.

We can all see your superiority.

You do not become the Bride of Christ in Heaven - false 'pre-trib' doctrine of demons.
Mr wonderful, when does a Betrothed woman become a Bride in full? Yes, she's a Virgin (hopefully so, in the real world) but she only becomes a Bride when the Groom Marries her, do you not understand this simple equation? Before that she is only Betrothed, and if she becomes DEFILED the Groom has a right to not Marry her!! This is why they waited 9 months in the Jewish tradition before the Marriage, to ensure she did not defile herself, then do a quickie wedding to try and cover up the defilement.

Rev. 19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. (the Bride has to make it to the Wedding first)

The part you are missing is the Purification process the Bride has to go through in order to become the Wife.

The Ceremonial Purification of the Bride
Jewish Wedding - The next step for the Bride after she is betrothed is a ceremonial cleansing. In Biblical times the Bride would use a Mikvah, which was pool of water, in which she would immerse herself.

Church - Acts 2:41 – “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized (immersed); and that day about three thousand souls were added [to them].”

This is a sign that the woman is attesting to being a pure virgin. If she lays with another man the agreement is off, of course. Likewise, if any person turns back unto this evil world, they will lose the Holy Spirit (Oil) and they will not be taken to the Wedding of the Lamb.

A lot of people will be surprised when the Lord says Depart from me for I never knew you. If you haven't got it by now you probably won't.

The power of the Holy Spirit went out of Jesus, but a percentage of the Holy Spirit didn't leave Jesus. That's not what you originally asserted. In the parable of the ten virgins, if the oil is the Holy Spirit then you're saying the Holy Spirit can decrease and that just doesn't make sense.
I think part of the problem is when we tried to carve in stone a dynamic that is multifaceted and we see someone try to make a single truth out of a multifaceted truth. It would be Akin 2 Jesus being all those things listed in Isaiah, Plus in heaven, where he's called a lion and a lamb in the same breath, and someone try to saying " no he can't be all those things , it can be one of those things, but it can't be all of those things." If someone wants to go there and carve just one of those things in stone, which I see you trying to do here in this parable, there's not going to be a whole lot of worthy production out of that.

Yeah the bible is now corrected.
Nothing went out of Jesus when the woman with the issue of blood was healed.
Mark 5:30
30And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

This says that virtue went out of Jesus when He was touched. This is not the Holy Spirit (God) leaving Jesus. The word virtue here is power or force.

To understand this, you need to know how miracles occur. Miracles occur through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Consider the following verses.

Romans 15:19
19Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

1 Cor. 2:4
4And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

1 Thess. 1:5
5For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

yes
It is like the oil in the lamp.

We never see all of it leave in a giant flash, siphoned out in a split second.

Are you trying to make a tiny portion leaving Jesus into " well it can't be the power of the Holy Spirit"?
It says" virtue went out"
What went out?

What went into Jesus?
When?

I don't need that changed. Nor do i need what went out of Him changed.

Your missing that our ceremonial cleansing takes place in our heart/mind/soul by the cleansing Blood of Christ and the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

The Lord Jesus christ says: Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

satan says 'did God really say HE is coming after the Tribulation? .....Pssst pre-trib rapture

I explained everything I think in post #1:

https://christianchat.com/bible-dis...he-ten-virgins-explained.202212/#post-4690612

I also might add that, after much discussion, @ewq1938 has pointed out that the oil is faith. I think the oil being faith sounds very reasonable, but I'm still sorting out if I think faith fits better than forgiveness or if faith and forgiveness are linked.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for... I searched symbols of hope and retrieved an article listing the olive tree as a (Christian) symbol of hope, in accordance to the account of the dove retrieving an olive branch to Noah, with the number one (universal) symbol listed as 'shining light.' I think this is relevant to olive oil being used to fuel lamps in that time.

1Ti 4:1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;

Loosing faith will cause a departure from the faith and the timeframe of the parable of the ten virgins is placed in the latter or end times near the second coming.

1Ti 4:2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1Ti 4:3 Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.
1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.
1Ti 4:6 If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.

Remain in the nourishment of words of faith and good doctrine and you are of the wise virgins. Lose faith and accept bad doctrine and you will become a foolish virgin.

I think I can tie a loss of faith to losing both forgiveness and Holy Spirit so somewhat being able to relate those things to the oil but not specifically as being the oil:

Lose your faith and you will lose God's forgiveness.

Act 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.

The foolish virgins started in light, but found themselves in darkness. Only in the light is there forgiveness so losing faith will lead one to darkness where there is no forgiveness.

Lose your faith and you will lose the Holy Spirit.

1Th_4:8 He therefore that despiseth, despiseth not man, but God, who hath also given unto us his holy Spirit.

Psa_51:11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

The Holy Spirit can be given and can be taken away.

1Th 3:10 Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face, and might perfect that which is lacking in your faith?

Some people have a lack of faith and if that condition gets worse then that partial faith can disappear and be likened to oil that ran out, burned up, leaving nothing left.

If salvation is by works, then why did Christ have to die..........."even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace. And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work."

And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, 2in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, 3among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

4But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
9not of works, lest anyone should boast.
10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
Jesus brought grace when he came in the flesh, but example of grace was in the days of Noah. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (Genesis 6:8), And Noah and his family was saved. Now Paul said in (Rom. 3:23-25) (v.23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (v.24) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: (v.25) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. So the bible tells you to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." (Acts 2 :36-38). And by doing so you come up under his precious blood and then you are saved from your sins that are past, not present or future sins but for sins that are past. We were all locked under death by Adam’s sin, even the second death. But when Jesus became (he was God in the beginning) man and died for the sins of the world, he gave us access back to the tree of life (himself) which Adam had caused us to lose. That’s what grace is, our free gift our access back to the tree of life but that’s another lesson for another time.

So by coming under the blood of Jesus you are saved from your past sins. And if you are saved now, it is on a day to day basis. Because for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God (Romans 23:3), and if you continue to live you will sin again. It is the willful sinning that you need to put in check. For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. (Hebrew 10: 26, 27)

Paul told you to; (2Tim. 2:15) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, (not man) a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. You must rightfully divide the word of God, you must find out where every thing fits because fit it does.

Once you learn and understand that there are two different types of death, laws and works, that Paul talks about then you will better understand Paul's writing.

For us who are saved by the Grace of God thru the shed Blood of Christ, the law has been put to death when it was nailed to the cross.
There is no working for salvation, to do so would be working on the Sabbath and all who work on the Lord's Sabbath will be put to death = John 3:16-18

There are works that we are to walk in that have been prepared by God beforehand for us.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. 8For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9not of works, lest anyone should boast. 10For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

We are the lamp.
The oil is the fuel.
No fuel...no illumination.
The lamp needs regular refueling.
Jesus said " it is expedient (necessary) that i leave. I will send the Holy Spirit. ( the infilling)..

It would take a lot to just try to erase all the beauty of the power that Jesus Himself Gave to the believer.

To think the driving ingredient , and fuel of illumination, to people in here CAN NOT POSSIBLY BE THE HOLY SPIRIT.

Shows me who i am really dealing with.

No Holy Spirit

Best reasons why the oil is the not the Holy Spirit in the parable of the ten virgins:

1. Jesus doesn't use parables of known sins to exemplify wisdom and righteousness. Trying to buy the Holy Spirit, per Acts 8:18-23, is a sin.

2. The Holy Spirit is God and is infinite. God's Holy Spirit doesn't decrease like oil in a lamp and then need to be refilled.

3. There are no Biblical examples of needing to continually refill your Holy Spirit to be prepared for Jesus to come. This teaching exists no where in scripture.

4. Ephesians 1:13-14 say that believers are stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit, a promise of salvation and guarantee.of an inheritance. Making the oil the Holy Spirit that can be lost results in a broken promise/guarantee in Ephesians 1:13-14, but God cannot lie.

My week' meditation is on being 'stamped with the seal of the Holy Spirit' which brings up the vision of the seven seals which no one could open except for the Lamb, and trying to imagine how anyone could actually be able to 'break the seal' if at all possible in the former case. It is noted that this term, seal, is thought to allude to a practice of receiving a religious tattoo, if so in that case, the removal would have to be unmistakably, purposefully. and totally intentional
