denial, oh my, the great savior of self.....

some of the most valuable and life-saving experiences in our precious lives that our heavenly Father
has given to us is the moments of 'self-illumination', where He graces us with a pure look
at ourselves and at our hearts....

the wake-up-calls can be painful, especially when we were so convinced that we had it ALL RIGHT.....

I don't know about you all, but some of my HELLO MOMENTS were pretty painful when my
great-savior-denial-fled...it abandoned ship and now I'm sitt'in here on realities tears...
but, if we accept our wrong-thinking - mistakes, how we can grow and mature into
that perfect man.....

real humbleness can break your heart, especially when you think all of your conceptions are right,
and then God puts in front of you, a great big capitalized - WRONG.....

Except when men argue for right and wrong there is always a little piece of ego involved....when God argues for right and wrong it's for our own good and His glory and His glory isn't about ego...it just is.

And hopefully we still hold to a right and wrong even though sometimes we may be wrong.
 
Definition of antinomian. 1 : one who holds that under the gospel dispensation of grace the moral law is of no use or obligation because faith alone is necessary to salvation. 2 : one who rejects a socially established morality.


Is that our only 2 choices? Antinomian or legalist? Doesn't Paul say that those who are of the works of the law are under the curse?

So we are either antinomian or legalist... I suppose I am antinomian then. Unless I am mis-understanding what antinomian is...

Those are two opposites of biblical grace. Redefining biblical precepts e.g. 'Homosexuality as ok' to make it acceptable to a modern culture is just ONE example.

so it is sort of like the roman church instituting paganistic beliefs to their christian doctrines, and changing the names and ideas to make them appear more christian, so they can get their pagan citizens (of rome) who were the majority, to follow their new found religion to follow Christ

thus become legalistic antimonians.. (rules get you to heaven, but we can sin the sin the pagans do as much as we want. )

I say lets just stick to the word and stop trying to name things,, then there will be no confusion.

And that is like saying "sin is ok" but if you reprove the greasy gracers of sin, then you are labeled a "legalist." LOL :)

  1. the condition of without law
  2. because ignorant of it
  3. because of violating it
  4. contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness

    this is Strongs 459G. - from the verse MATT. 7:23.

    'Depart from Me you that work 'anomia' for I never knew you.'

That's interesting. A lot of us would say the same thing..... Yet, we so often demand that others tell us "what they are" or "where they stand"in respect to this or that. Why? Probably so we can label them in our thinking.

It would be better if we just said, tell me what you believe. And not label them.

then again, if I am honest, I label a legalist a legalist, So I guess I am just as guilty..

which just goes to prove, we all need Christ, He would not make such mistakes..

I hate labels as well. In the negative sense they are words designed to carry a negative connotation concerning another persons point of view as well as their character and value as a human being. It's like taking sticky notes with super glue and applying them all over another persons body in the hope that they will internalize....it's really the same as murder. It's manipulation on a pretty sinister level. Not saying that I haven't been guilty of it myself. I try not to engage in it but call it out when I see it. Sinful fickle self deceptive little sinners we are.
 
you should be over-joyed ET, you have hit a wall and hopefully are scaling it....

labels are something that we are taught from a very young age to use carnally - instead of our
God-given-discernment...
over-coming the world's ways are our proof that we acknowledge the Price that has been
paid for us...

We are all guilty. Even if we never say it, we are often thinking... "Oh, you're one of THOSE."

THEY and THEM are words we LOVE!

I have to repent, and try to figure another way of showing a person who denys eternal security there error. without calling them legalists..

Thanks, I will probably fail. But I admit here in front of God and the room, I have sinned,, and done what I tell everyone else they should stop doing (like using names and terms)

I will go to time out now!
 
I've found that it is much more effective to just say if you don't like something in plain language without denigrating someone. When you did or said I felt whatever it is I felt. If you lash out it just proves that on some level you have internalized what another person has said...had a painful feeling based on what they said... and then reacted based on the painful feeling....not very Christlike nor is it indicative of a person who is adept at responding based on the truth.


***Edit*** I am practicing this....it is hard to do sometimes and sometimes I fail. Especially in face to face situations.
