As our country celebrates it's independence (which I'm incredibly thankful for, and grateful that God allowed me to live here), I've noticed over the last year or so that I'm having a hard time saying the pledge of allegiance to a flag and a country. Obviously, my true allegiance is to my God above everything else. Perhaps its a form of double-mindedness and a small example of idolatry?

Anyone else ever consider this concept or have any thoughts on it?
 
It does say ''one nation under God'' begging the question, ''which god'' since America now claims multi-whatever.
I suppose whatever is not of faith (can't be done with a clear conscience) is sin applies here.

. maybe the pledge of allegience and looking at the flag is some rare breed of sin

...if you must make such pledges; always qualify them by placing a 'rider' on them --- ie: say 'subject to the Will and Principles of the Most High God' ... if not openly - then additionally under your breath ...

...best of all avoid making them. I know exactly what you mean...
