2Peter 1:4 'Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust'.

2Cor 7:1 'Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God'.

Heb 6:10-12 'For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises'.

In the 32,000 verses of the (66) books of the Bible, there are over 7,800 promises in God's word. That is about 1 out of 4 verses. That is 25% of the scriptures involve God's promises. The gospel of Jesus Christ is not just a promise from God but is filled with the promises of God. Every aspect of the gospel is filled with promise. 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved and thy house' (Acts 16:31). That is a promise from God. 'Come unto me all you that are heavy laden and I will give you rest' (Mt 11:26). That is a promise from God and God is not a man that can lie (1Kings 8:56, Titus 1:2). 'I will never leave you or forsake you' (Heb 13:5). 'And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand' (John 10:28). These are promises from God, and all the promises of God in Christ are YES and AMEN (2Cor 1:20).

Through the promises of God we become a partaker of God's divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust. Through these promises we cleanse ourselves of all the filthiness of the flesh and spirit. We through faith and patience inherit these promises. Abraham obeyed God and would have slaughtered his own son Isaac, because he had a promise and judged God to be faithful who had promised.

How important are the promises of God to our lives? We would not even have the Holy Spirit unless Christ had not promised that the Holy Spirit would come (John 15:26, 16:7, Gal 3:14, Eph 1:13). Is it not the promises of God that we cleave to and believe God for when we need Him for our situation. What are some of the promises of God that are dear to your heart?

I think for me , Psalm 91, this one I pray and stand on alot, it really helps me to not worry about my loved ones after I claim this promise of protection, Mark 11:24, is another one that I apply to my life alot, I believe this verse with all of my heart and have found when I quote this verse during prayer and claim it , I get answers to prayers, God is so awesome, thank you God....

You wake up one morning, you begin to think about what you have to do and you're rested physically but everything else seems routinely stagnant and boring. You love God but there is no life to your faith. Your not motivated in the things of God, you don't want to pray or read your Bible and you just want to be left alone. Your not depressed but nothing seems to impress you either. You make yourself a good breakfast with a fresh cup of your favorite coffee and begin your routine hoping that things will change but nothing happens. Yesterday was such a great day but today there is nothing, it is like you entered a dead zone. As you go on everything you do becomes a burden with some degree of difficulty. Things are not working out like they normally do. No one calls you to see how your doing and your not calling anyone either. Your family is about their business, but they don't seem to notice you unless they want something from you and you get it for them because you always do. You know they appreciate you but today it is not like that. All the plans that you were anticipating, you could take them or leave them.

Here you are having a drabby day, with gray clouds overhead with no sunny forecast, just waiting for something to happen. Then all of a sudden a still small voice on the inside reminds you of one of God's precious promises that says, 'But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint'. So you grab onto that promise and mix faith with it because it came from the Lord. Hope begins to spring up in your spirit and everything around you changes because the burden has been lifted. The Holy Spirit begins to shed abroad the love of God in your heart and joy comes and peace takes over the heart and you are thankful inwardly realizing that Jesus Christ was with you just waiting to be gracious to you and to give you that promise. All day long He let you go through that wilderness of nothingness just so he could impart to you His strength of grace through a promise and that no flesh would glory in His presence.
