By Law I mean the 10 commandments.
By law, I am referring to what is required of man.
By grace I am referring to what Jesus has done in our stead...like keep the law to God's satisfaction.

Jesus gave it as law...

Matthew 22:36-39 (NASB) "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?" And He said to him, " 'YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.' "This is the great and foremost commandment. "The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'

A law only He kept sufficiently, that He may be gracious to us.
Further to my previous reply, my response was to a post that also referred to "law" as in the ten commandments. If you want to be picky, there is another law, the law of the Spirit of Life. When the word "law" is mentioned in isolation, most people are referring to the Law that came via Moses.

You are the one who first challenged me (post #171) for putting doctrine over love. BTW, that was very loving of you to do that.

Yes and no. The law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has nothing to do with what is required of man.

Correct, it has everything to do with what Christ has done for us...

(Rom 8:2) For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
(Rom 8:3) For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

It's called grace or love on God's part towards man.
