We need light when we are in darkness. The true light comes from God and never goes out. Without Gods' light the world becomes dark, cold, and very lonely. The light that comes from God gives us brightness, warmth, and most of all the feeling of being loved.

2 corinthians 4:6
6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,”[a] made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
 
What you wrote is very true and very touching. The world can be so cold and cruel. With Gods presence and his love in us we can weather the storms that life brings our way. Thank you God that you love us enough to give us your light, your love, and thank you God for our salvation.
