Anyways The Sabbath is not a idol.

If someone forgot that murder was wrong, then meany would "appear" to make a idol out of teaching don't kill from the definition given in this thread. But the real reason anyone teaches anything is for instruction, not to make a idol of it.

2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

Paul does not intend for the law of Christ to be seen as an alternative to the law of God the two work harmoniously together as the loving law of Christ is used to introduce those saved by grace to the law of loving God.
Paul's intention is seen in what he revealed; e.g., 1Co 9:20-21.
Christ's intention is seen in his command (Mt 22:37-40).

The reason why we can't seem to see eye to eye is because those who don't believe in the Sabbath lump the "The Sabbath" in with the sabbath's of (Col 2:16)
That is not my reason.

My reason is the revelation spoken by the Son in these last days (Heb 1:1-2) through the NT writers.

Interesting. so since it was the One who became Jesus Christ who spoke the Law from Mt. Sinai and gave the Sabbath command, you believe He did a facepalm and said "I seriously screwed up with this Sabbath thing, now I have to go and die to change it." You really believe that? You think Christ made some big mistake and then had to come as a man and die to undo it?

And you want me to trust my eternal future to a Christ as serendipitous as this?

Thanks for the invitation but I have to sincerely decline.

Amen to that. You would think that people would realize that point by the simple fact that even they believe that killing is still wrong etc. SO it is clear that not all is done away with. and everything that is done away with is replaced by the true.

Eg:

Earthly Sanctuary now Heavenly Sanctuary.
Animal sacrifices now One sacrifice Jesus Christ.
Earthly High priest now Jesus our High priest.
Rituals practiced by faith now Just Faith in Jesus as the fulfillment of those rituals and feasts. Tough some are still yet to be fulfilled.

but nowhere does it say that the 10 commandments are gone. but rather John sees them in heaven connected with the very last days. which makes sense if the earthly was a copy of the true in heaven.

Matthew 5:21-22
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:
[SUP]22 [/SUP]But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Which is more radical? Not killing or not being angry with your brother?

Jesus is Radical. He takes the Laws you think you know and He makes them bigger than you can really imagine or perform.

He does this with all the laws. You think He wouldn't do it to the 4th as well but leave that one totally alone?

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

There's the 4th commandment, just more radical than you can think or perform.

You would think that those who know that they can't obtain their Salvation by their own work would know this...

So, help me out here, does this...

Mat 5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.
Mat 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;
Mat 5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Mat 5:25 Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.
Mat 5:26 Verily I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing.

do away with "Thou shalt not kill"?

Is the sixth Commandment now done away?

Mat 22:37.Jesus quotes from Deut. 6:5. There must first be love in the heart before a person can, in the strength and by the grace of Christ, begin to observe the precepts of God’s law (Rom. 8:3, 4). Obedience without love is as impossible as it is worthless. But where love is present a person will automatically set out to order his life in harmony with the will of God as expressed in His commandments The words of Deut. 6:5 were recited by every devout Jew morning and evening as a part of the shema‘ Jews who had an insight into the inner meaning of “the law” (see on Deut. 31:9; Prov. 3:1) should have realized that its principles were not arbitrary but based on fundamental principles of right which might properly be summed up in the command “to love.”

1 Cor 9:19-20 Is talking in the context of saving the lost. We see though it was Paul's custom to keep the sabbath Act_13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. Act_13:44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God. 2 And Paul entered, as he usually did, and for three Sabbaths he reasoned and argued with them from the Scriptures,

We see both Jews and Gentiles were keeping the Sabbath also

In fact, itis interesting that Paul preached to the Gentiles in the synagogues on the Sabbath.

Perhaps you may be onto something and it would help to not think backwards.
Meaning
Is there the possibility that part of what you say above is exactly what happened and if so
who do you suspect would have been the guilty party in messing up for Christ to have to endure what he did.

It was we who made the mistake.
And yes He had to go back and change it because we couldn't handle it, we didn't get it.
And it was as if Jesus was saying...
Oh you think 10 commandments are tough, ok fine, here's the real message, give me your hearts and everything you are, and everything you own ...dedicate to me.
because everything you are and everything you have I have given you anyways and I can issue or repeal at will.
But what I want for you is to live happily and prosper without toil.
If you'd only appreciate the source as opposed to take for granted and not take advantage of me and others for your own gain.

Give more than you take
Issue more mercy than you seek to retaliate
If someone is hungry give them your sandwich because I will provide more food for you by tomorrow
Don't touch stuff that's not yours without asking because you might break it.
If you ever need something ask me...If I feel it's in your best interest I will grant it, if it may harm you in some way I will protect you even from yourself because I know better.
And since you wouldn't obey and listen the first time you were told all this, now I am going to give you chance after chance after chance and when you are pushing me away doing your own thing I will remind you that I am here so that the enemy doesn't lead you away to try and destroy you.
Because yes if you end up going to jail I'm not gonna bail you out this next time, i already bailed you out by taking your punishment the first time.

Jesus has a much more gifted way of wording this though.
Me? Not so much.

Do you really think Jesus endured all he did because it was HIM who made the mistake?
Do you see
Every time we transgress God we make a mistake by turning away from him
turning our ear when he is prompting us to look the other way and turn back to him

Maybe we should go back to stoning people for their sins like it was before Christ changed that.
Hmmm. wait show me the verse where it says we are to no longer stone someone for adultery
or even stone your children for being too rebellious to banish the evil from among us.
If it's not there what change happened to cause us to stop and why are we not still continuing these practices any longer?

No, it is not possible that this is what happened. Salvation is not an afterthought and sin is not something that Christ reacted to...

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Tit 1:1 Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God's elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness;
Tit 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Rev 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

There are no facepalms, oops's or surprises to God. He KNEW how things would turn out before He created the first atom of the universe and planned for it.

Rom 4:17 (As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were.

Christ's sacrifice was not a work-around for something that He was not prepared for. So the giving of the Law was not something that caught God off guard when those without His Spirit could not obey, He had planned for that before time began...

2Ti 1:9 who has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to His own purpose and grace which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began, - NKJV

The covenant lawsuit = Dan 9:24 Seventy weeks are fulfilled in Act 7 the end of the seventy weeks.

Seventy weeks. This expression seems to be a rather abrupt introduction, but the angel had come for the specific purpose of causing Daniel to understand the vision. He immediately began to explain.
The word here translated “week,” shabua‘, describes a period of seven consecutive days (see Gen. 29:27; Deut. 16:9; Dan. 10:2). In the pseudepigraphical Book of Jubilees, as well as in the Mishnah, shabua‘ is used to denote a period of seven years. Here, evidently, weeks of years are intended rather than weeks of days, for in ch. 10:2, 3 when Daniel wishes to specify that the “weeks” there referred to are seven-day weeks he explicitly says, “weeks of days” (Heb.; KJV, “full weeks”). Seventy weeks of years would be 490 literal years, without (here) applying the day-year principle.
Are determined. Chathak, a word occurring only here in the Bible. It occurs in post-Biblical Hebrew with the meaning “to cut,” “to cut off,” “to determine,” “to decree.” The LXX has krinō, “to decide,” “to judge,” etc. Theodotion’s version has suntemnō, “to shorten,” “to abbreviate,” etc., which meaning is reflected in the Vulgate reading abbreviare. The exact shade of meaning here intended must be determined from the context. In view of the fact that ch. 9 is an exposition of the unexplained portion of the vision of ch. 8, and inasmuch as the unexplained portion had to do with the 2300 days, it is logical to conclude that the 70 weeks, or 490 years, were to be “cut off” from that longer period. Furthermore, in the absence of contrary evidence, it may be assumed that the 70 weeks would be cut off from the beginning of that period. Viewed in the light of these observations, the translation of chathak as “to cut” seems singularly appropriate. In so far as the 490 years were especially assigned to the Jews with respect to their role as God’s chosen people, the translations “determine” and “decree” are also appropriate to the context.
Thy people. The 490 years applied especially to the Jewish nation.
To finish. lekalle’ from the root kela’, “to restrain.” The passage may have reference to the restraining power that God would exercise upon the forces of evil during the period allotted to the Jews. However, some 40 Hebrew manuscripts read lekalleh, a form clearly from kalah, “to bring a completion.” If kalah is the root, then the passage evidently refers to the fact that within this period the Jews would fill the cup of their iniquity. God had suffered long with the Israelites. He had given them many opportunities, but they continually disappointed Him (see pp. 32, 33).
To make an end of sins. This phrase may be parallel in meaning to the one preceding it, “to finish the transgression.” Some expositors note that the word here translated “sins” ( chaṭṭa’oth, orchaṭṭa’th, according to some manuscripts and the Masoretes) may mean either “sins” or “sin offerings.” Of the 290 occurrences in the OT chaṭṭa’th has the meaning “sin” 155 times, and “sin offering” 135 times. If “sin offerings” is the intended meaning, the following interpretation is suggested: When Christ on Calvary became the antitype of the sacrificial offerings of the sanctuary, it was no longer necessary for the sinner to bring his sin offering. However, the plural form chaṭṭa’oth almost invariably describes sins and only once, unless this be an exception also, denotes sin offerings (Neh. 10:33).
To make reconciliation. Heb. kaphar, generally translated “to make atonement” (see Ex. 30:10; Lev. 4:20; etc.). By His vicarious sacrifice on Calvary Christ provided reconciliation for all who accept His sacrifice.
Everlasting righteousness. Christ did not come to earth simply to provide for the blotting out of sin. He came to reconcile man to God. He came so that it might be possible to impute and to impart His righteousness to the penitent sinner. When men accept Him, He bestows on them the robe of His righteousness, and they stand in God’s presence as though they had never sinned. God loves repentant, believing souls as He loves His only Son, and for Christ’s sake accepts them into His family. By His life, death, and resurrection, Christ has made everlasting righteousness available to every child of Adam who, in simple faith, is willing to accept it.
To seal up. Here evidently not in the sense of “shutting up,” but of “confirming,” or “ratifying.” The fulfillment of the predictions connected with the first coming of the Messiah at the time specified in the prophecy gives assurance that the other features of the prophecy, notably the 2300 prophetic days, will be as precisely fulfilled.
The most Holy. Heb. qodesh qodashim, “something most holy,” or, “someone most holy.” The Hebrew phrase is applied to the altar (Ex. 29:37; 40:10), other vessels and furniture pertaining to the tabernacle (Ex. 30:29), the holy perfume (Ex. 30:36), specified meat offerings (Lev. 2:3, 10; 6:17; 10:12), trespass offerings (Lev. 7:1, 6), the shewbread (Lev. 24:5–9), devoted things (Lev. 27:28), the holy district (Num. 18:10; Eze. 43:12), and the most holy place of the sanctuary (Ex. 26:33, 34). The phrase is nowhere applied to persons, unless, as some suggest, it is so applied in the text under consideration and in 1 Chron. 23:13. The latter text may be translated, “Aaron was separated to anoint him a most holy one,” although it may also be rendered as in the KJV. Jewish expositors and many Christian commentators have held that the Messiah is referred to.
In view of the fact that the Hebrew phrase cannot elsewhere be shown to refer definitely to a person, and in view of the fact that the heavenly sanctuary is under discussion in the larger aspects of the vision (Dan. 8:14), it is reasonable to conclude that Daniel is here speaking of the anointing of the heavenly sanctuary prior to the time of Christ’s inauguration as high priest.

Thanks, but I still don't understand "covenant lawsuit," and I don't find it in Scripture.

A lawsuit is a suit brought in law.

How is that in Ac 7?

"The Sabbath" is not a shadow of Christ it was here before sin. And will be here after sin (Isa chapter 66:23) on the new earth.
The Son was also here before sin, and will be here after sin on the new earth.

That has nothing to do with the Sabbath being a shadow of the Son.

All that happens in the sequence of time was ordained before the foundation of the world.

Time has no bearing on the meaning of what God has sequentially ordained.

God has ordained that the Sabbath is a shadow of the Son, in whom is our rest (Heb 4:1, 3, 6, 8-11):

"Since the promise of entering his rest still stands,

[Salvation is still available. His rest does not refer ultimately to the rest in Canaan.
The partial and temporary earthly rest in Canaan under Joshua (v.8; Jos 1:13) pointed to a
rest that is spiritual and eternal in God.]
let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. . .

Now we who have believed enter that rest

[just as entering physical rest in Canaan demanded faith in God's promise,
so salvation-rest is entered only by faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ.]
just as God has said,
'So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest." '
And yet his work has been finished since the creation of the world. . .

[God's rest is in his finished work. The rest God calls us to enter (vv.10-11) is not
our temporary rest on the Sabbath day, but his eternal rest, offered to us, through
faith in the finished work of Christ.]

It still remains that some will enter that rest, and those who formerly had the
gospel preached to them did not go in, because of their disobedience
[unbelief]. . .

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken about another day.
There remains then a Sabbath-rest for the people of God:
[God's rest in his finished work may still be entered, by faith in the finished work of his Son.]
for anyone who enters God's rest also rests from his own work, just as God did from his.

[As God rested from the work of creation, the believer ceases his efforts to gain salvation
by his own works and rests in the finished work of Christ on the cross.]

Let us, therefore, make ever effort to enter that rest [to enter salvation-rest by faith],
so that no one will fall by following their example of disobedience [their sad example of unbelief]."

Heb 4 is clear.

The remaining Sabbath rest for the people of God is a matter of faith and rest
in the finished work of Christ on the cross,
just as God rests in his finished work.

Heb 7:18 "Weakness and unprofitableness".Not that it was so inherently for God Himself had instituted it. But it failed because of the people’s attitude toward it. They made the law an end in itself and believed that obedience to it would bring them salvation. They had the gospel preached unto them, but it did not profit them, not being mixed with faith
Agreed. . .the Mosaic law failed to make righteous because of disobedience to it.

The change in the Law in vs 12 of Heb 7 is not saying it changed the 10 commandments it is changing the levitical law.

The law provided that only the Levites could serve at the tabernacle
, and that only the sons of Aaron could be priests. Furthermore, it regulated the services of the priests with reference to the dispensation in which they served. It would be necessary to change the law if a priest were selected from another tribe (v. 13) and a new order of things were introduced (ch. 8:13).
That's a fail.

The law that was set aside was the one that was "weak and useless to make righteous" (Heb 7:18-19)
because of their disobedience to it (Heb 8:8).
That is the Mosaic law, not the priesthood laws.

If you cannot exegete Scripture without setting it against itself,
we have no basis for discussion.

This a question to everyone here who is against the Sabbath day.

Since you believe that Christ did away with keeping the Sabbath day, why is it to be kept in the Millennium?

Isaiah 66:22-23 “As the new heavens and the new earth that I make will endure before me,” declares the Lord, “so will your name and descendants endure. 23 From one New Moon to another and from one Sabbath to another, all mankind will come and bow down before me,” says the Lord."

Also are instructed to keep the feast of Tabernacles too in these next verses. Any nation who refuses will have a curse over their land
.

Zechariah 14:16-19 "Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. [SUP]17 [/SUP]If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain. [SUP]18 [/SUP]If the Egyptian people do not go up and take part, they will have no rain. The Lord will bring on them the plague he inflicts on the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. [SUP]19 [/SUP]This will be the punishment of Egypt and the punishment of all the nations that do not go up to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles."

Also anyone caught eating swines flesh or any abomination will be destroyed.

Isaiah 66:17 “Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one who is among those who eat the flesh of pigs, rats and other unclean things—they will meet their end together with the one they follow,” declares the Lord.

So to me this verse is saying that if you are eating any unclean thing then you are NOT following YHWH in these things because He instructs his people to not consume these unclean animals.

People, this is in the Millennium of all times and you think that it's not for today!?? You have some serious scriptural issues if you believe this
.

Just want to say that if I'm wrong and you're right then I have nothing to lose BUT if I'm right and you're wrong then you'll have to stand before God on judgement day and it's not going to be a happy time.

For anyone still thinking that we believe that focusing on the commandments grants us salvation that's not what we are saying. We desire to keep God's commandments because we love him and want to show him by keeping them.

If you're married and you just say to your wife that you love her but never keep any instruction she asks you to keep, that is not love and she will not feel loved.

Also with children, can they say that since Jesus came to spiritualize everything that they no longer have to obey their parents physically but now only spiritually? Just say I love you Mom/Dad but never show it by refusing to keep the parents instructions?.

There called "Ceremonial laws" and they are tied to the priests and temple laws as well. This is not the same as the 10 Commandments

just as God rests in his finished work.

And just show me a scripture that says the Sabbath is set aside and one may worship on any day he chooses. How about this one...

Heb 4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
Heb 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
Heb 4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Heb 4:4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

Oh wait, the rest we are talking about has something to do with the seventh day.

Heb 4:5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Heb 4:6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Rest here is Sabbatismos and means keeping the Sabbath. My Oxford KJV bible has this in the margin.

The Diaglott has...

Heb 4:9 Therefore remains a keeping of a sabbath for the people of the God.

We have gone over this many, many times but if you don't want to admit something you just ignore it.

Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said,
Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
Heb 4:8 For if Jesus had given them rest,??? then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

Rest here is Sabbatismos and means keeping the Sabbath. My Oxford KJV bible has this in the margin.

Heb 4:7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said,

Heb 4:8 For if JOSHUA had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
Heb 4:9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.

....Fixed it for ya

So to me this verse is saying that if you are eating any unclean thing then you are NOT following YHWH in these things because He instructs his people to not consume these unclean animals.

People, this is in the Millennium of all times and you think that it's not for today!?? You have some serious scriptural issues if you believe this
.

What does Jesus have to say about these things?

Jesus replied,
“And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
They worship me in vain;
their teachings are merely human rules

“Listen and understand.
What goes into someone’s mouth does not defile them,
but what comes out of their mouth, that is what defiles them.”
