It's been a very busy week for me. I started Seminary this week, I'm teaching tomorrow at church, and it was my son's 4th Birthday. All the while, God has been giving me manna and allowing me serve Him and His people. Fortunately, this is the day where we don't have to gather more manna, but can freely eat off of everything He's given us all week.

Exodus 23:12 "Six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you shall cease from labor so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female slave, as well as your stranger, may refresh themselves"

Tomorrow, many of us get to go to church to celebrate the Sabbath. More importantly, we get to serve our God, and minister to His people with everything He's given us over the week. May you all have a blessed Sabbath, and may you continue to rest in His great mercies and provisions. Shabbat Shalom y'all!

Sabbat Shalom to all! Great news Matt, congrats and have a blessed Sabbath. Happy 4th birthday to your son,:)

Thank you Lord for the Sabbath Day of rest - here is a modern day Psalm from my heart.

Praise You Lord for your marvelous creation,
Praise You for your gift of Salvation.
Praise You for the love that You show,
To those of us to You a huge debt we owe.
All I can give is my whole heart to You,
And Praise You Lord with all that I do.
Help me to praise You as long as I live,
Everything I am to You Lord I give.

Great to see you all.
Kohen, it's become a habit to look for your Sabbath thread every Saturday morning. May you have a wonderful time - you and your family.
No "church" to go to but we meet from house to house every Sabbath enjoying the fellowship. Had a good one last night, spoke about the love of God and studied a bit on 1 John and will continue on today. Can't wait...

[h=3]From Psalm 92[/h]
It is good to give thanks to Adonai
and sing praises to your name, ‘Elyon,
to tell in the morning about your grace
and at night about your faithfulness,
to the music of a ten-stringed [harp] and a lute,
with the melody sounding on a lyre.

For, Adonai, what you do makes me happy;
I take joy in what your hands have made.
How great are your deeds, Adonai!
How very deep your thoughts!

Sabbat Shalom

You get to minister to all the folks? What about the folks? If you are doing all the ministering, when do the folks get to operate in their functions?

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, so......

The entire body should be ministering to God and one another. We all serve one another. We all encourage one another. We all pray for one another. That's the privilege and responsibility of coming together in community. You're not there for yourself. You're there for everyone else.

Excuse me, but what is manna?

Manna was the nourishment God provided Israel in the desert. It was something He created. They could only gather it.

"Manna" is revelation, truth, life and spiritual nourishment for us today; our daily bread. It's something He created for us. We just gather it.

Thanks for clearing that up! I thought it was a typo first and I was ages trying to work out what you meant to say lol.

But that makes sense now

Isaiah 58:13 KJV
(13) If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:

I pray God will bless you on the day of your worship of Him...........I know I'm looking forward to Sunday when I will gather with my church family to worship and praise God...............

(remember me in your prayers, as I will remember you in mine)

I tend to speak of the Lord's Day rather than the Sabbath. The Resurrection corresponds with the Feast of Firstfruits. 'Christ our passover is sacrificed for us, and is become the firstfruits of them that slept'. I don't want to go back to the types and shadows, when there fulfilment has been revealed in the Person and Work of Christ.

The principle is to set aside a day to honor the LORD. If someone is reeeaaaaly concerned with the Saturday/Sunday thing perhaps they could take comfort in the International date line ie Greenwich mean time) The LORD sees the heart not the calendar. God bless each one of us.

The resurrection was on late Sabbath afternoon and which day is Christ the Lord of?

Mat 12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

Mar 2:27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
Mar 2:28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

But this is the wrong venu for this discussion. Three days and three nights is a good thread topic this time of year. Paul speaks of the Sabbath STILL being a shadow of a YET FUTURE event.

Yes the Sabbath was nailed to the cross. Those who have an ear to hear let them hear.
