5.1 The Ten Commandments as Universal "Moral" Law
The Ten Commandments are not the exclusive property of ethnic Israel. They are the eternal expression of God's own moral character embedded in the creation order itself and applicable to every human being made in His image. This universality is established from the very beginning of Scripture.
The Sabbath was established at creation for man in general not for Israel specifically. (Genesis 2:2-3). The sanctity of human life was established at creation for all humanity made in God's image. (Genesis 9:6). The sanctity of marriage was established at creation for all humanity. (Genesis 2:24). The prohibition on idolatry flows from the nature of God who is the creator of all things and to whom all humanity owes its existence and allegiance. These moral realities are not culturally specific. They are universal.
Jesus confirmed their universal application when He said the Sabbath was made for man, using the Greek word anthropos meaning humanity in general, not for Ioudaios meaning Jewish people specifically. The gift was made for the whole human race at the creation of the whole human race.
5.2 The New Covenant Writes the Same Law Deeper
The New Covenant does not replace the Ten Commandments with a different moral standard. It writes the same law on transformed hearts by the Holy Spirit producing genuine heartfelt obedience where external law alone could only produce condemnation. This is precisely what Jeremiah prophesied and what Ezekiel confirmed:
I will put my law in their inward parts and write it in their hearts and will be their God and they shall be my people.
Jeremiah 31:33 KJV
I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my statutes and ye shall keep my judgments and do them.
Ezekiel 36:27 KJV

Same law. Written deeper. By the Spirit. On transformed hearts. The New Covenant does not abolish what was written on stone. It internalises it so that obedience becomes the natural expression of genuine love for God rather than the impossible demand of external law applied to an unchanged heart.
The writer of Hebrews confirmed the continuing relevance of the Sabbath specifically for New Covenant believers with a deliberate and precise choice of language:
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Hebrews 4:9 KJV

The word translated rest here is the Greek sabbatismos which appears only in this one place in the entire New Testament and which means literally a keeping of the Sabbath or Sabbath observance. The writer had many other Greek words for rest available to him. He chose sabbatismos deliberately. And he said it remaineth. Present tense. Active. Still there. Still for the people of God. Under the New Covenant.
5.3 The Standard of Judgment
The most practically urgent reason for Gentile believers to take the Ten Commandments seriously is the one Jesus Himself provided. He declared that His own words would be the standard of judgment on the last day:
He that rejecteth me and receiveth not my words hath one that judgeth him the word that I have spoken the same shall judge him in the last day. John 12:48 KJV
His words. Not the traditions of any denomination. Not any human theological system however ancient or widely accepted. His actual words. And His actual words on the commandments are unambiguous. They stand. They are to be kept. Teaching others to break them carries a specific and serious consequence. And keeping them is the evidence of genuine love for Him.
The apostle John who walked with Jesus personally and heard His words directly confirmed the test of genuine knowledge of God:
By this we know that we know Him if we keep His commandments. He who says I know Him and does not keep His commandments is a liar and the truth is not in him.
1 John 2:3-4 NKJV

This is not a statement about Jewish law versus Gentile freedom. It is a universal statement about what genuine knowledge of God looks like in a human life. The keeping of His commandments is the evidence. The absence of that keeping is the evidence of a claim that is not true. This standard applies to every believer regardless of ethnicity, background or theological tradition.

5.4 Summary of Obligations for Gentile Believers
Drawing together the evidence presented throughout this study the following summary represents what Scripture consistently requires of Gentile believers under the New Covenant.
The Ten Commandments remain fully binding on all believers including Gentiles because they are the eternal covenant written by God's own finger, confirmed five times in Scripture as His covenant, established on principles that predate Moses and Israel and apply to all humanity made in God's image, confirmed by Jesus as standing until heaven and earth pass away, and written on transformed hearts by the Holy Spirit under the New Covenant precisely so that genuine obedience becomes possible and natural.
The Law of Moses in its ceremonial and sacrificial dimensions has been fulfilled and completed in the person and work of Jesus Christ. The Levitical priesthood, the animal sacrifices, the ritual purity laws, the dietary regulations as covenant markers and the civil codes specific to Israel as a theocratic nation state have been superseded by their fulfillment in Christ. Gentile believers are not required to observe these elements because they were temporary provisions pointing forward to Christ and their purpose has been accomplished in Him.
The moral principles embedded in the Law of Moses that reflect the eternal character of God and that align with the Ten Commandments remain fully applicable. They were never temporary cultural provisions. They are expressions of the unchanging character of the God who says:
For I am the Lord I change not. Malachi 3:6 KJV

To Conclude;
The distinction between the Ten Commandments and the Law of Moses is not a later theological invention. It is written into the structure of Scripture itself through the physical arrangement God ordained, the five explicit declarations God made about His covenant, the manner in which the commandments were communicated, the author by whom they were written and the permanent location assigned to them in the most sacred object in all of Israel's worship.
The Ten Commandments are the eternal covenant expression of God's own moral character. They predate Moses. They predate Israel. They apply to all humanity made in God's image. They were written by God Himself with His own finger. They were placed inside the ark of God's presence. They were declared His covenant five times. They were spoken directly to the entire assembly of Israel with a great voice from the fire after which God added no more. And Jesus Christ confirmed they stand until heaven and earth pass away and tied their keeping inseparably to genuine love for Himself.
The Law of Moses was added alongside the eternal covenant as a gracious and temporary response to Israel's transgression at the foot of the mountain. It served as a guardian pointing forward to Christ through its elaborate system of sacrifices, priesthood and ceremonial provision. When Christ came as the final sacrifice, the eternal High Priest and the fulfillment of every shadow the Law of Moses had cast, the temporary guardian completed its purpose.
But the covenant written on stone and now written on hearts by the Holy Spirit under the New Covenant remains. God said so through Jeremiah. Ezekiel said the Spirit causes His people to walk in His statutes. Isaiah described Gentile believers in the messianic age keeping the Sabbath and being brought to God's holy mountain. Jesus said His words will judge us on the last day. John said keeping His commandments is the evidence of genuine knowledge of God.
The mouth of the Lord has spoken it. And His words have not passed away.
Heaven and earth will pass away but My words will by no means pass away.
Matthew 24:35 NKJV

What's the point of living any longer if you're helping no one find rest in the gospel? All vegans end up with is a more fibrous poop.
I wonder who did the study that determined that?

Being a researcher is not all it's cracked up to be, methinks....

Vassal, give it up. Your circular argument has been proven wrong hundreds of times by now. You continue to rely on a division of the law in which the Bible never makes. You say the new covenant is the Mt Sinai law when Jer 31:32 says the exact opposite. You are trying to live under a fulfilled contract while ignoring the Mediator of the New and Better Covenant.

really stupid comment
I found @Mem ‘s comment to be very informative. You may not understand, since instead of helping others find rest in Jesus, you insist on throwing the burden of the law onto them, and helping them rest 24 hours a week.

Also vegans do intend poop way more. There have been numerous studies to prove this. I can provide the links if you like.

Oh I see.
So another with nothing of any substance to add but more inane comments?

Seems to be a common theme within the ilk.

Do you honestly read your own posts before you post them? Should I ask you everyday how my walk with God is going or if I’m a Christian since you’re the judge? How’s your supporting of false doctrine and false prophets going? You seem to be very unhappy and lacking joy.

I asked. I have to ask you the same. Because your fruits are confusing.

Oh, my goodness, child....
I've been a Christian longer than you've been alive, I imagine.
Every idle word. And Not likely if that is you in the photo. Nice hat btw

I'm just not a Puritan. I believe Jesus would find your serious, over-pious attitude a little sadly amusing, as well.
Not likely.

Over pious?

Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Titus 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.

Bestiality is okay then?

So you see it?
I did, but I provided the context to where the book of the law was kept compared to the Ten Commandments. Not sure if you saw that in my post. At any event I am glad you acknowledged the Ten Commandments are God's laws to me they cover every moral aspect of the law of Moses, which is what I beleive what the law of Moses was teaching, as we are told the commandments of God are very broad.

God bless!

????????????
You post was about our obligation to the Ten. Bestiality isn’t of the Decalogue, it is covered in the Book of the Law. As are many other teachings that tell us what sin is.
