We are saved individually.
Not as a church or group or nation.

I have stated my believe about "salvation by works", many times, and you should know I do not believe in salvation by works.

We have different understandings of salvation.

What is salvation? Jesus is our Salvation.
We are saved by Jesus alone.

Saved from what? SIN.

We were without sin when we were first made. We were made in God's image.

We needed saving from sin. Sin is the problem, and Jesus is the saviour of that problem.

I have faith in Jesus's ability to fix the problem in every way. To save us from sin by giving us power to not sin. And by forgiving us from past sin. Salvation is about restoring us to a state of perfect harmony with God.

It is not salvation from sin if we are still in bondage to it.
It is not salvation from sin if we are still living in sin every day.

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

Col 3:10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

You are wasting your time. Never going to believe anyone who leaves out large portions of scripture, confuses the old and new testaments to create false doctrine and is dedicated to both those things and convinced it's all good.

When God made heaven and earth in six days and on the sixth day made man in His image and likeness so on the very next day when God made the seventh day and rested, did God go off and rest by Himself as some have indicated or did He make the day to rest with man. Did God leave our first parents on the day after He created them, to just go figure things out on their own or did God rest with man.
(1) Who said God "went off " and rested by Himself?" This is just another straw man. How can God even be by Himself when He is omnipresent?

(2) As far as "figuring things out ON THEIR OWN" it seems to me that is what YOU are doing. All, Genesis 2 says is that when God had finished creating on the Seventh Day. He ceased creating. Moses added that, because of this, that day was special to God. However, at that time in history no command was yet given to man to cease working and rest on Shabbat. That command did not come until later
when Moses received the command on Mt Sinai:
Exodus 31:17 states, “It [the Sabbath day] is a sign forever between me and the people of Israel that in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.”
Shabbat was a sign between whom? Between God and the nation of Israel

I think the Bible answers these questions.


God made man in His image and likeness Gen 1:26 so if God rested on the seventh day, so did man because God created man to follow Him. After Creation, God made one more day for Himself? God made the seventh day, He blessed the seventh day, set it apart for holy use sanctified and named the seventh day the Sabbath.
God did create man in His image, that is, man was made to be a sentient, self-determining being (like God).
Still, what exactly did God command Adam to do about this in the context of Genesis 1:26?

Did God bless the Sabbath for Himself? God is already blessed. Did God make holy the Sabbath day for Himself?
Why not? The Bible says that God rejoices in His works:

God was inviting mankind to rejoice with Him in His work of making a world for us to live in. Since Adam he was not yet under a sentence of endless hard labor, earning his food by the sweat of his brow he would not have understood work to be something laborious.

Why Jesus said the Sabbath was made for man. Mark2:27-28 And the word He used means mankind. Original Word: ἄνθρωπος humans, mankind.
Genesis was not written in Greek but in Hebrew. The word anthropos came from the Greek Septuagint translation.

Good news is a term referring specifically to the Messianic message of salvation prophesied in Isaiah. The promised inheritance Israel had was of entering and conquering the Land. God's promise did them no good because of their unbelief. Likewise OUR inheritance which is eternal life (1 Peter 1:40) will do us no good if we cease believing the gospel of salvation. Hebrews reveals the spiritual meaning of "rest" and identifies who will enter into it.

3 Now we who have BELIEVED enter that rest. As for the others, it is just as God has said: “So I swore on oath in My anger, They shall never enter My rest.’” And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world. 4 For somewhere He has spoken about the seventh day in this manner: “And on the seventh day God rested from all His works.”

Being told by people who confuse the old and new testaments and do a mashup of them, all while ignoring large portions of
the New Testament, cause you know people who actually study ancient languages and understand how to translate them, are just not as good as listening to a false prophet aka Ellen White.

Saying I only listen to Jesus and so should you and just ignore large portions of NT scripture is not going to cut it either.

Do people really and truly believe/think that is OK? When you actually acknowledge what they do and realize the impudence and nerve to tell people who are aware of the totality of scripture and know what actual contextual study and exegesis is, that they are confused, mistaken and otherwise ignorant, you stand back and see deception at work.

Don't chop up scripture and conflate the old and new testaments.

Don't take verses and passages out of context to 'prove' your great understanding which is actually confusion and distortion

Don't ignore the letters from Paul and dismiss him as not having had a direct calling from Jesus to be an Apostle to the the Gentiles which you actually probably are

Don't tell people what day of the week is acceptable to God and if you insist on church attendance on Sunday, you are illustrating the mark of the beast and God will turn you away. Scripture is very plain that is hogwash but these folks just ignore that

Don't think yourself superior to everyone else because only you know the truth. You have abandonned the truth long ago.

Sadly, this post may well be followed by a rant from one or two of the people who should pay attention to the list above, in which they will try to explain away their confusion with copy/pastes of OT scripture while trying to insert a meaning not intended by the original author(s) into NT scripture, in order to make it seem they are the chosen and the special ones. They are special, but not in the way they think.

we believe sinning is not a problem and in fact we sometimes just sin away for the fun of it.

That is a lie that has been repeated many times in this thread and a few other places.

It is not true and if someone just continues saying that it means they are a false accuser and are breaking those 10 commandments they like to flash around like some kind of credentials

Thats not all that happened on the seventh day, God blessed the seventh day, set it apart sanctified for holy use and named the seventh day the Sabbath Exo20:11 its the only day God named. Sunday came from Pagan roots, the Sabbath came directly from God.

Everything God did for the Sabbath was made for mankind according to Jesus Mark2:27-28 because God set apart the Sabbath from Creation to Bless Isa56:2 and sanctify man Eze20:12 because man cannot do this themselves Isa66:17 we need God. Man has taken another day that never came with the power of God's Blessing or sanctification and man thinks they have the same power as God to do that. Its sadly leading a lot of people down the wrong path Dan7:25

You are free to believe as you wish though

Why do you think being made in God's image and likeness is doing something different than God? God rested on the seventh day Sabbath, He made it for mankind, Jesus kept every Sabbath going to church reading the Bible, as did the apostles, it was only after that Scripture man changed God's times and laws and decided to create another image instead of following in the footsteps of God. This was all predicted in Scripture Dan7:25 Acts 20:29

The Ten Commandments is God's works too Exo32:16 because its the righteous way God wants His children to walk Psa119:172 that sadly many have rejected for their own works of righteousness (right doing) instead of depending on God's Isa56:1-2 His is everlasting Psa119:142 the foundation of His Throne Psa89:13

I am not sure if you're following this was Jesus speaking about the Creation event when man and the Sabbath was made. The word He used was in Greek and means mankind, the Hebrew word doesn't help your argeument either because it means Adam.

The gospel message was preached to them the same one to us as there is only one gospel message. Those before did not benefit because it was not mixed with faith and sadly man never entered into their rest/land full of milk and honey because God said they rebelled against His Sabbath Eze22:13 which God related to idol worship Eze22:16 we are told to learn from this experience and not follow in the same example of disobedience Heb4:11 but sadly just like the trial of the wilderness many still have a hardened heart Heb3:7-19 to the law of God in their heart Heb8:10 Rom8:7-8 not trusting what God says over popular traditions of man Mat15:3-14

I wish people with these false accusations would ever back it up with proof. Please show one place where any Adventist said if you are not an Adventist you can't be saved. We are accountable for every false accusation we make against another.

Sadly the other spirit has been teaching people by the millions if not more that we cannot overcome sin, that the devil has more power to keep us in our sins than Jesus does to save us from our sins. Sadly this is teaching people how to be lost

You did the very same thing when you applied Hebrews 3:12 to anyone who does not keep Shabbat.

12See to it, brothers, that none of you has a wicked heart of unbelief that turns away from the living God. 13But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness.…

You said before that not practicing Shabbat is the same as having an evil unbelieving heart of unbelief that TURNS AWAY FROM GOD. This leads inevitably to the conclusion that all those who do not keep Shabbat have apostatized from the faith and are headed for damnation. If this is not what you meant, please say so now.
 
The Bible does present the Ten Commandments as the covenant itself. In Exodus 34:28, it is written:

"So he was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Commandments."

"So He declared to you His covenant which He commanded you to perform, the Ten Commandments; and He wrote them on two tablets of stone
(Deuteronomy 4:13, NKJV)

This clearly states that the Ten Commandments are the covenant. When we look at Jeremiah 31:31-33, we see God speaking of a new covenant, but notice what He says:

"Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them, says the Lord.
But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people."


This passage does not say the law itself would change. Instead, it tells us that the ten commandments that are the covenant instead of being written on stone tablets, would be written in our hearts and minds. That means the law remains the same, but its place changes, from external tablets to internal conviction. This is why we see in the Gospels of John, Matthew, Luke and Mark, Jesus teaching the commandments and magnifying them.

Now, let's connect this with the Ark of the Covenant. In Deuteronomy 10:1-5, God commanded Moses to place the two tablets of the Ten Commandments inside the Ark:


"At that time the Lord said to me, ‘Hew for yourself two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to Me on the mountain, and make yourself an ark of wood... Then I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tablets in the ark which I had made; and there they are, just as the Lord commanded me.’"

This shows the special place of the Ten Commandments, inside the Ark, symbolizing their central role in the covenant. But what about the rest of the law? In Deuteronomy 31:24-26, Moses wrote the book of the law and placed it beside the Ark:


"So it was, when Moses had completed writing the words of this law in a book, when they were finished, that Moses commanded the Levites, who bore the ark of the covenant of the Lord, saying: ‘Take this Book of the Law, and put it beside the ark of the covenant of the Lord your God, that it may be there as a witness against you.’”

This distinction is important. The Ten Commandments being described clearly as the Covenant were placed inside the Ark of the Covenant, showing their eternal, unchanging nature as the foundation of the covenant. The rest of the law was placed beside the Ark, acting as a witness.

Now, when Jeremiah speaks of the law being written in our hearts, he is speaking of the same law, the Ten Commandments. The "new" part of the covenant is not that the law changes but that God Himself ensures it is within us, guiding us from within rather than being an external set of rules. This aligns perfectly with how Jesus upheld and fulfilled the law, always pointing back to love for God and neighbor as the foundation of obedience (Matthew 22:36-40).

So, the New Covenant is not about replacing the Ten Commandments but about making them part of who we are.

The Ten Commandments was the outline for the entire Covenant.
"This is the Covenant." 1 -2 -3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10, etc.

The Ten Commandments alone needed more definition in order to keep it and obey it.

For example, to keep the Sabbath?
One needed definition and instruction in keeping the Sabbath as to be found in the Torah.

To have no other gods before you?
That required to learn in the Law who and what God really is.

You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor? -
That required the Law to define what was required for being a true witness acceptable to God.

My friend, you have switched good for evil and evil for good. I would be careful with that Isa5:20 Eze22:26

God Blessed the Sabbath day, made it holy, sanctified it and told us to Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy Exo20:8-11- this was not a suggestion, it is a commandment of God. Exo20:6 So you are going to claim the opposite of what God said to keep the Sabbath holy is sin and profaning it is good? Sin is breaking the law of God 1John3:4 what He said James2:10-12 not what man says, because we are not God.

This sadly is a doctrine of another spirit, saying the opposite of what God said.

What God deems as evil stays evil, what He deems as righteousness stays righteousness, its not that God was not clear, its our faith to live by every word of God, Mat4:4 and not men. Mark7:7-13

Rev 22:11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.”

Yes, God wanted Adam and Eve to reflect on God's finished work of creation and to be thankful for the world He had given them.
My point is that God did not COMMAND people to celebrate what God had done by refraining from work until God told them to do so through Moses in Exodus 20:11

This is a myth. The first generation of Christians are the ones who decided to worship on Sunday because that was the day Christ when Christ rose from the dead and appeared to them. The Catholic Church did not even exist at that time in history. To distinquish between their meetings and the Roman Day of the Sun, Christians CHANGED the name of that day to the Day of the Lord. Even the Apostle John himself referred to it that way in the Book of the Revelation:
10 On the Lord’s day I was in the Spirit, and I heard behind me a loud voice like a trumpet,
(Revelation 1:10)
The term Day of the Lord uses the adjective kyriakós (which is derived from 2962 /kýrios, "lord"). Properly, it means pertaining to or belonging to the Lord (kyrios). This same adjective is used to describe the Lord's Supper (also called the Lord's table) This is not a rumor started by the Catholic Church (no matter what Ellen White wrote). Christians began gathering together on Sunday for a good reason - that was the day Jesus rose from the dead.

White's teaching that not keeping Shabbat is "the mark of the beast" is as ludicrous as it is self-serving. By condemning all other Churches to hell she was attempting to write off all who opposed her (false) teaching. The Greek word for mark (of the beast) is
charagma (χάραγμα) which does NOT indicate a symbolic behavior or practice. Literally, it means a scratch, etching, or a stamp ON THE PHYSICAL BODY.

Yes, God wanted Adam and Eve to reflect on God's finished work of creation and to be thankful for the world He had given them.
My point is that God did not COMMAND people to celebrate what God had done by refraining from work until God told them to do so through Moses in Exodus 20:11
God said Remember in Exo20:8 because its not something that just started- God related the Sabbath in the Ten Commandments back to Creation Exo20:11 just as Jesus said the LORD of the Sabbath Exo20:11 the Creator Col 1:16 who plainly said the Sabbath was made for man and the word He used was mankind. Mark2:27-28 we of course can reject what Jesus said He made for us, we are not forced to join ourselves to the LORD all is invited Isa56:6 sadly not everyone responds to His call.

The Catholic Church did not even exist at that time in history. To distinquish between their meetings and the Roman Day of the Sun, Christians CHANGED the name of that day to the Day of the Lord. Even the Apostle John himself referred to it that way in the Book of the Revelation:

Where does it say day one or Sunday here- God told us plainly not to add to His Words Pro30:5-6 do you not feel God is capable of He telling us when the holy day of the LORD is Isa58:13 that we need to correct Him because He doesn't know?
The term Day of the Lord uses the adjective kyriakós (which is derived from 2962 /kýrios, "lord"). Properly, it means pertaining to or belonging to the Lord (kyrios). This same adjective is used to describe the Lord's Supper (also called the Lord's table) This is not a rumor started by the Catholic Church (no matter what Ellen White wrote). Christians began gathering together on Sunday for a good reason - that was the day Jesus rose from the dead.

White's teaching that not keeping Shabbat is "the mark of the beast" is as ludicrous as it is self-serving. By condemning all other Churches to hell she was attempting to write off all who opposed her (false) teaching. The Greek word for mark (of the beast) is
charagma (χάραγμα) which does NOT indicate a symbolic behavior or practice. Literally, it means a scratch, etching, or a stamp ON THE PHYSICAL BODY.
The day of the Lord has never been connected to the first day not once in Scripture- man added this, something God told us plainly not to.

The mark of the beast of over worship this is what God's Word says plainly. When do people worship God either the Sabbath or Sunday. Only one of those is a commandment of God Exo20:8-11, only one of those came with the power of God's Blessing Exo20:11 Isa56:2 and Sanctification Gen2:3 Eze20:12 the other is a man-made tradition which Jesus ,not EGW said when we lay aside the commandment of God for traditions of man, our heart is far from Him and our worship to Him is in vain Mark7:7-13 Mat15:3-14

So does man decide how to obey God or is it up to God. One makes man a servant to God Isa56:6, the other God's corrector. I guess we need to decide which camp we are on.


Lets look at the resurrection of Christ and see who Christ first appeared to and if that changed God's Sabbath commandment.

Mark 16:1

“Now when the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices, that they might come and anoint Him.”

Matthew 27:61–28:1

“And Mary Magdalene was there, and the other Mary, sitting opposite the tomb…
Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.”

Luke 24:1

“Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared.”

Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

No, the issue is cults that twist God's word and try to impose their false doctrines on others. Some of us are awake to you.

I'll say it again, not for you but for some who might fall for your selective interpretation of scripture. "Hear O Israel". Not, "Hear O Gentiles"
