  • “Therefore, having left the discourse of the beginning of Christ, let us go on to full growth, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,” (Hebrews 6.1).
  • “Now faith is [the] foundation of things hoped for, [the] conviction of things not seen.” (Hebrews 11.1).

The third foundation is the faith. Faith stands for trust, which is based on what we know about Jesus. If we don’t know Jesus very well, we can end up mopey like Elijah (1King 19.1-4). Although his ministry was in perfect tuning with the Creator (seven thousand was preserved by the Creator through the prophecy of Elijah – 1Kings 19.18), he felt busted. Instead of holding on to the aftermaths that we expect, let’s bank on Jesus Christ and His word.

Compare these two kinds of faith:

1 - “By faith Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac. And he who had received the promises offered up his only-begotten son, of whom it was said that in Isaac your Seed shall be called, concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from where he even received him, in a figure.” (Hebrews 11.17-19).

Abraham offered Isaac because He trusted in the reality of the promise that was given to him by the Creator, that is, even if Isaac was sacrificed, he won’t die because there was a promise on his life and the Creator doesn’t change (Numbers 23.19; Malachi 3.6).

“2 - Then his sisters sent to Him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom You love is sick. When Jesus heard, He said, This sickness is not to death, but for the glory of God, so that the Son of God might be glorified by it.” (John 11.3,4).

If we believe that Jesus is God, therefore He is who defines the reality (Exodus 3.14). If Jesus said that Lazarus won’t die, therefore everyone must had believed in this. If fact, if you observe all the narrative in John 11, you will see that Jesus spoke about Lazarus as someone alive.

Only in John 11.14 Jesus mentioned Lazarus as someone dead, and this because it was thus that all people (including Martha and Mary) considered him. However, if Jesus says something about someone, don’t matter if the person reeks, is all bound, left in a deep cave blocked by a large boulder, to Jesus this person is alive and, duly, this person will hear the voice of Jesus and will get out of this situation or place that they are in right away.

So, have a grandiose weekend, but this involve practicing your faith in Jesus taking away all stones that hampers the miracle of Jesus in your life. Even if all around looks like reeking, go ahead and don’t allow the order to “remove the bounds” slips your mind.
