A lot of people out there, hey, maybe even you think that going to heaven is all based whether or not you sin right?? Well, I’m here to prove you wrong. That’s not what God wants. That’s the opposite of what God wants. God wants us. All of us. More of our spirits. He doesn’t care about our colour, weight, height, or any of our flaws. He made us! He doesn’t even care if your rich, poor, smart, brave or anything else. All that he cares about is whether or not we believe what he has done. Yes! It doesn’t even matter if you sin!! If going to heaven is based on our sin, my friends, I don’t think that any of us will be going there. But NO!! it’s not based on our sin. It never was, and never will be. What God wants is different. Well..what God wants is what all of you would find impossible to believe. But God did it!! What God wants is for us is to believe that we are sinless and righteous. Yes! But how?? And why?? Well, let me explain.
Like I said earlier, if going to heaven was based on our sins, we’d all be doomed. Like it says in Romans 3:23, Since all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory which God bestows and receives.There was no way we could go to heaven. But God made a way. How?? Well… He sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ unto this earth. But why?? Why did God do that? Well, God did that because that was what He wanted to fulfill. That was the Righteousness of God, to save the sinners of the world. But how could God do that?? Yes. Like I said earlier, God sent His one and only son, Jesus Christ. Like it says in Romans 5:19, For just as by one man’s disobedience (failing to hear, heedlessness, and carelessness) the many were constituted sinners, so by one Man’s obedience the many will be constituted righteous (made acceptable to God, brought into right standing with Him).This verse clearly says that because we were disobedient to God, we were made sinners, and by Jesus’ obedience, to God, we will be made righteous. It clearly says there!! But why is it so hard for many people to believe?? Ok, you see, Jesus’ obedience means His obedience to God the Heavenly Father. Why?? Because like I said earlier, God sent Jesus to earth to fulfill the His righteousness ( righteousness of God ) So that through Jesus, we could all be made sinless and righteous. But how did Jesus make us sinless and righteous? Ok, let’s start at the beginning, the beginning of where it all began. Matthew 3:13-17 says, Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to John to be baptized by him. But John protested strenuously, having in mind to prevent Him, saying, It is I who have need to be baptized by You, and do You come to me? But Jesus replied to him, Permit it just now; for this is the fitting way for [both of] us to fulfill all righteousness [that is, to perform completely whatever is right]. Then he permitted Him. And, when Jesus was baptized, He went up at once out of the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he [John] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And behold, a voice from heaven said, This is My Son, My Beloved, in Whom I delight! Baptism? You may ask how and why does everything start from there. Well, look at the words I underlined, read it again? Good. Now you see, John didn’t want to baptize Jesus, but Jesus said that it is the only way that the both of them could fulfill all righteousness. Righteousness of what? Remember, righteousness of God, which was and is to save the sinners of the world. But why?? What does Jesus’ baptism have to do with anything? Well, Jesus’ baptism has to do with everything. You see, after Jesus got baptized, the heavens opened right? Okay, and after that the Spirit of God descended like a dove and alighted on him. And after that, a voice from heaven said “ This is My Son, My Beloved, In Whom I Delight. Well, what was the purpose of God doing all that?? Well, God did that because he was delighted that Jesus took all the sins of the world upon Him. Yes! You read it right. Jesus took all the sins of the world upon Him. But how did Jesus take all the sins of the world? You see, John represented mankind. That’s why Jesus said that it was the only way for both of them to fulfill the righteousness of God. So you see, when John baptized Jesus, all the sins of the world was passed onto Jesus. Still not convinced that the baptism is also a crucial part in determining whether or not you go to heaven or to hell?? Well, here’s a few verses to help you be more convinced.
1 Peter 3:21, And baptism, which is a figure [of their deliverance], does now also save you [from inward questionings and fears], not by the removing of outward body filth [bathing], but by [providing you with] the answer of a good and clear conscience (inward cleanness and peace) before God [because you are demonstrating what you believe to be yours] through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
1 John 5:6, This is He Who came by (with) water and blood [ His baptism and His death], Jesus Christ (the Messiah)—not by (in) the water only, but by (in) the water and the blood. And it is the [Holy] Spirit Who bears witness, because the [Holy] Spirit is the Truth.
Acts 19:4, And Paul said, John baptized with the baptism of repentance, continually telling the people that they should believe in the One Who was to come after him, that is, in Jesus [having a conviction full of joyful trust that He is Christ, the Messiah, and being obedient to Him].
Now are you convinced?? Because that’s only 1/3 of the whole well, truth. Gospel Truth of the water (baptism), blood (death)and spirit (resurrection) to be exact. Now that was water, now here’s blood.
The blood of Jesus Christ clearly means His death, but why did Jesus have to die? Why? Well, Jesus had to die, because it was to fulfill the righteousness of God. But, he also had to die, to take our sins away. So that we can declare ourselves to be sinless and righteous. But also because sin = death. Like it says in Romans 6:23, For the wages which sin pays is death, but the [bountiful] free gift of God is eternal life through (in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord. So, Jesus had to die. That was the only way he could free us from the bondages of sin. But why are people still feeling condemned whenever they sin? Didn’t Jesus say “ It is Finished” ? Like in John 19:28-30, After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished (ended), said in fulfillment of the Scripture, I thirst. A vessel (jar) full of sour wine (vinegar) was placed there, so they put a sponge soaked in the sour wine on [a stalk, reed of] hyssop, and held it to [His] mouth. When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, It is finished! And He bowed His head and gave up His spirit.
Didn’t Jesus clearly say it is finished? Why is it so hard for people to understand? It says in Ephesians 2:1-10.
And in Ephesians 2:13-15, But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were [so] far away, through (by, in) the blood of Christ have been brought near. For He is [Himself] our peace (our bond of unity and harmony). He has made us both [Jew and Gentile] one [body], and has broken down (destroyed, abolished) the hostile dividing wall between us, By abolishing in His [own crucified] flesh the enmity [caused by] the Law with its decrees and ordinances [which He annulled]; that He from the two might create in Himself one new man [one new quality of humanity out of the two], so making peace.
And in Romans 6:1-14.
Now that we’ve done that, let me tell you about the spirit
The spirit clearly talks about Jesus’ resurrection, we have to believe that Jesus resurrected three days after his death. When Jesus died, we died with him, and when he rose, we too rose.
This Gospel Truth of Water ( baptism ), Blood ( death ), and Spirit ( Resurrection ) is the only way we can go to heaven. But reading this gospel is one thing, believing it is another. We have to believe in this Gospel so that the Holy Spirit can enter into our hearts. And so that God can reign in our hearts forever. We also have to keep reminding ourselves everyday that we are sinless and righteous. Not only remind ourselves, but also believe that. It’s the truth.
Like in Romans 6:1-23,
Believe In this truth. Thank God for giving you this opportunity. Now the choice is all up to you, whether you choose to believe this truth or not. It’s your life on the line. Right now, this may sound unimportant and worthless to you, but, when your time is up, and you’re asking God for forgiveness, don’t say that you didn’t have enough time. God gave you all the time in the world. It all comes down to whether you want to accept it or not. The choice is yours. Choose the right one. You won’t be sorry. And remember, YOU ARE SINLESS AND RIGHTEOUS NOT BECAUSE OF YOUR OWN WORKS, BUT BECAUSE OF WHAT JESUS CHRIST HAS DONE FOR YOU.
