I judge myself. And I am glad when someone speaks sharply with me. When the words cut deep, because it causes me to examine myself. A person on here, said something that cut me deep. It did. He said that I do not even have the first idea of the truth. I was cut indeed. So this lead me to wonder why. It lead me to wonder if I was really in the truth. And I looked over my old posts, assuming I was wrong and everyone else was right, and there were a few people that were right. But then I now see that the turning point of our lives is in the heart. My what I said seemed harsh when they fall on hard hearts, but when they are heard by soft hearts, as another friend of mine pointed out, they really edify. I was rebuked by the same words I spoke. Which were not my words at all. And it reminded me of a time in my life a:
I worked at this job, and I was getting tired of it. I grew more disdain for it, and I actually became rather rebellious, (I was the most rebellious person I knew NO FEAR!). And I really dishonored my bosses in my heart. Even though I did what they said, my heart wasn't in it. And God chastised me, who sees my heart, and he holds me accountable to the thoughts of my heart. He doesn't let me go unpunished, I am thankful for that today. I am thankful for rebuke, that causes me to see my error and CHANGE!! Anyhow, one night I got so pressed down, and I prayed the Lord to help me. And I told him I would honor my boss, and do my work as if I were doing it for him.
That next morning when I went to work, even before I began to work really, one of my bosses said, '' I LIKE THIS NEW YOU.'' I was shocked, and I just smiled. It must have been the glory of God. Every time I want to remember the condition of my heart at that time, I always hear it in Psalms. So let me look for it (I KNOW IT IS IN THERE!)
Psa 26:2 Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
Psa 38:8 I am feeble and sore broken: I have roared by reason of the disquietness of my heart.
Psa 38:9 Lord, all my desire is before thee; and my groaning is not hid from thee.
Psa 38:10 My heart panteth, my strength faileth me: as for the light of mine eyes, it also is gone from me.
Psa 38:11 My lovers and my friends stand aloof from my sore; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
Psa 79:8 O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.
Psa 79:9 Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.
Psa 3:3 But thou, O LORD, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Psa 3:4 I cried unto the LORD with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah.
Psa 3:5 I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.
Psa 57:9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
Psa 57:10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
Psa 57:11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.
