The two callings: what will you choice? (Part 8-0)
• “He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” (Pro 9:7-10).
These verse is a parenthesis used to explain what is “the way of understanding” (Pro 9:6). Two thing we can learn:
FIRST: don’t try to force the wicked to do what is right.
- “He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame”: try to bawl out mockers only will abash us before people around us, giving room to Ha-Satan abet our wrath which, beyond don’t bring Jesus’ justice (Jas 1:20), can shame the Creator’s name.
- “he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot.”: chew out the perverse only will attract their wrath against us. In order to parry their attacks, our heart can be smeared by sin.
- “Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee”: chide scorners will make them hate us and the order is: “If it is possible, as far as is in you, being in peace with all men.” (Rom 12:18).
Although injustice is something obnoxious, instead of undertaking the responsibility for the amends of the world, fear of the LORD because this is the beginning of wisdom. Once He is the righteous Judge and didn’t divide this office with anybody, let’s give in to His wish and obey the following commandment:
- “not avenging yourselves, beloved, but giving place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord." (Rom 12:19).
Have a good day let Jesus assuage the heavy yoke of the vengeance of your back (Matt 11:28).
