“In the beginning God created
the heaven
and the earth.” . Genesis 1:1
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good….
Genesis 1:31 KJV
“The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's:
But the earth hath he given to the children of men.” . Psalm 115:16 KJV
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.”
Genesis 6:5-7, 12-13 KJV
as the Old Testament continues on we see that he spared a remnant through grace being Noah and his family because Noah was a faithful man
but as it goes on we see the consistent theme of God forgiving mans telling then how to be his people , and then later man rebels and does everything he said not to d nothing he said to do so then he brings all the warnings he made of destruction to pass
when the messianic prophets really get going we see that the earth is going to end the creation he made on the beginning is temporal
The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant.
Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left. Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.”
Isaiah 24:3-6, 17, 19-20 KJV
and later we see it’s going to be part of the judgement and perdition of the ungodly
“but the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,”
2 Peter 3:7, 10-11 KJV
eventually we have this clear simple image of the first creation we live in now created in the beginning
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
Genesis 1:1 KJV
and then because he said it’s going to end he also promised this new creation
“ Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.
Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof. “
Isaiah 42:9-10 KJV
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth:
and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.”
Isaiah 65:1
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. And he that sat upon the throne said,
Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.”
Revelation 21:1, 3-5 KJV
sort of the Bible begins with the world we know and see but it says this has an end and there’s another better place for believers a new world without death and everything that we caused in this creation through sin
just a good thought d study to consider when reading the Bible sometimes God is talking about this earth , other times he’s talking about the heaven and earth he’s promised us our promised land with Jesus
it helps to grasp because you start noticing a ton of things and begin to think about them a lot more
“Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:”
1 Corinthians 2:6 KJV
“Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.”
John 18:36 KJV
“and have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,”
Hebrews 6:5 KJV
“For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak.”
Hebrews 2:5 KJV
“who shall not receive manifold more in this present time, and in the world to come life everlasting.”
Luke 18:30
“I came forth from the Father, ( in heaven ) and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.”
John 16:28 KJV
my point is just that to realize that there are two realms the Bible often discusses , two worlds earthly and heavenly the fleshly and spiritual the tenporal And eternal the first creation and the one he’s promised to
Bring us into
just that there is another place we go ahen we leave this place , another world he’s made that’s like it was made good and perfect
“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.”
2 Peter 3:13 KJV
no more sin but peace and love and joy and no more death and sorrow …. Eternal Life with Jesus in a paradise we can’t even comprehend fully yet
“And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
Luke 23:43 KJV
Just some scripture to consider there are two creations spoken forth by God in scripture , one present and a better one promised , no when we’re studying often if you look at the nuance of the context ot determines if it’s speaking of this world or the promised land to come
hope that makes sense it helps study of other topics to consider there’s a lot about both creations in there a lot about the present and future and even a lot of the past
