The vengeance belongs to the Creator (Rom 2:19)
Many times, we insist on getting back at someone who did harm against us. See this case, though:
• “Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches. In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had. And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.” (John 5.2-5).
This infirm didn’t have anyone whom get help from. Taking into account that this infirm got in this state for sake of his sin (John 5.14), it’s doable that he made himself into infirm in virtue of him sin against the people around him. If we break up with someone, let’s hurry up in getting back together with them.
As to the harm that was done to us, let’s go after the example of Paul:
• “If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account; I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.” (Phm 1.18,19).
Let’s put all on the account of Jesus. Duly He’ll give us thing much better than whatever the offender can refund us.
