Then remembered I… (Acts 11:16)

Peter’s statement points to the Holy Ghost bringing a memory to the forefront of his mind for a specific purpose. One can imagine Peter’s shock and amazement as Cornelius and others began speaking in tongues as they received the Holy Ghost right there before his very eyes. Now there could be no question. The Gentiles were accepted of God. And just as the people assembled on the Day of Pentecost were commanded to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus for the remission of sins, so too were the Gentiles gathered before him. (Acts 10)

Whether a person is consciously aware of the extent of their prophetic utterances, such as Peter’s on the Day of Pentecost, has no bearing concerning God’s intent. Many fail to realize that God doesn’t necessarily present the big picture but reveals His plans with perfect timing for His own purposes. This is clearly seen in the fact that Peter professed that the promise given on the Day of Pentecost was to as many as the Lord they God shall call. Yet, he did not know at that time that the Gentiles would be called as well. Clearly one cannot dispute that it was God who called Cornelius. God actually sent an angel to Cornelius telling him to seek out Peter in order to get instructions concerning how to be saved. (Acts 10:1-6)

Acts 10:28 Indicates Jews and Gentiles are all equal.

Acts 10:35 States that he who fears God and works righteousness is accepted of Him.

Acts 10:43, specifically states that THROUGH HIS NAME whosoever believeth in Him shall receive remission of sins. As recorded in Acts 2:38, everyone is commanded to be baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus for what? For the remission of sins.

In Acts 15 we see Peter stating that by his mouth the Gentiles heard the word of the gospel and believed. (Acts 15:7-9) He said that there was no distinction between Jews and Gentiles. Both groups are redeemed in the same way. (Acts 15:11) All are required to believe and obey the gospel message. (Rom. 10:16)

Did you notice that Peter didn't remember what Jesus said in Acts 1:5 "Holy Spirit baptism" but Peter said water in Acts 2:38 and quoted what Jesus had said in Acts 11:16 verbatim?

Did you notice Paul was given a "night vision" in which Jesus revealed to him the same thing as Peter (Acts 11:15-17) "the way of God more perfectly" (Acts 18:26) for baptism rather than a water baptism (Acts 18:25)?

Did you notice after Paul received his "night vision" (Acts 18:9-10; 25-26) but it's alleged Paul somehow "forgot God" (Psalm 9:17) gave him a "night vision" and started water baptizing these already water baptized "John's disciples" (Acts 19:5) again making them "repent" and "believe Jesus was coming" (Acts 19:4) AGAIN?

Did you notice Jesus does the "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5) "with the Holy Ghost" (John 1:33) who gives "POWER" (Acts 1:8) to "QUICKEN" our "DEAD spirits" (Rm 5:12-14) "back to life" (Eph 2:1) His "POWER received to become the sons of God" (John 1:12-13)?

Did you notice Romans 6:23 says THE GIFT is eternal life" and THE GIFT is defined as Holy Spirit baptism in Acts 11:17?

Did you notice Hebrews 9:22 says "Without blood there is no remission" but Acts 2:38 alleges water baptism remits sins?

Did you notice I John 1:7 says "...the blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sins?"

Just asking since there's only "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5) that Jesus does "with the Holy Ghost" (John 1:33) Who is "PERFECT" (Acts 18:26; Psalm 18:30) why do today's Christians believe in adding (Proverbs 30:6) a powerless do nothing water baptism onto what Jesus does PERFECTLY just because of writings in a book?

How do rectify the two baptisms alleged in Scripture after the cross when Ephesians 4:5 says "one baptism?"

I did notice how you just tried to invented a dichotomy between what the Holy Spirit revealed to Peter in acts 11:16 and what Jesus said in Acts 1:5 making the Holy Scripture contradict each other.

The order for salvation of the world, under OT prophecy, is as follows
  1. Cross happened in the 69th week
  2. Anti Christ comes for one week bringing Jacob's Trouble/Tribulation
  3. Israel the nation saved by the 2nd coming of Christ after the 70th week. (Zechariah 14:1-7)
  4. Christ dwell in Jerusalem (Zechariah 8:3)
  5. Every gentile comes to salvation thru the Jews (Zechariah 8:32)
Every Jew during the Acts period is aware of that timetable, thanks to Daniel. This chart summed it up pretty well

chart larkin peak of prophecy.png
Daniel and the OT prophets did not have our viewpoint, which is the valley of the Body of Christ. We have the advantage of being born in this era when we realized that God always had us in his mind, which is the valley in the above pic.

I did notice how you just tried to invented a dichotomy between what the Holy Spirit revealed to Peter in acts 11:16 and what Jesus said in Acts 1:5 making the Holy Scripture contradict each other.
Can you rectify two baptisms after the cross in which man does one "worshiping with men's hands" (Acts 17:25) in Matthew 28:19 and other added scriptures and Jesus does the other "baptizing with the Holy Ghost" (John 1:33; Acts 1:5) after which we receive power to become the sons of God (John 1:12-13) while the other does nothing?

Since Romans 6:23 says "the gift is eternal" and "the gift" is defined as Holy Spirit baptism in Acts 11:17, then water baptism does nothing to remit sins. Hebrews 9:22 says "Without blood their is no remission" Consequently, without Holy Spirit baptism we remain "DEAD spirits" (Romans 5:12-14; I Corinthians 15:21-22) without His power coming upon us (Acts 1:8) after Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 1:5) Who "Quickens us back to life" (Ephesians 2:1) from our "DEAD spirits. Otherwise "God is not the God of the DEAD" (Mark 12:27).

Can you rectify two baptisms with one being useless after the cross when Jesus gave His last commandment to "Wait for the Promise" (Acts 1:4) of Holy Spirit baptism (Acts 1:5) to receive power (Acts 1:8) to become the sons of God (John 1:12-13)?

Didn't Jesus say Holy Spirit baptism in Acts 1:5?

Didn't Peter say water baptism in Acts 2:38?

Since "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5) doesn't Jesus rule?

Water baptism was required from all Israel in order for them to be a nation of priests, under the gospel of the kingdom.

The Holy Spirit baptism in Acts 1:5 was to empower the 11 to preach with signs and wonders, as required whenever someone preach to Israel.

The one baptism in Ephesians 4:5 was a mystery only to be revealed later to Paul, after the fall of Israel.

So there is no contradiction there.

Sorry, but you cannot mix the Holy Spirit within (born again) with the Holy Spirit upon (baptism in the Holy Spirit). These are two separate moves of the Holy Spirit for two distinct purposes. The "power" in Acts 1 is power to witness.

Granted, we get the power of the Holy Spirit INSIDE when we are born again, but this is power to quit sinning!

Jesus gave us an illustration of THE WIND in John 3:8 saying "So is every one that is born of the Spirit"

GOD commanded the Prophet Ezekiel to "Prophesy unto THE WIND, prophesy, son of man, and say to THE WIND, Thus saith the LORD GOD; Come from the four WINDS, O breath, an breathe upon these slain, that they may live" in Ezekiel 37:9.

"...So is every one that is born of the Spirit" (John 3:8)!

The Prophet Ezekiel's prophecy was FULFILLED on the Day of Pentecost when [paraphrasing] "Suddenly THE WIND filled the house where they were sitting" (Acts 2:2) "And the were all filled with the Holy Ghost" (Acts 2:4).

"...So is every one that is born of the Spirit" (John 3:8)!

Jesus promised "...but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost..." (Acts 1:5) and "...ye shall receive POWER after that the Holy Ghost comes upon you: and ye shall be a WITNESS UNTO ME..." (Acts 1:8).

"But as many as received Him, to them gave He POWER [Received after Holy Spirit baptism; Acts 1:5; 8] to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name:

Which were BORN ["Again" John 3:5-8; I Peter 1:23], not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but OF GOD" (John 1:12-13)!

"For by One Spirit are we all baptized into One body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into One Spirit" (I Corinthians 12:13)!

"But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of His" (Romans 8:9).

Your interpretation causes too many contradictions is scripture. So yeah... No.

Consequently the POWER in Acts 1 is "to be a witness upon Him" (Acts 1:8) of "His resurrection" (Acts 1:22) that we received when Jesus "choose and ordains us" (John 15:16; Acts 1:22) to become Christians (John 1:12-13) when "He baptizes us with the Holy Ghost" (John 1:33; Acts 1:5) and to WITNESS to unbelievers His "POWER" (Acts 1:8) of "Spiritual gifts" we receive (I Corinthians 12:7-10) after Holy Spirit baptism (I Corinthians 12:13) and "Signs following" (Mark 16:17-18) Holy Spirit baptism (Mark 16:16) that is our PROOF that we are Christians (I Thessalonians 5:21; KJV; II Timothy 4:5; II Corinthians 13:5).

IT IS WRITTEN!

Therefore NOT a "private interpretation" but from one "moved by the Holy Ghost" (II Peter 1:20-21) to whom GOD commanded Jeremiah 1:10!

No one can "overthrow" (Acts 5:39) Jesus did not give us an illustration of THE WIND in John 3:8 saying "So it is every one born of the Spirit" (John 3:8).

No one can "overthrow" (Acts 5:39) God did not command Ezekiel to "Prophesy to THE WIND to blow upon those slain that they might live" (Ezekiel 37:9).

No one can "overthrow" (Acts 5:39) Jesus promised He would fulfill Ezekiel's prophecy (Matthew 5:17-18).

No one can "overthrow (Acts 5:39) Jesus fulfilled Ezekiel's prophecy on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2:2-4).

"But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God" (Acts 5:39)!

The one baptism in Ephesians 4:5 was a mystery only to be revealed later to Paul, after the fall of Israel.

So there is no contradiction there.
Water baptism was "sent" to John the Baptist (John 1:33) as prophesied in Isaiah 40:3 and Malachi 3:1 that was administered to people UNDER THE LAW who "repented" and "believed Jesus was coming" (Acts 19:4) with the REAL baptism "...with the Holy Ghost" (John 1:33) Who is the "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5).

Jesus promised "Holy Spirit baptism" (Acts 1:5) and "Afterwards POWER" (Acts 1:8).

Peter said in Acts 2:39

"For the promise [Holy Spirit baptism with power; Acts 1:4-5;8] is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call."

Therefore it's not true that "The Holy Spirit baptism in Acts 1:5 was to empower the 11 to preach with signs and wonders, as required to preach to Israel" when Jesus gives all He's "chosen and ordained" (John 15:16) when "He baptizes us with the Holy Ghost" (John 1:33; Acts 1:5) to be Christians (Acts 1:22) "POWER" (Acts 1:8) to become the sons of GOD" (John 1:12-13).

You are mixing up a few scriptures.

1. Paul's night vision pertained to Paul being encouraged to speak the gospel regardless of the unbelieving Jews attempts to stop him. (Acts 18:9-12)

2. You then reference Acts 18:25-26. These scriptures record Aquila and Priscilla instructing Apollos the way of God more perfectly. Notice Apollos was only aware of John's water baptism for repentance. We can conclude from the scripture that immediately follows (Acts 19:1-6) that Apollos was told about the need to be water baptized in Jesus' name and the need to receive the Holy Ghost as well.
This is clearly seen in Paul's comments to the Ephesus disciples that had only submitted to John's baptism as well. Paul gave instructions for them to be rebaptized in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Paul's comments make it clear that the water baptism John preached was an introduction to what would later require the use of the name of the Lord Jesus Christ upon belief in Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. Water baptism is one requirement for experiencing the NT spiritual rebirth:

Acts 18:25-19:6
This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John.

And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly.
And when he was disposed to pass into Achaia, the brethren wrote, exhorting the disciples to receive him: who, when he was come, helped them much which had believed through grace:
For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.

Acts 19:1-6
And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Peter did remember what Jesus said. Jesus was referencing what was soon to come; the baptism of the Holy Ghost. He did not say it would replace water baptism.

Notice Peter stated both were required of every one. He commanded everyone be water baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and they could expect to receive the gift of the Holy 'Ghost as well. The gift of the Holy Ghost is the baptism of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38)

"Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." Acts 2:38
Do you know the word "but" put contrast on water baptism in Matthew 3:11; Mark 1:8, Luke 3:16, John 1:33; Acts 1:5; Acts 11:16 replacing water baptism?

If BOTH are required that belief defies Ephesians 4:5 saying "one baptism" when Acts 10:44 shows Holy Spirit baptism and Acts 10:47 shows water baptism are two separate events.

"...for the remission of sins..." (Acts 2:38)?

When Hebrews 9:22 says "Without blood there is no remission?"

Jesus had just said "Holy Spirit baptism" in Acts 1:5

BUT Peter said water in Acts 2:38.

After assisting John the Baptist baptizing people UNDER THE LAW (John 4:2; Acts 19:4), Peter had the mind-set [As do today's Christians] baptism meant with water (Acts 2:38) but Jesus said with "the Holy Ghost" (Acts 1:5) the "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5) who also believed water baptism was for "the remission of sins" but we'd have no need for "the blood" (Hebrews 9:22) if that was the case. "...the blood of His Son Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sins" (I John 1:7).

Did you notice Jesus does the "one baptism" (Ephesians 4:5)
Ephesians 4:4-5 references the Spirit (v4), and one baptism (v5). This lines up with all recorded spiritual rebirth experiences; water and Spirit are both required. Jesus said it in John 3:3. And the apostles instructed everyone Jew, Gentile, Samaritans to comply. (Acts 2, 8, and 10) Every living person today came from one of those lineages.
