P
I hear so many people providing this, and the next, scripture as proof of a rapture. The bible never says such a thing, nor do I believe it, as Christ setting foot literally on this earth again.
Taken, in this context, means being received. We shall be received by Christ. Left, here is sent away. Every human that has ever been on this planet (except the three that are already there) will leave earth at that time. One small group to be with Christ, and one large group to go the opposite direction. The earth will be destroyed. A new heaven and a new earth is our abode in the life eternal.
We will be caught up in the air to meet Him - not to bring Him back to earth, after all He already knows how to get here, but to escort us to our home eternal - someplace we have to be shown how to go to since we have never been there.
