i try not to be selfish. really. i do. but i have this prayer request because i feel like i cant do this without help anymore.

i am a manager at mcdonalds. because i choose to be. i love my job. most days anyways. but lately i keep getting into trouble for my drive thru and grill area times not being where they should be. i always try my hardest and always end up failing. i am getting so very stressed out just from constantly getting yelled at for this. i try my hardest and i know i am a good manager. i been doing this for almost 5 years now. but i just really think prayer is the only thing that will get me through. most of you probably dont care about my times, but for the sake of my sanity and my health, and even my job... please pray.

i would also like to add in that for the people that think mcdonalds is just a job for people who were too lazy to go to college, i did go to college. but in the end, this is what i like to do. but still i get looked down upon, cussed out on a daily basis by customers, and have had shakes and random other things thrown in my face. i just pray that people will stop thinking this is the easiest job in the world and that it takes no skill to do it. that is my biggest pet peeve. especially when we get super busy, a lot of times it takes everything i have in me to not just walk out. i have had customers tell me before that they could do my job much better than i do. sometimes i am so tempted to just say well come on lets see it. you deal with each and every customer complaint, you deal with teenagers that dont want to do what you ask, and deal with your boss yelling at you when your labor is too high and your times are too high. lets also see you do all of this with a smile on your face.

I am so sorry you are going through this, and It takes a lot of courage to sit here and vent it all. As a management position, people will never like you because you are a manager* . No one likes to be told what to do. At least though you have a job and can go to college, were I am not so fortunate. And my dream is to be someone in life. Also, remember that you were not given the position if you were not seen fit to take all the responsibility and bologna it comes with. You were given it for a reason, you were blessed because you were seen fit, with something special to be a manager

I worked at mic-ds myself35 yrs ago, when I worked there women still struggled to be managers,
so instead I trained the men who would be managers. :)
I remember how stressfull the job can be.
Take a line from scripture as your help in Jesus.
Do all things as unto the Lord and not unto man.
You are in my prayers in Jesus Christ is Lord!

Hugs and God bless.

Dear Lovedlady,

I can identify. I work in a convenience store. I'm not the manager...nor do I want to be. It is hard work...mentally as well as physically. I always tried to be curteous before to cashiers. Now it's doubly so.
You're in my prayers.

Dear Jesus,

Please help lovedlady with her times as she needs and help her plant seeds of encouragement and faith in her staff and boss. Make her smile real from the Joy in her heart knowing she serves not man, but You, O Lord.
Amen

God bless!

God bless your heart, lovedlady! When I was young I was in a similar job, one customer got out of their car and tried to come through the window after me! My son is in a cutomer service job ( rated one of the top 10 most types of most stressful jobs) And wow the stories of what he has to go through in a day with what people say are even hard to hear! God sees and appreciates what you are going through. He builds strength, patience, compassion in us that we would not have otherwise. It also prepares us for the hard things we will have to face in the future in our lives.

My heart goes out to you. You are showing alot of courage to keep going on. You need to give yourself alot of tender loving care, be extra kind and gentle with yourself and encourage yourself. David talks in 42:5 about encouraging himself.

I really appreciate the work you do!!! Remember our Lord was spit on and beaten and insults were hurled at Him. I pray lovedlady that God will wrap His loving arms of comfort around you, strengthen you, and fill you with peace and joy. Remember God is empathetic to what you are going through. He is smiling down on you and saying, thats my daughter, I am proud of her, look at the good job she is doing! I commend you for your patience and fortitude, lovedlady, and I will pray for you. Thank you for sharing your prayer request. It is an honor to pray for you!!

PS.....sorry that reference was PSALMS 42:5..."Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God."

YOU WILL YET PRAISE HIM EVEN FOR THIS. GOD NEVER WASTES ANYTHING, HE USES ALL THINGS, ESPECIALLY THE DIFFICULT THINGS FOR OUR GOOD.

AND WE KNOW THAT IN ALL THINGS GOD WORKS FOR THE GOOD OF THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.......ROMANS 8:28

GOD BLESS YOU! I SEE YOUR HEART IN YOUR WORDS AND I LOVE YOUR SWEET SPIRIT!:)

The Lord will not put more on you than you can bare, I remember having to pray a lot at my job, which was a lot of responsibility.
I learned to pray over the building, myself ect before I would walk in. I would bind every spirit and demon ,plead the blood of Jesus
over the place and myself.and then thank god for helping me. This would make for some pleasent days. Also the bible says when the
spirit of the Lord is upon you, you will have people yell at you.

Lovelady one more thing when I was a baby in the Lord, I was managing a store,I always praed God would send somone for me to
minister to. well a lady came in ministered to her invited her to church, was having a wonderful day, all excited ect.. then the older
women relieved me came in y elling at me,da da da da she ended up blacking my eye.my pastor said the enemy used a weaker vessell
to come against me.Well the lady I ministered to has been my sis in the lord now for 18 yrs, best friends. I always tell her something
good is going to come from you cause I got a black eye.

Lovedlady, I worked at McDonalds for two years as crew. It's hard to smile at people you don't know, customer after customer, all day long. I'm not the people type, so I got many complaints. And even if you offend a customer in the slightest way, they will make up a lie to get you in trouble. That happened to me several times.

You are in my prayers. And remember there are many struggling as you are:

1 Peter 5:9
9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

My hubby worked as a manager at the same fast food restaurant (not McDonalds) for 19+ years before moving on to a managerial position at a gas station. My youngest daughter works as a trainee for a managerial position at another fast food restaurant (not McDonalds either) It is hard work, and not appreciated by many. Managers put in long hours. They are called back in after going home after those long hours. Cell phones make it even harder for them to get any true time off. You say you do enjoy this.....you chose the position even after going to college. Bless you for knowing what you enjoy even with its hard work and upsets!!! Focus on that!! Remind yourself of why you chose to dedicate yourself to such a schedule and career. Take that deep breath and remember to deligate where and when you can to make it all work. Venting here isn't a bad thing........just remember to also think about the positives of any given day. Let them sink into you as you get ready to face the next day the "boss" comes in. God Bless......may tomorrow be a day that makes you think "Now THIS is why I love my job!!!"

praying for you. hardest job i ever had was working at Long John Silvers. seems like everywhere you look there is someone crunching numbers and if you don't hit their target they're all over you. i pray you have a good day and make your numbers.

GOD BLESS YOU!

You are a manager at one of the largest fast food chains in the world. I know you must work your butt off, and i cant imagine the stress that comes with a job like that, i tell ya there is no way in the world i could do it. I wouldn't be able to handle the stress of it all. I really believe it takes a special type of person to work in customer service.
Having said all of that, i will pray for you and im sorry things seem to be going so crummy for you.

Well, i can tell you now people are always going to look down on you for working at that level. I have worked a lot of retail jobs and have had to endure plenty of abuse and criticism as well. It goes with working with the public. Period. And the 'lower' the job the more you can expect poor treatment. Some people seem to cope well with it and take it in stride, others, such as you and i, don't handle it well. We just have to learn to cope with it.

Ironically, in my jobs i often have had problems with not being fast enough as well. I can totally relate to that frustration and trying to figure out how you can be faster. If i stand this way, put these here, do this, do that, but nothing seems to get you where you need to be. I feel you there. So frustrating.

thank you everyone.

ugly, its not that i am not fast is the problem. when i was a crew person i was awesome. the thing is, its like trying to play a board game without actually playing it. i have to coach others to do their job as good as i did when i did that. and a lot of people either dont care as much as i do, or they just cant do it. so its like teaching others to play the game but having to try to get them to do it without actually doing it for them. that way i can deal with everythig that is going on all at the same time.

oh, and i would also like to point out that i was spit on by a customer today. thats right. saliva from their mouth on my shirt. bc everything seemed to be wrong for this person. he called the 800 number and left a 9 minute message about how much my store sucked.

thank you everyone for prayers. honestly, my last couple shifts have gone much much better :)

I like what Pickles said. To do everything as unto the Lord. Don't you know my friend, that if you were to do the Lords's work with the same passion, you receive the same treatment? Perhaps the Lord is training you for something greater!!!

Now you can pray with meaning. Now you understand what it really means to be sold out for Jesus!! HAHA! I know how you feel though. And it makes me judge myself, as to how I treat people. I know I don't like fast food. Because when it comes to fast foo, people are impatient and complaining.

In the wilderness, the children of Israel wanted fast food. They complained and moaned, and God destroyed them for their complaining and wickedness.

Maybe this is for your training, and it takes a lot to still stick it out. It takes a lot of prayer. In times like this prayer is VERY beneficial, because we then can receive strength to continue. Always keeping an attitude of prayer keeps us before things like this even happen.

p.s. I had been yelled at for a straight hour on my job by a strange lady, and before she left, it was peaceful. NOW THIS IS THE PEACE THAT SURPASSES ALL!!! UNDERSTANDING!! LOL.

May Jesus bless you.
