so many moments...

when our son was 19, he had what the neurosurgeons called a 'massive brain bleed'. he was in the hospital two and a half months.
he was paralyzed on the left side... his future was uncertain.

i had 'just happened' to buy the latest Casting Crowns CD (yes, friends, an actual CD! haha!).
i played it in the car as i drove to and from the hospital every day and over and over heard "The Voice of Truth" and "Praise You in This Storm".

- the voice of Truth tells me a different story
the voice of Truth says 'do not be afraid'
the voice of Truth says 'this is for My glory'...

- i lift my eyes unto the hills
where does my help come from?
my help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth...

not every story has what we would consider a happy ending, but this one did
our son regained almost all movement, and guess what?
he (now 28) uses that experience to minister and witness to the grace of God. God, Who kept him, and all of us, during that time.

Heart warming story! Thanks for blessing us with it. So glad to hear your son is fine.
We have been in a Wed night Bible study for a couple of years now, and just last week we decided to add a praise and worship song prior to the study. Our very first song chosen was "Voice of truth"!!

This is Boneli. He lived in an almost inaccessible area a few miles from the town we were Building a child development center/school/Church/orphanage. The Pastor told us about him several years ago. He fell and seriously damaged his legs, and could only drag himself around. He was abandoned by his parents and his grandmother who could barely take care of herself was caring for him. All Our hearts were broken for him, and we all wanted to help him, but the group organizer made it his mission to help this boy. This video is from last year when we got him a walker. His demeanor was better than the year before but you could still see how despondent he was and how slight he was. If I can figure it out, I will post the video of this boy, who will be the 1st child at the orphanage, from last month. Since last year he has had surgery and he simply could not stop laughing and smiling. Not to mention he might have to go on a diet!

The Lord has blessed me and all who were able to go, and those at our home Church who financially supported him and the town in a priceless way, and I am so grateful to Him!

I'm truly glad to hear you have been touched by the work the Lord has done!

Our Church started this project back in 08, from buying the land, to removing a huge tree, to building the foundation. We weren't even members then.

Aside from wanting to serve the Lord in some small way, I wanted to be able to have a real world experience to relate to my boys so they could in some small way grasp just how incredibly blessed we are in America. Of course the Lord used me in other ways than I expected. I will post a vid on some of the "living" quarters

I had never even been out of the country, much less to a third world nation. After seeing some of the deplorable living conditions many people had there I asked our Dominican facilitator if it made sense for me to spend several thousands of dollars to come and basically do grunt work, rather than just give the money. His answer was very enlightening. He said, "Look, this building is gonna get built whether you come or not, or whether you give the money or not. What can't be bought is the thought by these people that YOU were willing to come from half a world away, with your own money, on your vacation, to work for them, to help brothers and sisters in Christ in need"

This trip, a member of our Church, who taught dentists how to open up a practice, told some of his clients about it, and FOUR of them from Oregon, Arkansas, Texas, and Virginia offered to go having never personally met the man from our Church! They said they had been praying about a mission trip and service to the Lord.

We also had 2 Drs. come. The work they all did was phenominal.

This was a hard trip, especially for the ones who have been there from the beginning, as we dedicated the building and have no definite plans to return and see our dear friends and kids in the town.

Our Church is doing the groundwork for starting another Center. This time in Panama. As I get more details I will let you know, and you do whatever the Lord puts on your heart. May He bless you and your family!

my doc and his wife are personal friends, and their oldest son is also a physician who married an RN.

Jonathan has never practiced medicine in the States... he and his wife were in Africa for 3 years, and are now in India.

i've never done anything but give God's money, which is nothing, really

i'll keep this wonderful endeavor in prayer, and eagerly await the day we might do more

Dear sister, whatever you are doing for the Lord, please don't compare to anything I or anybody else does. You may have no idea how the Lord used your money and prayers for His Glory. I'd always ask for prayers though! Bless you!
