Yup. The sad thing is he'll never accept truth, he's blinded by self and tradition.
sadly it does...it only hurts because people refuse to lay down religion, opinion and personal pride....
Honestly i am soo glad God led me to question everything i knew about Christianity. I grew up methodist and for a long time living lukewarm but the Spirit led me to the feeling what if, what i believe is contaminated with human beliefs.
And so i began a year and half task to read the Bible cover to cover. And then once I finished I began to question everything i knew and filter it through the Word of God. A lot of my beliefs had truth and some i realized somewhere between birth and then, i had believed in a lie from being ignorant to the word. As a kid i just took everyone that i trusted words for granted and moved on without realizing they may had been lied to or fell into the same trust ignorance equation as i had during their childhood.
So i literally turned my mind into infancy and questioned everything my parents, teachers, friends, preachers, and random people. And filtered every thought through Gods word.
It was very hard to face ones ignorance, pride and weakness. But it was as if i was now given life and the ability to think through the words of God.
This very exercise led me to many different denominations but ultimately God words led me back to methodist. But my battle wasnt over. I still had so many questions and i felt the closest to my current belief was methodist.
Since i felt it to be the closest i still was led to question what they believe. And so I did. I have been meeting with my preacher one on one for a year and half and asking other elders as well.
But it's funny because the first time I read the Bible without any excess knowledge, just reading it. I actually understand what scripture was saying and really through all my study and research only brings me back to that understanding at first without the excess knowledge.
The excess knowledge only helped me explain what scripture had already proven in my heart.
This is my journey and i am thankful for it. You would be amazed at what lies the devil will plant when your ignorant or distracted by the flesh.

I was a Methodist Certified Lay Speaker for several years and traveled around doing Pulpit fills for Pastors all the time...
This is a must and i think should be done every few years to make sure lies are plucked from belief. Like it or not the devil is always lieing to us or using other to lie to us.
Neither am I....I have been on here 4.5 years and maybe said that twice....to make a point...the point being I don't just shoot from the hip like most....the rest of your view...means zero

The funny thing here is a couple of you I agree with here are talking about being Methodists (in the past or present) as was I years ago in youth. But I've been led out of that into being reformed and vehemently deny arminianism and methodism based upon Scripture. I thank God for the Reformation, what a beautiful event in history.
But my journey from Arminianism and anti-calvinism is a long story. The bottom line in all of this is that now I see God as Sovereign and truly see that salvation is 100% of God and 0% man, and that salvation isn't based upon choice or decision. God chose, and that is enough for me. It is ironic that in Scripture we see the comfort in God choosing us, yet, many take more comfort in falsely believing they chose God. May all of His rest in the assurance of what He has done alone.
But my journey from Arminianism and anti-calvinism is a long story. No one is boasting and faith is not considered the boasting type work. The boasting type work is only using the law as deeds to make salvation.
Whereas I was describing a title for position you were making a point and glorying in your self....

You have not shown how or what anyone would abandon faith.
Not to mention that fact, If God is omniscient like he claims. You have him saving a person he KNEW BEFORE HAND would abandon their so called faith. Which means he made a mistake in giving a person ETERNAL LIFE, the SEAL OF THE SPIRIT, the ADOPTION AS SONS. knowing that within the next few decades (a mere blink of an eye to him, He would have to take it back.
Why? Because when a person claims God is less of a parent than an earth family which is flawed by the flesh. It is quite an insult to him and his character, would you not agree?
Your right, God does not tolerate flesh behavior. That is where grace abounds, Because 1 sin is enough to make us guilty beyond the ability to save ourselves (the death penalty)

1. Your calling it your faith. It is not your faith
2. You depending on self.
If you have to pray you never lose faith, Your admiting you save yourself by your own work of faith.
My faith is in God, not my ability to continue to trust hi, I am flawed. My faith will fail, if my faith never failed, I would be sinless.

I just wanted to "make" you say that term to "prove" your bad behavior and thus you are not really saved....

Looked at it...looks good to me. Prophesied and fulfilled. God's word is always true.
