So this is my first post. I am new to this site. I did have some questions regarding baptism that I hope some of you can give me opinions and comments on. For a while now I have been having thoughts about being baptized or baptism in general. This is not something I choose to think about but I would say something that has been given to me to think about. I guess you can kind of say it pops into my head .. I am hoping to get some guidance here since I have not talked to my pastor about this for the reason that I have not attended church gor about 2 weeks now. Rumors started now several people are saying that I am only going to church because my ex-boyfriend is going and that it only seems that I want to take him out of church. It really made me feel unwanted there so I havent been able to go although I would like to.

OH, we get it! You attend 'church' only if it suits you and how you feel and how others react to you and how you think they should treat you...gotcha..NO problem...the only issue is: The reason you attend 'church" should be to praise and worship JESUS CHRIST, give HIM the total glory. Church gives you a base of operation, a chance to meet with other holy spirit filled CHRISTIAN brothers/sisters. learn and grow together and uplift each other in prayer and support also...A larger group can be more effective in certain ways in reaching others for CHRIST as opposed to a single individual. For example, a fund drive, a soup kitchen cannot be effective with one individual, etc.
Now...if that church is not holy spirit filled, it is just an organization. If that church is not based on Biblical principals, it cannot be effective. Those are the real issues. If you allow others to dictate your attendence, perhaps the joy of your salvation has been taken...but..again...only YOU have the power to give your joy away. It all falls back onto your shoulders. Do you sincerely want to grow spiritually and stay in a church, or will you forever flounder around trying to find the perfect one? New flash...the perfect church is not for you nor I. All humanity is imperfect, just in case you did not know this. Try changing your inner thoughts and ideas about yourself with the Holy Spirit's help and disregard any pressure or comments from other 'churched' folk and get on with your life please. I have left my old home church that I was a member of for 25 years. Guess what...GOD led me to a church where I can best serve and use my talents for His glory. God seems to work in seasons and refreshings are much needed. Pray that you will either get fortitude, or move on to another 4 walled building in which you can best fulfill your calling. Most of your post ends up very petty if allowed to continue. Your choice!
 
First do not listen to others who are treating you in such an unloving way and not making you fell wanted.

Second baptism is not something that is associated to be a member of a church denomination as some have made it out to be.
It is following a command from the Lord out of love for Him that shows a sign that you have a clear conscious to walk in His ways and not your own, and is how you are shown and brought in as one of His disciples.

Do it for love of Him as our Lord and Savior and not because of what others say !!!
 
Baptism is a public confession of your faith and also symbolic of your having been born again. While it is not required for salvation it is a good thing to do as a Christian still.
Fat as your church, I think you're handling things backwards. You should go to your pastor, both about baptism and to talk to him about the gossipers talking about you.
 
You said you have some questions regarding baptism...? What are they, exactly?
