I have been reading a site that says that the North is Iran and Russia(the iron and clay feet) and the South is Saudi Arabia. We are now living in the time of verse 24, according to End Time Signs - ISIS, Iran, Russia + more in Bible prophecy today and the next event to occur is an attack from Saudi Arabia which will fail. Since they fail I have to assume that we, the U. S. A. will not be backing them, so by that, it would seem that the attack will happen next year while the Democrats are still in power, unless they win the election. If that were the case the peace talks could continue through verse 27 and possibly into verse 28, but when the North attacks the south this time there are warships, which may be ours, to dissuade the North. if they are our warships, I would think that it would have to be sent by a Republican president, as the Democrats seem to be unwilling to take a stand over there. So if the Democrats win this election it looks like they lose the 2020 election.
