There are times when you need to put God on the back burner, and think about what YOU want in life. If a non-christian man/woman makes you happy, then go for it!

I'm Atheist, and I wouldn't care what religion the girl I date is. As long as we can respect each others beliefs then it should go smooth.

Dating non-christians,irrespective of what the WORD of GOD said,we should not be unequally yoke with unbelivers. My advice/suggestion to this issue, with regards to what is happening now in the world. We now have non-christians christians, they leave their lives the way they want.In church, they will pretend to be highly saintimonous,IS IT THE TYPE OF PEOPLE WE SHOULD GO FOR??? Because they are church goers,BRETHREN WE MAKE WAR BY WISDOM.Go for non-christians who have good motives, character and behaviour, brethren,if you meet such a person with this qualities, preach the word of God to the person and lead the person to Christ .If the person is a woman, you will see her submissive she will be to the things of God and you.And your marriage will be a thing of JOY.GOD BLESS U ALL

you want to go dating evangelism, go ahead...i'll stick to God's Word and pursue those who are pursuing Him

Missionary dating usually doesn't end well (dating with the intent of converting the other person "someday"). For me as a Christian I know there are a lot of really amazing people out there who are not christians but at the end of the day I want the man I marry to love Christ first and me second, I want someone that will pray with me, someone that will teach our children right from wrong and Christian morals, I want someone who stands by my side in everything including faith. I want a man that will attend church with me, and wake up early to read the bible and study, someone that I can talk to when I am struggling in my walk and will understand and be there to love and support me through it. The bible says for husbands to love their wives like Christ loved the church, I want that kind of love nothing less. You just cannot get these qualities with a non-believer no matter how amazing of a person they are.

Even marrying anyone that is saved is not enough. I knew a guy who had a ministry to young christians. He said for a successful marraige you both need to be the same spiritual temperature. I got interested in someone who is saved but we have widely different views on things. The guy was right.

I completely agree, being saved is the first step you still need to be equally yoked, I believe this applies not only to the overall concept of seeking a believer as your spouse but also to be on the same spiritual level as that person as well. There are a lot of people in this world who call themselves christians and don't live the lifestyle, or are stagnent, I've been there before no one is perfect we are all sinners but all of this goes back to being equally yoked. Above all Christ needs to be the center first and forever.

How could you have and enjoy a life with someone that abhors everything you believe in? Especially once kids start to arrive.

I considered dating an unsaved woman but the more I thought about it the more I realized it was a bad idea.

If you can't agree on something as simple and fundamental as God, how could you agree on anything else. How could you expect to be on the same page as husband and wife. There would be a massive gulf between you.

Food for thought.

I agree it's generally a bad idea, but not just with religion but with a lot of things that form a basis for a person in their life, in a marriage there needs to be parity when it comes to major issues otherwise the differences between you will cause conflict and most likely, a lot of unhappiness in subsequent years.

That said I think it's important to remember that just because a potential partner might not share your religious views, that doesn't automatically mean they abhore them, plenty of good people are not religious yet have full respect, even admiration for those who have a strong faith, in some cases it may be one of the reasons for their attraction in the first place.

So far, I haven't gotten a response to many opinions ANYWHERE on the internet and even real life, that don't involve a person saying that I don't respect peoples beliefs. I find it hilarious, as I see Christians, among other religions daily taking away the rights of others and killing over whose 'God' is right.

As far as I am concerned, religions need to work on respecting others beliefs.

No one has the right no matter what your religion is to try and force your views on others. Murder in the name of God in my opinion is obsene and the pinnacle of arrogance. It is almost as bad as molesting children in my opinion.

It is my belief that we should respect other peoples view of religion. Even if they are wrong. Ramming your ideas down their throat is counter productive. Just look at the crusades.

My mom maried a non- christian. Now he has become one :D and he loves having a relationship with Christ

i have a friend who loved God and loved to serve Him, and she went through a break up with a christian man (mind you he was a bit of a jerk toward her and probably didnt act the way a christian should - nobody's perfect) and now she is dating a non-christian and i see her beliefs and faith slipping away, she is moving in with this guy, she has stopped fellowshipping with other christians, and I rekon if I asked her about her relationship with God, she'd probably try to change the subject on me. All I can do is pray for her, and still be her friend. It kinda sucks that I have to watch it happen and not be able to do anything else. Me personally, I only ever want to be in a relationship with someone who knows and loves God as much as I do(the same "temperature" i suppose). I don't ever want to find my self slipping away from God, and all that he has done for me.

First, we know that the Bible is a true historical account the same way that we know about Julius Caesar, or Alexander the Great. We have written accounts of CREDITABLE eyewitnesses who were there and wrote down what they saw and heard. That Jesus lived, preached, and died on the cross is indisputable. No one with any intelligence denies that. There were hundreds of creditable eyewitnesses who saw him alive, AFTER his death on the cross. Paul said that at one time Jesus appeared to 500 people at once, many who were still living. Why was he not challenged? If you stood up in front of a group of people and said that the Washington Redskins won the super bowl last year, do you think everyone would agree with you? He was not challenged because he was telling the truth. All his listeners had to do was go ask these people if they witnessed what Jesus said they did. The Apostles were flogged numerous times, thrown into prison, lived in poverty, and ultimately all but one died as a martyr. Is it reasonable that men would endure this for a lie? Use some common sense!! Even the Jewish leaders never questioned that Jesus performed his miracles. Do you not think that if it were not true they would have disproved it? They could not disprove it because people had witnessed it! Most of the books of the Bible were in common use by the end of the 1st century. They were not written down hundreds of years later as secular people who know nothing about history will tell you. Church councils did not decide which books would be in the Bible. When they made their decisions, all but a few of the books were already in common use. Their councils were little more than a stamp of approval. The Bible is more reliable than all other historical accounts we have from that period. As for the different versions of the Bible, they all originate from original documents and 99.99% of differences are punctuation or different wording which doesn't change the meaning at all. When translating from the Greek to English, often there is more than one meaning for the Greek word. As is the case in English, the correct interpretation can be obtained from the context. There are few cases where the interpretation is in question. In no cases are there differences in essential doctrine. Man don't bet your eternal future on the DaVinci Code. That was a fictional account designed to entertain and make money.

Jesus lived, died on a cross, and was resurrected on the third day. We know this because there were creditable men who witnessed it!

This is a far more common outcome than the popular "Maybe you can save them theory". I hope your friend realizes her mistake before it is irreversible.

Take heed all lest you too fall

Well, I dated somebody that wasnt a Christian. You can ask a few people around on the forums how hard I fell because of that. I would say not a good idea.

most my christian friends tells the hardness being in relationship w/ non christian is because they want to convert their non christian bf/gf. they want to force their values upon non christians. surely the relationship falls apart.

you find someone with a heart, it doesn't matter what religion they are or where they come from. I like BBB - big booty blacks.
