Endoscopy,
re: "My post is completely about 3 nights and 3 days to put in in the language of the Bible. "

I know, and again it's an issue for a different topic.

I previously explained that the topic title and OP were poorly conceived with regard to the intent of the topic. Unfortunately they couldn't be edited once I realized that they needed to be. However, they were clarified in subsequent posts:

Also, from post #455:

1. The Messiah said that He would be three days and three nights in the "heart of the earth"

2. There are those who think that the crucifixion took place on the 6th day of the week with the resurrection taking place on the 1st day of the week.

3. Of those, there are some who think that the "heart of the earth" is referring to the tomb.

4. A 6th day of the week crucifixion/1st day of the week resurrection allows for only 2 nights to be involved.

5. To account for the lack of a 3rd night, some of those mentioned above say that the Messiah was employing common figure of speech/colloquial language.

6. I wonder if anyone who falls in that group of believers could provide examples to support that belief; i.e., instances where a daytime or a night time was forecast or said to be involved with an event when no part of a daytime and/or no part of a night time could have occurred.

So again, the topic request for examples is with regard to the commonality of forecasting a daytime or a night time when no part of a daytime or no part of a night time could occur.

I don't care what people think. I care what the Bible says. We have to start there to understand the three nights and days as the Bible tells what happened.

3 days sunset to sunset. (that is the Biblical day)

1. It was Passover week which has an annual Sabbath on the first and last day of the week.
2. The last Sabbath of the week is called the Feast of Unleavened Bread.
3. Jesus was in the grave for 3 days starting just before sunset.
4. The tomb was empty on Sunday morning.
5. That forces the Sabbath he was buried before to be an anual Sabbath.
6. I wrote the days of the week for a visual aid.
7. He rose 3 days after burial just before sunset.

With the above Biblical facts apply them to the days of the week listed.

Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Sabbath Sunday

The tomb was empty Sunday morning and he rose just before sunset. So what is the latest he could have risen.
Count backwards 3 days from that point. That should be the latest day he was crucified and buried just before sunset. With the rules about the Sabbath it could have been 1 day earlier. A person was only allowed a Sabbaths day journey which allowed them to go to the temple on the Sabbath.

3 days sunset to sunset. The Jews started the day at sunset and still do today in Israel. Been there several times several times for work. Essential services only Friday sunset to Saturday sunset. That defines the weekly Sabbath. I landed once on Saturday and found out the hard way.

And once again, that's an issue for a different topic. Why don't you start one? This one is concerned with one thing and only one thing.

The name of this topic is three days and three nights. That is what I have been discussing. Do you have a problem understanding that? Show me where I have gone astray from that basic topic!!
Go read post 1. I am discussing that very issue. Which Sabbath preceeded the Crucifixion.

No, I don't have a problem understanding that. What I don't understand is why you don't understand what I told you in post #481.

There are weekly and annual Sabbaths.
Yes as shadows.

There are ceremonial sabbaths as shadows that point to the true substance.... our actual daily, hourly or by the minute if needed rest from our works or as long as today is today

"Two kinds" of Sabbaths. One by which we can judge or evaluate each other by to see if the gospel is needed and the other used in ceremonies as shadows of the true unseen eternal, Non judgeable

One thing I believe I have learned is the word Sabbath is never used as a time sensitive word except for that by which we cannot judge one another or evaluate each other by as a ceremonial law .

According to the substance every time we hear his voice.... "this is the way, or turn away from" and do not harden our hearts we have in effect entered His eternal rest. Then we can be sure it is God working in us, as Emanuel God with us, to both will and do His good pleasure.(imputed righteousness

I am no ones teacher or scholar but how the word sabbath turned into a time sensitive word like week makes me wonder?

Colossians 2:15-17 King James Version (KJV)And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

That's an issue for a different topic.

BTW, are you a 6th day of the week crucifixion advocate?

There was four men who's turn had come up to stand watch for the night, they each stood their post and when the night was over they each went home and told their spouse, it was a long watch of the night. Is each man account correct?

Whenever the three days and three nights of Matthew 12:40 is brought up in a "discussion" with 6th day crucifixion folks, they frequently argue that it is a Jewish idiom for counting any part of a day as a whole day. I wonder if anyone has documentation that shows that the phrase "x" days and "x"nights was ever used in the first century or before when it didn’t include at least parts of the "x" days and at least parts of the "x" nights?
Don't know if this has already been answered but here it is .

The Jewish day begun at sundown each day . But it's important to know that Jewish feast days and festivals were constantly starting , in process or ending all the time during every week .

Without presenting how these feast days played an important part of what God did during this particular week , I'll just make the statement .

Christ was crucified on wed. At sundown .
Wed sundown to Thurs sundown one day and night .

Thurs sundown to Fri sundown two days and two nights .

Fri sundown to Sat sundown three days and three nights .
Now , the thing that only a few realize , is that the way that the Jewish feast days would overlap each other , an opportunity for Christ to be in the tomb for 3 days and 3 nights rising on Saturday at sunset would not be possible for another 25 thousand years . Any other week than that exact one , Christ would have broken a Jewish feast day by either being buried or rising from the dead . It's one of the Father's greatest unknown miracles .

Yes , He spent 3 days and 3 nights in the tomb and then rose again , but He did it without breaking any of the Jewish feast days .

Is it your opinion that after Jesus said these words in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" that three more hours went by before He died and darkness was lifted at the ninth hour aka 3pm when He said the words above.
