1 Thes. 5:23 - And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

As per the scripture above, man is a tripartite being and needs to be saved in his spirit, soul, and body. How is this accomplished?

Can you explain what you mean by 'needs to be saved in his spirit, soul and body' with appropriate scriptures please.

The first scripture is the one I already shared i.e. 1 Thes. 5:23 where it says that our "spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless". The other scriptures are as follows:
Salvation of our spirit - Rom. 10:9
Salvation of our soul: Rom. 5:9, Lev. 17:11
Salvation of our body: Rom. 6:3,6-7

When the Lord Jesus saves us we're completely saved: body, soul and spirit. There are those who teach that we are a spirit, but we have a body and soul. They say only the spirit is saved. But that's false doctrine; it's Gnosticism actually. When we're saved, we're saved completely, nothing more needs to be done.

The 'spirit, soul and body' being preserved blameless, has to do with being sanctified wholly. The NT concept of sanctify is to make morally clean. Thus, the meaning is to be cleansed (morally) through and through and to be blameless (not faultless) when Christ comes again.

The spirit is the part of man that is born again. The spirit is the "inner man" and where God's word and will is revealed to us, It includes conscience. God is Spirit and we are made in His image. Therefore we also are primarily spirit beings. The spirit is maintained and strengthened by spiritual knowledge.

The soul is the organ of expression. Mary's song of praise, "My soul magnifies the Lord......" The spirit relates to the spiritual realm and the soul to the natural realm. When we are born again, we have a new set of desires and attitudes within. I went from despising to church and never reading the Bible to seeing my need for both in not time at all.

Problems arise when the truth of God's word, the expectations of God's will and our own logic and reason clash. The soul is programmed by the world. The world appeals to reason and logic, but from Satan's point of view. For example, Lord Jesus told Nicodemus that he must be born again. That term is familiar these days, but Nicodemus was probably the first person ever to hear it. He could not get his mind around it.

The soul realm includes the natural man, also called ego or the self of the soul. The natural man does not comprehend the things of God (1 Corinthians 2:14). So Christians need to discern between the natural man and the spirit.

A good example of spirit and soul is Peter with Jesus. Peter had just received the revelation in his spirit that Jesus was the Christ, the Son of the living God. God revealed this to Peter and Jesus called Peter blessed. Not long after, Lord Jesus told the disciples that He must die. Peter took Lord Jesus aside and told Him off. (Matthew 16:13-23)

Lord Jesus rebuked Peter, telling him that his thoughts were not of God, but of man. And believers often vacillate between the spirit and the soul. It takes time and experiences to discern the difference. We need to make God's word our absolute authority, especially if our mind argues.

The body will be saved instantly when we get the new body promised to us. However, we need to bring the body under our control also. Some are addicted to food and are so obese. Some are obsessed with sleep. There was a time when if I did not get 8 hours sleep, I would be grumpy all day. Not so much now.

The body has natural desires that God included when He created us. They include hunger, thirst and the sex drive. They are not inherently evil. They do need to be brought under our control. We need the power of the Spirit to do that. Self control is part of the fruit of the Spirit.

A proper answer to your question would take way too long and too many words for this forum. If you are serious, I suggest that you get a copy of "The Spiritual Man", by Watchman Nee. It will take you months to read and years to become real in your experience. It will be worth it.

Watchman Nee imbibed gnostic ideas during his ministry from Jessie Penn Lewis, which is plainly seen in 'The Spiritual Man'.

Yes, I am an admirer of Watchman Nee. I got this concept from his book itself, and I expounded on it and have written a book called "Decide Your Destiny: You can be what you want to be"

For those interested, Google Gordon Ferguson. 'What about Watchman Nee's teaching on soul and spirit'.
If you can tell me which concept mentioned in Spiritual Man is wrong, maybe I can look into it. Please provide chapter reference as well.

The key to W. Nee is in the title of the book. It is spiritual. Quite a few people analyse it from a purely intellectual point of view. That's a shame, because they miss out on some most helpful teaching.

If you can't be bothered, you will remain in the dark.
I read a little bit of his article for now. It appears that Gordon Ferguson, the author of this article is unable to understand the difference between a spirit and soul. Now, that is his problem. He should be getting a basic 101 course in Christianity and move ahead.

The following is a quote from the Preface section of Spiritual Man:
I am not the first to advocate the teaching of the dividing of spirit and soul. Andrew Murray once said that what the church and individuals have to dread is the inordinate activity of the soul with its power of mind and will. F. B. Meyer declared that had he not known about the dividing of spirit and soul, he could not have imagined what his spiritual life would have been. Many others, such as Otto Stockmayer, Jessie Penn-Lewis, Evan Roberts, Madame Guyon, have given the same testimony. I have used their writings freely since we all have received the same commission from the Lord; therefore I have decided to forego notating their many references.∗

Here is another quote from the Preface section of Spiritual Man:
As I recall how the enemy has tried to hinder me from learning the truths written in the last volume, I cannot but be apprehensive that some, though possessing the book, will be hindered by Satan from reading it; or if they do read it, will be made to soon forget it. Therefore let me warn my readers: you should ask God to keep Satan from preventing your reading it. Pray as you read; turn what you read into prayer. Pray that God will cover you with the helmet of salvation lest you forget what you read or simply fill your mind with innumerable theories.
