I'm going to try and ride a bike every day!
Kudos to you. Erm, though I must ask: what kind of bike?

A motor bike? A stationary bike? A bike where you pit yourself against motorized vehicles
which have an astonishing inclination for hogging the road and running you off of it?

Shall we pray for your safety?

I've made one New Year's resolution that I've been able to keep. That was, never to make another New Year resolution. That was years ago and I've kept it ever since.
I make a similar resolution every year. I resolved to not make any resolutions.

This breaks itself. Now, with my resolution made and broken, I am free to enjoy New Year's Eve.

I resolve to quit alcohol and coffee for an entire year, including all holidays. I also resolve to get in the best shape since my navy days before beach weather hits 🎯

To keep myself accountable I should start a thread and update y'all on my progress

Me too, and my sister has promised to help keep me accountable.

Can I make two resolutions?

I resolve to get a new sister (when I come out of the coma).

"On the stroke of midnight tonight,
you can resolve to be better, if you like…
to be fitter,
to eat cleaner,
to work harder.
On the stroke of midnight tonight,
you can resolve to become a whole new you,
if you so choose.
Or, you can take a moment to acknowledge
what you already are.
Because it’s a lot.
You are a lot.
And you deserve to be truly seen.
On the stroke of midnight tonight,
perhaps you could congratulate yourself for coping.
For breaking, again,
for rebuilding, again.
For catching the stones life has thrown at you,
and using them to build your castle
that little bit more beautifully.
And if you have used those stones to block yourself in for the ‘heal’, perhaps you can realign them this year. Make a grander gate, not a higher wall.
You have endured, my friend.
Through times you thought unendurable.
You did.
And I don’t see the need to resolve
to become a whole new you,
when you are already so very much indeed.
Happy new year.
You made it.
Now let us face another 365 day-turn together,
arms wide…
accepting, embracing and ‘seeing’ one other,
for all we truly are…
breaks and all."

Okay. This thread is over. We already have the best possible post. Nothing more needs to be said here.

My one and only resolution every year, is that I no longer make any resolutions. In my opinion, that's just setting myself up for an easy opportunity to break them.

I'm still good on the alcohol and diet thing, I've failed at the coffee thing but I've cut back atleast, and the getting in shape is put on hold due to a very serious ankle injury suffered on New Year's Day playing basketball... 😔 No broken bones thank God just waiting for it to heal and hopefully no torn ligaments... I won't take walking for granted ever again....

phunnneee!. a bunch of times i quit drinking. although i have fun with a few drinks here & there, i always felt like, "so what, a few drinks". i could take it or leave it. i never felt like i had to drink. & coffee, that may be #2 on the worldwide list to quit! great idea about being in shape. i'm going to give you a few facts about that. people who exercise are happier, more alert, pay attention better, sometimes more intelligent, & by course, have more energy. also, people who work fast are happier people.
