I would have to search and find it, which would take some time. Since you're the one convicted, why don't you search for it? get a Strong's and look it up! Personally I lost my Strong's and I don't read the Pentateuch very often, I spend more time in Psalms, Proverbs, and the New Testament.

A spiritual harvest of souls, just like I said...revival!
You are adding to God's Word. Malachi 3 says nothing of a harvest of souls.

"open the windows of heaven" refers to God causing the rain to fall to water the fields.
"rebuking the devourer" is speaking of holding back the locusts from eating the crops.
"a delightsome land" is speaking of the blessings upon the land of Israel.

Just because it doesn't actually use the word "money" doesn't mean it isn't referring to a financial principle. That is a faulty argument you are using to deny the scriptural demands upon your life.

An "open heaven" refers to more than just rain on the crops. It refers to the rain of the Holy Spirit. Though the word "rain" isn't used.

I have already looked it up. It isn't there.

The only thing God commands to be tithed in the Pentateuch is that which comes from crops and livestock.

The crops tithe could be bought back for money if one chose to buy it back. (Leviticus 27:30-31) The livestock tithe could not be bought back. (Leviticus 27:32-33)

Twenty years later, God commanded that the tithes were to go to the Levites. (Numbers 18:24,26,28 )

Twenty years after that, God said that tithes were to be taken yearly to Jerusalem to a Feast. If the tithe was too heavy for the tither, or if the way was too long, the tither could sell the tithe for money. But, when he arrived at Jerusalem, he was to go and buy back food and drink for the tithe. And he and his family and the Levites were to EAT the tithe. (Deuteronomy 14:22-27) God also said tithes were to be given to the widows, the orphans, the Levites, and strangers within the gates. (Deuteronomy 14:28-29)

When the storehouse built, the command was that the Levites were the ones who were to tithe to the Temple... not the nation of Israel. (Nehemiah 10:37-38 )

There is no command for a monetary tithe in Scripture. It is the invention of man. And sadly, many go running after that invention.

Believe me, I have studied every reference to tithing in the Bible. And what you say is there... is not.

What Scriptural command? You have yet to produce that "Scriptural command." God said in Leviticus that the tithes were for the children of Israel. In Hebrews 7, the command to tithe was still for the children of Israel... ACCORDING TO THE LAW.

There is no "Scriptural command" for me or anyone else to tithe money to the Church.

satan is the accuser of the brethren. Stop acting like him.
Because I point out that to say one adds to God's Word when one says Malachi 3 is speaking of a "harvest of souls" I am acting like satan? Really?

Wow! So, to teach the truth is to imitate satan these days. Seems to me that Isaiah had something to say about that.

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Pastors have been robbing people through the tithe lie for many years now.

The majority of pastors in mainstream churches across America rob people when they teach them that God requires them to tithe their money.

The command to tithe was given to Israel, and to no other nation. Psalm 147:19-20; Acts 15:23-29; Acts 21:23-25 all prove that the Mosaic Law was never given to the Church. The command to tithe was only to Israel.

Even the last chapter of the Bible where tithes are commanded, they are still for Israel... the sons of Levi have a command to take tithes of the people, that is OF THEIR BRETHREN, "according to the Law".

What did the Law say concerning the tithes?

1. They were to be agricultural in their content (Leviticus 27:30-33)
2. They were for the children of Israel. (Leviticus 27:34)
3. They were not to be observed until God's chosen people Israel crossed over the Jordan and entered Canaan, the land promised to Jacob. (Deuteronomy 12:1-11)
4. They were to be given to
a) the Levites (sons of Levi) (Numbers 18:21-28; Nehemiah 10:37-38 )
b) the widows
c) the orphans
d strangers living in Israel (Deuteronomy 14:28-29)

People need to study their Bibles! If they do, they will find that tithes were never commissioned for the New Testament Church, tithes were never carried to the New Testament Church, tithes were never collected in the New Testament Church, and tithes were never controlled by the New Testament Church.

Israel's Law was never given to the New Testament Church.

God said to the priesthood that we have no inheritance in the land. If you are a Christian then you are allowed to receive tithes from the world...not other Christians. Most pastors sadly don't even know that, and many say you are robbing God in not giving tithe...which is true if you have inheritance in the land.

Vernon.....Did you read 1 Cor. 16: 1,2 or maybe you don't Worship/believe/use/care for/ the bible. I don't know what you are thinking. But, please read this. 1 Cor. 16:Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.[SUP]2[/SUP]Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

They had a collection for the church. You can't seprated yourself from The church and please God. So we must give to the Lords churh so we can preach the gospel to the world. I hope I have not offended you in any way its not my inttention.
Pete I hope you mean that when we give in the context of an assembly of believers, the money is to be used for two reasons. The poor and the itenerent preachers/missionaries.

Yes Paul called for an offering to help those struggling in Judea, and I am pretty sure that Paul expects the congregations to support those placed in leadership in the congregations because they spend their time working for the care of the sheep. I do not believe Paul established a "tithe", but expected all to give for the needs of the church, as they felt like giving. I could be wrong but I do not believe christians have been commanded to give a specific percentage of their wealth, which is how I understand a tithe to be. If I am wrong then please correct me.

Blessings in Christ.

We'll need a verse where Paul said to give salaries to anyone in a local assembly.

No, But God does love a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7]
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

Any signs of Commanding it in those verses?

Luke 6:38 is speaking about mercy, not money.

Did he?
Luke 10:7 (KJV) [SUP]7 [/SUP]And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
1 Corinthians 9:3-14 (KJV) [SUP]3 [/SUP]Mine answer to them that do examine me is this, [SUP]4 [/SUP]Have we not power to eat and to drink? [SUP]5 [/SUP]Have we not power to lead about a sister, a wife, as well as other apostles, and as the brethren of the Lord, and Cephas? [SUP]6 [/SUP]Or I only and Barnabas, have not we power to forbear working? [SUP]7 [/SUP]Who goeth a warfare any time at his own charges? who planteth a vineyard, and eateth not of the fruit thereof? or who feedeth a flock, and eateth not of the milk of the flock? [SUP]8 [/SUP]Say I these things as a man? or saith not the law the same also? [SUP]9 [/SUP]For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen? [SUP]10 [/SUP]Or saith he it altogether for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, this is written: that he that ploweth should plow in hope; and that he that thresheth in hope should be partaker of his hope. [SUP]11 [/SUP]If we have sown unto you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we shall reap your carnal things? [SUP]12 [/SUP]If others be partakers of this power over you, are not we rather? Nevertheless we have not used this power; but suffer all things, lest we should hinder the gospel of Christ. [SUP]13 [/SUP]Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar? [SUP]14 [/SUP]Even so hath the Lord ordained that they which preach the gospel should live of the gospel.

Again, this speaks of itenerent preachers, missionaries, not the local assembly where all members ministers in turn. If all are taking turn ministering, do all get a pay check?

Tithing was commanded in the bible, but we are not held to the 10% rule of the old testament.
Some will tell you is was only meant for certain people and not others, but even Jesus gave us an example of the old woman who came to worship who gave more then 10%.
Lord Jesus got onto the pharisees because they gave their tithes of 10% out of obligation and not love, but accepted the woman's because hers was done out of love. The NT says to give what you can from the heart.

Keep this story in context. Jesus just got done rebuking the religious leaders for devouring widows houses. Along comes this widow and gives all she owns to these wolves.
I do not believe Jesus was commending this woman for giving the wolves all her income when Old Testament law commanded that the widows and poor were to be supported and taken care of. Modern preachers love this verse so they can feel no guilt for taking from poor widows the devilish tithe. In other words 'devouring widows houses'.

Jesus said 'she just gave everything she had to you thieves'. 'You gave nothing to speak of and then you devoured her house'.

This scripture speaks to those that are committed to the task of shepherding the church, regardless of what their position is. I don't see anywhere where it's only for a selected few.

Neither do I see where a preacher should get rich off of the gospel. If churches weren't making their pastor/minister rich, there would be fewer hirelings, yes?

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

(2 Corinthians 9:6-7)

we're not commanded to give a tithe as though it were a law for us.
at the same time, it's not a sin to feed the ox that tramples our grain.

No Jesus was not commending the woman for giving all of her money to thieves. He was commended her because she still gave all that she had even though living in poverty. She loved our Lord and so still gave out of that love.
What the preachers then do with that money, rather they would not take it from somebody in her situation, give her more back in return to help her out, or the misuse it and pocket it for themselves falls on them not on the giver.
If we give out of love we still do our part, if they misuse the funds that will be accounted to them at judgment.

Another misuse of bible scripture used by money preachers are, He who preaches the gospel should live by the gospel.
This scripture is not talking about money as in a salary. It is saying if you preach the word, you should live as it says to live in love, forgiveness, and mercy.

Sorry Stephen, but 1 Corinthians 9 is not about leadership in the local assembly. Read it again. Paul was speaking about Apostles, those who were separater from the local assembly to go out into the world preaching the Gospel.

Paul had already told the Churches at Ephesus and Thessalonika that they were to follow his example and work with their hands earning their living and enough to support the weak as well. He would not have been telling the stationary ministers the opposite of what he told previous Churches.
