Different rooms have different mic time restrictions. Some I believe allow you to be on mic for 3+ minutes, if I recall correctly.
Mic timer restrictions:
Lounge 1 min
Bible Study 2 min
The rest of the rooms since they typically are not as busy have the limit higher (3 or 4 min I believe)
Veteran users remember when CC had no mic timer. Unfortunately it became necessary because of some users who would monopolize the mic for 10 min or more.
