To whom are we trying to talk into?
“Put away from you a wicked mouth, and devious lips put far from you.” (Proverbs 4.24).
In the end, will we go to influence men so that please the Creator, or will we to seek to persuade the Creator in order to make Him come around to people’s greedness? Recall:

- “For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.” (Galatians 1.10).

- Do our prayers aim at taking in the will of Jesus amidst what we are living or at trying to bring Him around?
- Are our praises fruit of lips that professes and confesses His name (Hebrews 13.15) or are they panegyrics whose objective is cajole Him in exchange of boons?
- Are our worships the presenting of our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, pleasing to God (Romans 11.1) or are they mere services to entertainment that make us feel justified?
In the end, will we go to influence men so that please the Creator, or will we to seek to persuade the Creator in order to make Him come around to people’s greedness? Recall:
- “Do not err, my beloved brothers. *Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above* and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness nor shadow of turning.” (James 1.16,17).
