Oswald chambers had some words about this which have been in in his daily devotional " My Utmost for this highest." It's about going from our self awareness to christ awareness. Really give this a read over. Forsome reason i think it applies to how you;re feeling. To compelled to have joy in your relationship with Christ! Not on your own self awareness of yourself.

Self-Awareness

Come to Me . . . —Matthew 11:28God intends for us to live a well-rounded life in Christ Jesus, but there are times when that life is attacked from the outside. Then we tend to fall back into self-examination, a habit that we thought was gone. Self-awareness is the first thing that will upset the completeness of our life in God, and self-awareness continually produces a sense of struggling and turmoil in our lives. Self-awareness is not sin, and it can be produced by nervous emotions or by suddenly being dropped into a totally new set of circumstances. Yet it is never God’s will that we should be anything less than absolutely complete in Him. Anything that disturbs our rest in Him must be rectified at once, and it is not rectified by being ignored but only by coming to Jesus Christ. If we will come to Him, asking Him to produce Christ-awareness in us, He will always do it, until we fully learn to abide in Him.

Never allow anything that divides or destroys the oneness of your life with Christ to remain in your life without facing it. Beware of allowing the influence of your friends or your circumstances to divide your life. This only serves to sap your strength and slow your spiritual growth. Beware of anything that can split your oneness with Him, causing you to see yourself as separate from Him. Nothing is as important as staying right spiritually. And the only solution is a very simple one— "Come to Me . . . ." The intellectual, moral, and spiritual depth of our reality as a person is tested and measured by these words. Yet in every detail of our lives where we are found not to be real, we would rather dispute the findings than come to Jesus.

. . . and I will give you rest —Matthew 11:28Whenever anything begins to disintegrate your life with Jesus Christ, turn to Him at once, asking Him to re-establish your rest. Never allow anything to remain in your life that is causing the unrest. Think of every detail of your life that is causing the disintegration as something to fight against, not as something you should allow to remain. Ask the Lord to put awareness of Himself in you, and your self-awareness will disappear. Then He will be your all in all. Beware of allowing your self-awareness to continue, because slowly but surely it will awaken self-pity, and self-pity is satanic. Don’t allow yourself to say, "Well, they have just misunderstood me, and this is something over which they should be apologizing to me; I’m sure I must have this cleared up with them already." Learn to leave others alone regarding this. Simply ask the Lord to give you Christ-awareness, and He will steady you until your completeness in Him is absolute.

A complete life is the life of a child. When I am fully conscious of my awareness of Christ, there is something wrong. It is the sick person who really knows what health is. A child of God is not aware of the will of God because he is the will of God. When we have deviated even slightly from the will of God, we begin to ask, "Lord, what is your will?" A child of God never prays to be made aware of the fact that God answers prayer, because he is so restfully certain that God always answers prayer.

If we try to overcome our self-awareness through any of our own commonsense methods, we will only serve to strengthen our self-awareness tremendously. Jesus says, "Come to Me . . . and I will give you rest," that is, Christ-awareness will take the place of self-awareness. Wherever Jesus comes He establishes rest— the rest of the completion of activity in our lives that is never aware of itself.

We all go through trials & tribulations in life, it's part of a growing process. When we go through these trials we sometimes lose sight of what's really important & get side tracked, only seeing the negativity. God will never forsake you or give you a burden too big to carry alone, he's with us at all times, it's faith that brings us through. Although you may think your prayers aren't heard, just remember God works in mysterious ways & does things in his own time...keep praying & don't lose faith, know that he is your God & shares your troubles & pain. God bless.

I do agree with what was said, except for one thing. Maybe it's not self pity at all. Maybe it's called the tolls of life eh? You and myself included, as well as all others, go through times when we feel exactly the same way as the original poster does. we can't deny it or we'd be lying. Eventually we hit rock bottom too, our faith is tested, and everything. Also keep in mind, we have no idea what all might be or is going on in others lives. Maybe something tragic happened, or maybe they're about to let go of faith and things....if so the last thing they need to hear is ''stop self pity''.We need to be kind to one another, uplifting one another in brotherly/sisterly love, prayer, encouragement, and so on. While everything else you said is uplifting and encouraging, we need to watch our use/choice of words carefully. We don't want to push anyone over the edge or anything. God bless you.

Hi I'm sorry to hear life's taking such a toll on you, and I'll keep you in prayer hon. remember that Jesus is our strength and our everything. Don't give up, keep pushing forward, and rather than say you're sad and in pain, say I claim healing and deliverance in Jesus name! Only say you're sad and in pain when you're praying...when we say that something's wrong that opens a door for satan, but you see, when we tell our Father in the name of Jesus, then satan can't bother us...cause Jesus stands there listening to the prayer, and makes intercession for us, and won't allow satan to interupt! It WILL get better eventually, we all understand how it feels, I've been in your shoes, I mean seriously the same exact situation...back pain and sadness, and often times the sadness is brought on from the pain. Just focus on something positive and you'll be fine!Praying for you, God bless hon!

thank you for the coment every little bit helps. hope to hear more.

I always say God doesnt give you more than you can handle with Gods help. Most people forget you need Gods help. Ask him to take your problems and heal them. God has a plan and things will happen when He wants them too. Il be praying for you

I agree with Amy, we often forget to rely on God's strength which he give freely to those who ask. I know I have often let myself get overwhelmed by my situation and allow it to distract me from what I should be doing which is focusing on God. I do not agree that emotions are in someway evil, and I believe that God has a plan for every low time in our lives. I know mine have taught me alot and have allowed me to help others with their struggles.

AT ONE TIME PAUL WAS IN PAIN AND HE WENT AHEAD TO TELL THE LORD," REMOVE THE PAIN FOR ME OH GOD".HE ACTUALLY PRAYED 3 TIMES AND THE RESPOND WAS WHAT HE NEEDED WAS GRACE TO TAKE HIM THROUGH.THEREFORE MY DEAR FRIEND WHAT YOU NEED IS SUFFICIENT GRACE TO TAKE YOU THROUGH.REMEMBER YOU ARE MORE THAN CONQURER,YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE IT. THINGS THAT ARE PERCEIVED + WHAT WE FEEL IS JUST FOR A MOMENT I9T WILL COME TO AN END. BE STRONG ALWAYS.

I agree, however, some emotions while not evil, are ungodly. They're unrighteous, such as hate, anger, etc. We have to be careful with emotions no matter if they're good or not so good. Pray always, seek God, rely on Him totally, and only Him.

hi i am happy to see so many people willing to take time and thought and put them into action like this. thank you everyone. i will look forward to all of your encouragement and words of wizdom evryday. GOD BLESS!!

The bible says we will suffer. We have to remember we are not alone. Thr the suffering you come out stronger. Don't give up. Think about lil kids with cancer or with no arms or legs. There are many people who ar going thr much harder times. Thr your suffering and getting thr it with God one day you will help someone else who is suffering. And the day will come when it gets better. Believe that Ok.

i think the hardest thing to overcome would be understanding.

Proverbs 4:5 Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the works of my mouth.

Keep praying, as I shall continue praying for you. Maybe it's not totally just understanding things, but also accepting them, and God's will...that's a big one for sure....God bless.
