1. Family issues. I realize that some people are simply dealt some bad cards when it comes to family members, but that doesn't mean I have to marry them. I dated a girl who never had a real father. Trust me, it was something I ended up regreting many times.

This should have been a red flag in my last relationship. Very broken home. Her two youngest sisters were quite rotten, her teen sister was a teen mother, her baby brother clung to her like she was his mom. Her biological father apparently had just gotten out of jail after being incarcerated for most of her life. In retrospect, that's not something wise for me to get into.

We have to be careful when we say we refuse to date someone with bad backgrounds. Remember, just because someone comes from a bad background, doesn't mean that's who they become or that he/she will not be able to heal from wounds.

The people who we have to be careful of (which I think is what Ritter was referring too here,) are those who refuse to leave their problems behind them, and instead create mountains out of them. There maybe situations where the girl or guys family will always be apart of their life, such as a sibling with down syndrome. Then, if you were to refuse to become apart of their life, because of this, what type of person does this make you.

Just remember, we all have pasts, even if we don't want to admit. And it's our past that shapes us into the people we become, either for the good or the bad.

If a guy did this in my livingroom, he'd be free to leave after he cleaned that up. My dog is cleaner than that. Personal hygiene is HUGE.

I have owned cars that were stick and I've driven a lot of trucks/farm equipment, so I DO know how. A lot of guys don't know how though. He'd have to show me before I'd let him take off in it.

What if she breaks in to your house at 4am because she wants to snuggle? Knocking is okay. Breaking in is not okay. Calling on the way, even better.

What if desecrates a bathroom worse than any man ever could? Wondering what he means by this, but not about to ask. I believe in separate bathrooms if at all possible and, again, personal hygiene is HUGE.

What if she pulls a knife out and tries to stab you, just to see what you will do? If a guy did that, he would never see me again. I've seen too many people who play games like this actually go too far and become violent at some point and I would feel terrible if I kept quiet and they hurt someone else later on.

Am I misreading this? If a girl so much as has lust for another man, you'd dump her? I would imagine that puts girls in a very difficult situation. Let's face it, this is a world where it's hard to not lust after someone, regardless of gender.

1. Cheating or lying. Dishonesty in any form shows someone's character. Been through both of these, and won't ever again!

2. Life goals/aspirations. If these don't match up, what's the point of anything else? This is what ended my latest relationship. If two people are going different directions then it's pointless.

4. Overly dramatic/critical - It's just not fun hearing complaining all the time.

5. I just don't feel it. Sounds kinda bad, but the purpose of a relationship is to find the one you're going to marry and be with for a lifetime. This one has usually gone hand in hand with #3 for me..

I had to reply on this. I had this happen when I was about 20 years old. It was not to see what I would do, she was actually trying to stab me.

I'm more talking about spontanious decisions in a relationship, not necessarily character flaws. Like if a girl lies to me, that can be fixed and worked through, not the end of the world.

But if she backs over my dog in the driveway and laughs, we are done. Its not a character thing, its a matter of in that moment, the wrong decision was made to do something that means this courtship will no longer lead to marriage, therefore dating her any longer is no longer an option.

Like I "broke" a GF's ankle once in a Jet skiing accident. We were instantly done. A: because she can't handle any form of complication. B: She blamed and hated me for it. Understandable by both parties.

Like if I'm dating someone and on a weekend whim get a tattoo of Catholic Jesus that cover's their back, we are done.

If they sudden'y buy a Purse Dog at the mall, we are done. A pet is HUGE decision and responsibility.

Or if I'm house sitting for a friend and I am hanging out in their pool with my friends and she decides to sunbathe with her top off, Done.

These are mistakes. Terminal mistakes.

Why is it that we feel we must list worldly things.. lying, cheating etc? Isn't there a reasonable level of expectation from someone who is a true Christian? Lots of the things being said...should go without being said.
