Why was the Tower of Babel so bad that God scattered all of humanity to prevent its completion

Surely with the internet and science today humankind is doing similar things to the literal reading of the passages.

Sharing of information. Language is no longer a barrier . buidlings reaching into the heavens much higher than ever before.

So what is the real reason God did this back then and never again ?

The people disobeyed God. God told Noah and his family to be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth. The people decided to stay in one place instead.

They did this to "make a name for themselves." So basically am idol. God said nothing will be impossible bc God puts an element of his creativity in each person. If everyone is together nothing is impossible both good and bad. Mostly bad bc obviously they aren't even listening to God at this point.

God wanted them spread out bc his children and even the savior of the world would be brought out of other locations. Babylon for example they claim is Iraq.

We are in the last days so it's pretty similar today. Although you can make the argument that technically people in communists countries can't interact with other countries much due to censorship. It's still possible though. We are pretty unstoppable in many ways today... both good and bad.

Have you head that expression : you don’t know what you have until you lose it?
Well in this case how do you even know that people in the past were dumber than you?

Because even today, with all of our illusion of superior technological advancements we still can’t build a pyramid in Giza!
And I’m not the one who’s saying this but the construction and other experts who ask this same question!
They’ve run calculations and models and they say that even today this is an almost impossible task.

We’re put in an impossible situation with no awareness of the past and no sense of the future.
All we need is a little faith to “touch” God and receive Him in our hearts so we can understand that true Wisdom and Knowledge belongs to Him not us.

To answer your question, Maybe the Tower of Babel did something a lot worse technologically than our perceived technology today.
Because besides the pyramids, archeologists have found even older civilizations which rewrites what we know about history and the progress of human species and the technological advancements of the past which we can’t replicate today apparently with all our cool gadgets.

So the people in the past are not so dumb as we’d like to make them. But we like to make them dumb because we have no idea of the past and of course most people don’t know what they have until they lose it so they can appreciate it .

Again we’re in an impossible situation so we can act on faith and walk with a little faith.
Just a little that’s all is required of us.

Gen 11:5 And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.
Gen 11:6 And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.
Gen 11:7 Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.

God didn't even destroy the tower, or the city. Seems he si more concerned about man working together on anything they imagine, according to verse 6.

Also the word for tower can mean pulpit, which adds a new dimension to the story.

Because Pentecost reversed Babel to confirm the Gospel.
When God does it again it will be Judgment Day.
