I'm happy in the trials that the Lord has brought to me,
His hand has gently held me in the things I've had to see.
Though others see my trials as a beating from bellow,
And I can see the reasons why they've come to think this so,
I've learned to take the heartache that the devil throws my way,
And lift my hands up to the Lord and trust, and hope, and pray.
It didn't used to be this way; in truth it took some time.
I threw my anger at the Lord and nearly lost my mind.
But when my body reached the end of all that I could bear,
My Jesus raised me from the pit and showed me love and care.
He didn't chasten me for all the blame I'd thrown his way,
But gently taught me how to find new hope in every day.
As time went by, I saw it clear, the devil could not be,
The reason why these earthly trials had come so hard on me.
God was the one who sent these trials, and though I suffered so,
He sent them to a girl like me so others then could know,
That God Almighty, in his love, sends trials in our life,
So we can give our all to him and free ourselves from strife.
If we surrender all to him and persever in prayer,
We have an everlasting friend; he'll carry us from there.
