no Jesus God's son has shattered the hold of sin by dying on the cross and the only place in the bible that says that they are one is in I John 5:7,8 but even this was added in the Latin Vulgate 400 YEARS after Jesus died

you didnt come up with this stuff by yourself

who do you follow?? Herbert W...????????????????????????????????

Trinity is not biblical. Nowhere in Scripture is God referred to or called "trinity."

The word"three" is never used in reference to God or Jesus.
God is never called or even referred to as "a person."
The holy spirit is never called "God."

Since Christ is the Son, He cannot also be the Father or be coequal with His Father. Christ outright said:"MyFather is GREATER than I" (John 14:28).

John 10:30 "I and the Father, We are ONE". Jesus did not say "I and the Father, We are one GOD," Look at it as they work together to accomplish the same goal.

Scripture, says that there is only ONE GOD.
Scripture says what the relationship of Jesus Christ is with that ONE God
Scripture says who the one God is

And all of these things are proven in just one single Scripture.

"For even if so be that there are those being termed gods, whether in heaven or on earth, even asthere are many gods and many lords, nevertheless for US there is ONE God, the FATHER, out of Whom ALL IS,and we for Him, and ONE LORD, JESUS CHRIST,through Whom all is, and we through Him"
(I Cor. 8:5-6).

And the next verse says

"But NOT IN ALL is there this knowledge"This would be speaking about those that believe in the unbiblical trinity.

Jesus Christ is the "one LORD." Which we were told in the verse above.
This Scripture tells us that"ALL IS OUT OF" GOD (the FATHER).
And this Scripture tells us that"ALL IS THROUGH" Jesus Christ.

God the Father is the first cause of all and ALL IS OUT GOD, even Jesus Christ is "OUT of God."

"...I [Jesus] came OUT from God. I CAME OUT FROM the FATHER..." (John 16:27-28).

Now if Jesus came out from the trinity, why doesn’t the Scripture say so? He didn’t come out of the trinity and He didn’t come out of the holy spirit, but HE DID COME, "...out from the father"
And after Jesus Christ came OUT from the Father, ALL ELSE came THROUGH Jesus Christ:

"Who [Jesus Christ] is the Image of the invisible God,Firstborn of every creature, for in Him is ALL CREATED, that in the heavens and that on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or lordships, or sovereignties, or authorities, all is created THROUGH Him and FOR Him, and He is BEFORE all, and all has its cohesion in Him" (Col. 1: 14-17).

Nowhere does it say God came out from Christ. Christ came OUT FROM THE FATHER and all else was createdTHROUGH Jesus Christ. There is no trinity.

Jesus Christ is not the SUPREMEDEITY. Christ is not the originator of all. Christ is "the Lord." He is the Son of God. He is the IMAGE of the invisible God. He isthe Mediator,

For there is ONE God, and ONE Mediator OF God and mankind, a MAN Christ Jesus..." (I Tim. 2:5).

Jesus said,
"...I am going to the Father, for the Father is GREATER than I" (John 14:28).

Christ is GREATER than the Father? There is no trinity in that verse.

"Now, whenever ALL may be subjected to Him, then the Son Himself [Jesus Christ] also SHALL BE SUBJECTED TO HIM [God the Father] Who subjects all to Him, that GOD may be All in all."

It is not biblical that someday God the Father will be SUBJECT to Christ. There is no trinity.

"Now I want you to be aware that the Head of every man is Christ, yet the head of the woman is the man, yet the Head of Christ IS GOD" (ICor. 11:3).

There is no head of God, but Christ has a head. So obviously Jesus is not God the father. No trinity.

There is another verse that proves that Jesus Christ is not part of a trinity, but is now and always will be, under the Headship of His Father. Here it is:
"...that the GOD OF OUR LORD Jesus Christ, the FATHER..."(Eph. 1:17).

Did you catch that? Jesus Christ has a God. Not is The one and only God.

Eph. 1:3: "Blessed be the God and Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ"
Col. 1:3: "We are thanking the God and Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ"
I Pet. 1:3: "Blessed be the God and Father OF our Lord Jesus Christ"

Jesus is the Son "of" God and not God Himself, that the holy spirit is the spirit "of" God and not God Himself? We have the Son "of" God and the spirit"of" God and yet God is "OF" NO ONE.

"There is ONE GOD, the FATHER,out of Whom ALL is..." (ICor. 8:6).
"For there is ONE God" (I Tim. 2:5).
"The ONE Who is operating ALL in accord with the counsel of HIS will..." (Eph. 1:11).
"Out of Him and through Him and for Him is ALL: to HIM be the glory for the eons! Amen!" (Rom. 11:36).
"...your heavenly Father IS PERFECT"(Mat. 5:48)
"God IS LOVE"(I John 4:8).
"God IS SPIRIT" (John 4:24).
"...the INVISIBLE GOD" (II Cor. 4:4).

"Now it is eonian life that they may know Thee, the ONLY TRUE GOD, and Him Whom Thou dost commission, Jesus Christ" (John17:3).

Jesus called His Father "...theONLY TRUE GOD" (Jn. 17:3).
"God is NOT A MAN..."(I Sam. 15:29).
Jesus Christ IS A MAN!"For there is ONE GOD, and ONE MEDIATOR of God and mankind, A MAN,Christ Jesus..." (I Tim. 2:5).
"Thou art the Christ, THESON OF THE LIVING GOD" (Mat.16:16).
"The Lord Jesus Christ, the SONOF THE FATHER" (II Jn 3).

"If God were your Father, you would have loved Me. For OUT OF GOD I CAME FORTH and am arriving" (John 8:42).

"Nor Jesus said to him, Why are you terming Me good? No one is good except ONE, GOD" (Mark 10:18).

Above Jesus says why are you calling me good, only God is good which should tell us he is not God and doesn’t want to be called good since only God is good.
if Christ is "God," why isn’t He of the very same status, rank, authority, etc., as His Father? Is Christ God? He can be called God becuaes the works he works are coming from God the father and being worked through Jesus, the son but that does NOT make Him God,the FATHER.

Jesus never came out and said"I AM GOD" He always called Himself, "The Son OFGod." Jesus did not consider it "pillaging" to be equal with God. That is, he didn’t need to steal, or take His office by FORCE, because His God, the Father, GAVE ALL THINGS TO HIM FREELY.

Can anyone claim that someone GAVE God the Father all that He possesses? If you say yes and Since there is none higher than God, who gave God all he had? we have a "Father" and a "Son," NOT two equal Gods of a man made trinity.

Also Jesus always acknowledges His subjection to His Father:
"Jesus, being aware that the Father has GIVEN ALL INTO HIS HANDS, and that He came out FROM God and is going away TO God" (John 13:3).

"Now the Father, remaining in Me, He IS DOING HIS WORKS" (John14:10).
"And the word which you are hearing is NOT Mine, but the Father’s Who sends me" (John 14:24).

"I am going to the Father, forTHE FATHER IS GREATER THAN I"(John 14:28).

"Now, whenever all may besubjected to Him, THE SON HIMSELF ALSO SHALL BE SUBJECTED TO HIM Who subjects all to Him, that God may be All in all" (I Cor. 15:28).
The Father is GREATER than His Son, and the Son will ALWAYS be subjected to His Father. They are NOT two, coequal Gods of an unbiblical trinity. They are "Father and Son." When Christ speaks of the close relationship between Himself and His Father, He NEVER includes the"holy spirit" into that relationship

"I am the true Grapevine, andMy father is the Farmer... I am the Grapevine. You are the branches" (John 15:1 & 5).

The holy spirit is not mentioned in that verse. If the holy spirit were a third personality or god of the trinity, then why is it not mentioned in that verse and not only in that verse but in so many other verses as well?

I have to ask, If Jesus is the one God, when He died on the cross, WHO resurrected Him back to life?

If theFather, the Holy Spirit of God, and Jesus Christ are One inseparable God, then if either of the three were to die, ALL WOULD DIE. God the father who is not a man has never died.

If God is a trinity and the trinity itself DIED, then there would be no power to resurrect anyone andwe would be without any God today, If "God" (your trinity), DIED, then"God" died--ALL OF GOD DIED.

If trinity exist, why does Jesus Christ HAVE A GOD, yet the Father does not HAVE a God?

Jesus said he didn't need to "rob" God to be equal with Him. Why? Because theFather freely GAVE Jesus all that He had and possessed. Jesus had ALL powerand ALL authority and ALL judgment in heaven and earth. Were these things the natural possessions of Jesus seeing that He is supposedly a third equal part of this trinity? No, God GAVE Jesus all these things

There is no trinity. Trinity only exist in the mind of the carnal mind of man and his private false interpretation of scriptures.

It's hardly the only place that teaches the trinity.

Actually, it was added to the Latin Vulgate many years after the Vulgate had first been published, and this is why it is found in only some copies of the Vulgate. You make it sound as if this was the go-to passage in which the Trinity was established, but yet we know what the early Church councils believed, and nowhere do they cite or mention the words of 1 John 5.7 as they appear in the KJV.

Armstrong was Binitarian; however, this person is definitely Unitarian, and as seen from the references of Christ as man, is most likely of the Socinian camp.

The Bible is very clear that Jesus is God.
The Bible is very clear that the Father is God.
The Bible strongly suggests that the Holy Spirit is God.
The Bible is very clear that God is One.

^therefore the Bible teaches the Trinity.

No one understands the Trinity.
Therefore, understanding the Trinity is not a requirement for salvation.

The Bible doesn't use the word "Trinity", nor does it put a whole lot of emphasis on a triune relationship of God, and never in the context of salvation.
Therefore, believing in the Trinity is not needed for salvation(the same way believing in predestination is not needed)

But it is truth, and is helpful knowledge for a Christian, and should be taught to every disciple.

It does more than suggest, brother...

Wow....so much is wrong here, brother!

The Creator reveals Himself as Triune from Genesis to Revelation, and you think that it is not important for Salvation?

Come on...

1In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.

1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2The same was in the beginning with God. 3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

The word for God in Genesis 1:1 is Elohim

what is interesting about this word is that it is plural

what is even more interesting is that if it meant 2 it would be ElAhim (ahim means 2)

Therefore Elohim means at least 3

and that is THE VERY FIRST VERSE of the bible

Actualy, the word "Trinity" comes from the Latin noun "trinitas" meaning "three are one." The Trinity expresses the belief that God is one Being made up of three distinct Persons who exist in co-equal essence and co-eternal communion as the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The doctrine or concept of the Trinity is central to most Christian denominations and faith groups. Among churches that reject the doctrine of the Trinity are The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mormons), Jehovah's Witnesses, Christian Scientists, Unitarians, the Unification Church, the Christadelphians, and Oneness Pentecostals, as well as others. No matter how well you can explain to them, they will not accept it even if they know that is the truth.

But don't people want to see the truth??
Do you?

Then believe the NT word of God.

The NT states that Jesus is God:

1) Jesus is the YHWH of Isa 40:3 per Mt 3:3; Mk1:7-8; Lk 3:16; Jn 1:29-34.

2) Jesus is the YHWH of Joel 2:32 per Ro 10:9, 13-16.

3) Jesus is the YHWH of Dt 32:43 per Heb 1:6.

4) Jesus is the LORD (YHWH) of Zechariah per Lk 1:67-68, 76.

5) Jesus is the LORD (YHWH) of Elizabeth per Lk 1:41-43.

6) Jesus is the LORD GOD (YHWH) of Ps 68:18 per Eph 4:8-9.

7) Jesus is the LORD (YHWH) of Zec 12:8-10 per Jn 19:37.

8) Jesus is the LORD (YHWH) of Isa 61:8 per Lk 4:18-21.

9) Jesus is the LORD (YHWH), the First and Last of Isa 44:6, 48:12 per Rev 1:12-18.

10) Jesus is the Lord God, the Alpha and the Omega of Rev 21:6-7 per Rev 22:13-16.

11) Jesus is God on the throne of Rev 21:5, 7 per Jn 5:22, 27, 9:39; Rev 20:11-13.

12) Jesus is the Elohim Creator YHWH of Gen 1:1; Isa 44:24; and Jer 10:16 per Jn 1:3, 10;
Col 1:16-17; Heb 1:2, 10.

The NT states that the Holy Spirit is both a person and God:

1) Jesus, whom the NT shows to be God (above), said the Holy Spirit proceeded from
(came forth from, out of) God just as he did per Jn 15:26.

2) Jesus, who is God, said the Holy Spirit was another Comforter like himself (God) per Jn 14:16-17,
25-26, 15:26, 16:7.

3) The NT refers to the Holy Spirit with
personal pronouns (he),
personal titles (Comforter) and
personal functions (intelligence, will, speaking, deciding, forbidding, testifying, searching into secrets,
showing the future, sending out missionaries, interceding),
because he is a person.

Who do you believe, your untrue sources, or the whole NT word of God?

Here is another thing to ponder if it already hasn't been talked about....

In the bible it says something similar no man knows the day or hour, not angels, nor the Son but ONLY the Father.

Please explain to me this since the definition of who God is is all knowing please explain to me how Jesus can literally be God and NOT be all knowing?

Jesus DECLARES that God is greater than Himself. Who are you going to believe? Jesus or a doctrine that used to have people killed for not believing in it? Which kingdom needs murder to have "truth" accepted?

Not only that but Jesus does NOT need to be God in order for the sacrifice to work. Jesus is sinless and lived that sinless life and DIED an UNJUST penalty. He was the SACRIFICE through His obedience. THAT'S how Jesus can be perfect sinless lamb. It's not that He has to be God.

The bible teaches that there is one God and one Lord Jesus Christ. What is a Lord? It's a King. What are Kings? Some of them are appointed of God to fulfill such a role. Now please explain to me do you believe that Jesus was anointed to fulfill such a role as King of kings and Lord of lords?

Not only that but the bible also says that the head of woman is man and the head of man is Christ and the head of Christ is GOD. Please explain to me that verse if Jesus is God. Jesus wouldn't need God has His head of He was Him literally.

It's not a doctrine in order for someone to be saved to believe in. It's a doctrine of man.

John 5:20
By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.

Those are words of Jesus Christ or something similar it is a translation.

Jesus says that He can do NOTHING by Himself. So who does it? God working through Him.

As far as Jesus healing and doing signs and wonders that was God working through Him from the FAITH and BELIEVING in God's word that Jesus showed.

As far as the old testament references those have meat to them as well. If anyone has some in mind that they don't know about and need help in understanding if you want to message me feel free to. I wont bite. haha

Here is another thing to ponder if it already hasn't been talked about....

Jesus DECLARES that God is greater than Himself. Who are you going to believe? Jesus or a doctrine that used to have people killed for not believing in it? Which kingdom needs murder to have "truth" accepted?

The question then needs to be asked: who became Jesus, the man?

If the Angel of the Lord, who even called Himself God, is the One who speaks (the Word) for the Father, then perhaps, the Word awaits for the Father's command to come and get His children.

Just because He awaits to fulfill the Father's will according to His timing, does not negate the Son to be any less than God Himself when it is said of Him that He, the Word, is our Creator. When He accepted worship He forbad Satan. When the Father commanded the angels to worship the Son. When His name along says that God came to be amoungst us. When Revelation says that He receives praise and worship. When He Himself says that He is Lord of Sabbath.

Who became Jesus? And what did the Angel of the Lord say of Himself?

In the bible it says something similar no man knows the day or hour, not angels, nor the Son but ONLY the Father.

Please explain to me this since the definition of who God is is all knowing please explain to me how Jesus can literally be God and NOT be all knowing?
Scripture clearly states that Jesus is God. John 20:28 says, "And Thomas answered and said unto him [Jesus], My Lord and my God", Colossians 2:9 says "For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily", and 1 Timothy 3:16 says "...God was manifest in the flesh...". Jesus has two natures - a divine and human nature. At His incarnation He took on the form of a servant, was made lower than the angels, and He had to grow in wisdom thus during His earthly ministry He didn't know the timing of His coming. However, this does not mean He was not God. He was fully God and fully man simultaneously.

Jesus DECLARES that God is greater than Himself. Who are you going to believe? Jesus or a doctrine that used to have people killed for not believing in it? Which kingdom needs murder to have "truth" accepted?
But He was not denying His divinity rather was affirming His humanity. God the Father was greater than Jesus because Jesus humbled Himself taking on the likeness of men, yet remained fully God.
Phil 2:6-8
6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Sorry but that's illogical. The sinlessness of God the Son made Him the perfect sacrifice for sin. No one else on earth was sinless and righteous to atone for sin because the fall marred the entire human race thus as scripture says, all have sinned.

Not only that but the bible also says that the head of woman is man and the head of man is Christ and the head of Christ is GOD. Please explain to me that verse if Jesus is God. Jesus wouldn't need God has His head of He was Him literally.
The verse is alluding to the human nature of Jesus. In His deity He is equal to the Father but in His humanity, under the authority of the Father. Nevertheless, He is God.

It's not a doctrine in order for someone to be saved to believe in. It's a doctrine of man.
Denying the divinity of Christ is grave error.

Here is another thing to ponder if it already hasn't been talked about....

Don't need to.

The NT clearly states that Jesus is God (post #151, above) and

the NT clearly states that Jesus did not know.

It's up to you to decide if you believe the word of God written, or not.

Jesus DECLARES that God is greater than Himself. Who are you going to believe?
I'm going to believe the revelation spoken by the Son in these last days (Heb 1:1-2), given through the writers of the NT.

The issue is simply belief or unbelief.

Not only that but Jesus does NOT need to be God in order for the sacrifice to work.
It's not about Jesus needing to be God, it's simply about Jesus being God, and the revelation
of the One and Triune God.

The NT clearly states that Jesus is God (see post #151, above).

And one's response to the NT word of God is either belief or unbelief.

John 14
Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.24Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.
These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

Do your mouth, your voice, know what words to say ...until what is in charge of your mouth
(your mind your head***)tells you what to speak?

1 Cor 11
3But I want you to realize
that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man,
and the head *** of Christ is God.

So who are they talking about in this verse?.
1 John 5: 7.
" For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
NOTE: at the last part of the scripture? " And these three are one "

How clear do you want it? However I don't know why I'm posting, the op has been banned. But here is something else that may help you or anyone understand about the TRINITY. http://christianchat.com/bible-discussion-forum/75477-trinity-two-minutes.html

Yahchanan (John) 14:28, "You have heard that I told you: I go away, but come again to you. If you loved Me, you would have rejoiced that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I."
