Who has the keys, God or mankind?

So in Christ I am secure, anyone else, or do you have to go out and work hard to prove it? I did not know salvation depended on mankind. If it does the demand is perfection, and so if anyone has sinned just once. no matter if then corrected we are lost and pitied of all people

Perfection is to be perfect from birth till death, then you can enter heaven as perfect. then there is one other way, cur off the hand that has sinned, out the tongue that has lied, gouge the eyes that have lusted. Shall I go on?

Even after all these posts, many of them stating both salvation correctly which is different than attaining eternal life, you still have a gross misunderstanding of what scripture teaches.

As it is portrayed and explained, a believer does NOT have guaranteed eternal security.

In all the texts that deal with attaining eternal life are written in the present tense, active, continuing.
The best a beleiver has is present assurance that he is abiding in Christ. This is why the believer is asked to test himself to know that he is still abiding. Our life in this world is a test of ones faith. why would God guarantee anyone eternal life upon a one moment affirmation of faith?

Man was created to work with God in this life in this world. Man was created good, but not perfect. Man is supposed to work with God to perfect himself into a human being that is Christ's Likeness. That takes a lot of effort because we are also being pummeled by Satan and our flesh to succumb to sin which draws us away from Christ.
OSAS is a direct denial of God's purpose in creating man and then Christ redeeming man from death and sin so God and man could be perfected through a living relationship with Him.

Hebrews 9:14 how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

I just plain and simply do not view the work of love as work to me as what did when I did it for rewards, Do not do it for a reason now, I do it in response to the amazing love of God by Christ, thank you for all your posts
 
Departure of the Faith ! 4


The scripture teaches that God's Power is a preserving power 1 Pet 1:5,4

5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

The means by which they are kept through Faith is by the Power of God. The Word Power is the greek word dunamis:


might, power, marvelous works
Definition: (a) physical power, force, might, ability, efficacy, energy, meaning (b) plur: powerful deeds, deeds showing (physical) power, marvelous works.

Its withing the efficacy of the Divine energy that they are Kept through Faith !

To make it plain, Faith depends upon the Power of God. Thats why Jesus prayed to His Father that Peter's Faith fail not, because He knew the Father's ability would keep it from failing !

That word fail Lk 22:32

32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

That word means cease, come to an end , to stop.

Thats Christ's Intercessory Prayer for all Believers !

Also, who are the persons Peter says that are kept by the Power of God ?

They are those described in 1 Pet 1:2-3, 23

2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

They are those who have been supernaturally begotten again to a Living Hope by the Resurrection of Christ from the dead a Heavenly Inheritance that is likewise being reserved for them, So God keeps them by His Power and Might that they will come into the Enjoyment of the Inheritance being kept for them.

Remember what Jesus will say to these Blessed Ones come Judgment Day Matt 25:34

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit [ 1Pet 1:4]the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

The Lord as with Paul does this 2 Tim 4:18

18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Now all the True Believers as Paul here have the assurance that they are being kept or preserved unto the Heavenly Kingdom like those of Matt 25:34.

Also their entire and final sanctification is secure 1 Thess 5:23-24

23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

All these things are Solely ensured upon the Power and Faithfulness of God !94
