It was a tad sudden. And exemptions should have been put in place for those previously cleared. I'll be honest. I was surprised that the sweep was this broad this quickly. But I also don't know how else it could have been done without alerting the ill-intentioned. I'm thinking it'll be sorted out soon.

Curtail all undocumented travelers and give 24-hours notice. (That means, if you already landed, you won't get detained and require a lawyer. It also means if you were planning on getting on a plane in Damascus later on that day, you know that's just stupid to take that chance.) That let's the ones who already have the go-ahead (were vetted) to continue on with their lives. Sure, anyone who was planning a vacation in the US from those countries would have had their plans canceled. So what? Vacations get screwed up sometimes. And someone probably missed a sister's wedding. Someone else might have missed seeing their first grandchild. So what? It's not the end of the world. This is only for four months. By the end of that time, there would have been more permanent safeguards put in place.

What irks me is these are people who were already vetted. They were checked out. We're not letting in 10,000 refugees in because it seems like the nice thing to do, where, in fact, 10% of them are terrorist. I really get it's good in the long run, but to dictate this without even thinking out the ramifications? We've just notified the world we aren't to be trusted about anything! We broke our word at least a few hundred times in one day. And that's just the cases that made it to the news.

It could have been a narrower sweep, if he bothered listening to the people who actually understood the ramifications. There really are lots of people working in D.C. who know what they're doing, and they aren't elected or appointed. He could be listening to them.

green cards, passports and rights get yanked every day in every country...we are not obligated to receive anyone from another country.....it is a privilege to be allowed into this country...not a RIGHT......

Do they get yanked for no particular reason? It is a privilege to come to this country. Those that have those green cards earned the right. They get yanked when they prove they abused the right.

My list was of Muslim countries that have no temporary ban. Looking back, I don't think I worded it well. The point is, there are lots of Muslims nations that are not banned, because they do not have ISIS.

This is not about racism or religious discrimination. It is about putting in place better systems to catch terrorists who might want to come into the country, and do serious damage.

I could only wish our boy king would do the same. But I guess he will never ban his "own" people, will he?

Yep. Already reading that UK passport holders with duel nationality will be allowed in, too many stories running with angry celebs and politicians all getting angry that they will not be allowed in to the USA.

Also wonder if the countries he listed have been highlighted in the secuirty meetings he has had. Next lot of terrorists recruited in these countries just because of the reason no one commiting the terror attacks have. ever come from those places before.

No doubt....Are you privy to all the info, intel and information that is available to President Trump?....NO...so........and SO WHAT....in the case of national security for ME and all I know....with Nuclear weapons, Weaponized Biological weapons, Numerous lethal as crap explosives and just the willingness to cut ones head off with a pocket KNIFE....we SHOULD realize and take the safest possible steps to ensure our safety...and I will add.....Have you signed up and are willing to accept refugees from Syria into your home? I don't really buy the excuse that it helps recruit terrorism. They are pretty able to do that no matter what we do. It has a lot more to do with Islam than it does with America or even the larger West. You just watch some of their imams in their own countries and languages on MemriTV and its kinda obvious.

Though let's just pretend and suppose it did encourage them to recruit more. Well, then it's all in vain cause they ain't coming here no more.
