The US capital is every US citizen's business. There should be no "Home Rule". I support President Trump 100% in cleaning up the entire district.
I'd support him more if he actually got off his butt and did something about the root of the problem. He likes busy work that makes it looks like he's doing something heroic when in fact he's just sweeping the dirt under the rug.

Oh, you must have missed it, nine months ago the US elected Donald Trump to be president, he brings a unique managerial style to the Whitehouse which includes cutting billions from the US budget with DOGE, dropping MOAB's on Iran, increasing tariffs to ridiculous levels on just about every nation, empowering ICE to deport people by the thousands, and most recently open investigations for prosecution on Democrats like Adam Schiff, Hillary Rodham Clinton and Barack Obama. Hopefully the National Guard is simply a preventative measure should their be some pushback when tens of thousands lose their jobs and many others are either deported or prosecuted. However, there is a chance that this is simply a dress rehearsal for implementing a national emergency and martial law when the US dollar collapses.
Do you remember that doge guy who calls himself "big balls?" He got carjacked by a couple juvenile delinquents, so Donald thought he needed to bring in the guard.

And thus is the hidden problem in that because of AI an OS like Tails(think security not Hacking) was compromised in January 2025. So just like the time came when we no longer have land lines but instead smart phones we are at the point where most of our devices are about to become dinosaurs and needs to be replaced. For instance a Celeron 900 cpu with 4096 mb ram wont run very many very secure OS'es so it may still be in good working order and outdated junk at the same time. Because of AI there is no such thing as surfing anonymous anymore. I give it two years and the internet will require a much more expensive device and much more advanced browsers to be secure.
Most people would agree something needs to be done about crime in DC. But Donald is using this as a pretext for an authoritarian takeover. I don't live in DC, I don't know what steps need to be taken to make it safer; but I do know the National Guard isn't the answer. Do they plan to keep them there indefinitely? That's hardly a solution. If Donald was any kind of leader he'd work with others to find a more reasonable and sustainable solution. But he's no leader at all, just an authoritarian bully who likes pushing people around.
