His educated opinion is that what we are seeing is covert civil defense prep, they are anticipating massive civil unrest and protests and they are front running that. I agree with his assessment, though, like everyone else not privy to the mind of Donald Trump, this is simply an educated guess. I suspect the civil unrest in South Dakota has nothing to do with ICE picking up illegals and deporting them. It could be due to a sudden devaluation of the currency, or it could be due to some other imminent event that Trump knows is coming.

Because he creates an image of a situation that is much worse than it really is in order to let it rain down law enforcement and military personnel wherever it pleases him. I’m saying this as a naval officer and a former police officer. It’s not anywhere near the truth that this is the “good news” to any of us.

What’s next? Vigilante law enforcement and local militias. Might as well start building gallows in DC like they do in Iran. Oh, sorry, silly me, they use mobile cranes in Iran. I guess someone will pick up that idea pretty soon.

Thanks for the reply. I had recalled you were law enforcement and military and wanted your perspective.

I guess we'll see where this all goes. From my old man perspective having grown up in simpler times, although most of us can think through precedence and the reasons we don't militarize our streets, at this point something needs to be done IMO.
 
Call them up, walk them around and let them learn. Stand them down, let the people relax and absorb what they learned. Tell them all there's trillions of imaginary foes to root out so they continue on with the day to day like they understand what your doing. Rotate them out, call up another group,walk them around and let them learn. Stand them down, call another group up until the people say good morning to them and the two fit together like a glove. Make them both convinced they were so smart they never needed anyone to train them in the first place.
 
Condition them to think criminality is OK. Send in the troops to train them it's not. Every 4 years be subject to different ideologies. Build it up. Burn it down. Build it up, let it know the troops are in the background. A smaller force required to keep it from burning. See if burns down again. We used to keep the burn it down groups at bay and raise them in more mass without the idiot mentality.
