That is a bit extreme and don't think the we have gone that draconian yet. It does not help right now that the yield curve is still inverted. Not as bad as it was as long term yields are a matter of points higher depending on the debt instrument. However, for me personally I still find the short term yields better even if a few points lower, the shorter time frame I have to keep my money locked up is a big advantage. Which I am not alone there as we can go look at the Treasury auctions and see real time how investors are preferring short term with the present yield and shorter time frames.
The last few years from what I have been watching has had a higher rate that they have had to reauction. TIPS have been hit the hardest with reauctions. Which was understandable a couple years back as a I Bond just had the math to show it was a better deal.
I don't have the numbers off the top of my head but has been more special auctions than I recall in the past. However, you worked on the street so you know that is not open to the public but to the big banks.
I think we will see what Trump and his Treasury Dept really have in mind to combat the high debt once the short term rates return to normal and the long term rates come down. I think we can count on him bouncing Powell once his term is up and finding a chair who has more of his vision.

Tell that to Cuomo who was given the "gold standard" by Fauci because he sent infected people back into retirement homes. Tell that to the Georgia Guidestones which said 500 million people was the ideal global population. Tell that to Grok, it was given a task to do and decided the best way to accomplish it was to blackmail the manager.
China's correct population count I agree is not accurate. Newsweek ran an article about this last year. As well as transcripts of defector's as well as folks who have escaped there have said the same that the population count is not accurate. Which it will get worse because what till 2015 they kept their one child policy intact which is leaving them with a severe shortage of women for men to marry.
Thereby effecting their ability to replace their current population. Everything I have seen on them has them losing population year over year from now to 2100.
Cuomo and a lot of people in charge I just find I never chalk up to conspiracy when it is plainly the fault of their incompetence. I agree with Jefferson to paraphrase him here, the problem with elected government will be that the individuals most qualified for the job will have enough sense to not want it.
The guide stones they are going to have to compete with God as he is pretty plain once the book is opened by Christ it is God who is going to wipe out foretold percentages of the worlds population.
