I've been reticent about sharing what I am about to write.
I'm going to try to be brief so this is more than an outline than an essay.
So, I worked in the Behavioral Health system for over 20 years, first as a clinician and them as a CEO. I left the field in 2019 (on good terms) for a number of reasons, one of which was the lack of wisdom about addiction and mind-altering medications. The Lord told me I was primarily placed there, within the field, to learn about people.
1) Humans are created with the need for their spirit to be connected to God. This is the hard-wiring of our model. No person is the exception.
2) Because of the sin nature, humans are motivated to preserve themselves . Even seemingly altruistic behavior may be an impulse to create a legacy or a name that extends a person's relevance beyond their physical life.
3) Regarding illegal drugs and some medications: the molecules of both block or reroute neuropathways. This seems elementary until you realize that some of those pathways are responsible for reason. Consequently,
the drugs put people into a fugue state where a loss of personal awareness and identity are common.
Think of mind-fugue like wet cement. In this case, it's like a semi-solid foundation becoming pliable under the influence of drugs. It's not unlike sand or earth becoming "liquefied" by vibrations from earth quakes.
The same thing often occurs during trauma: Trauma-Induced Dissociation. In such a state, people can typically be easily directed or ordered around. This is helpful in getting them away from danger. Fear may also trigger a temporary pliable mind where rudimentary principles of fight or flight are enhanced.
In the fugue-state, humans are susceptible to outside influence. Now, take principle 1 above and combine that with a mind in fugue and the influence of the demonic. This thing is, after the shaking stops or the medication is discontinued (sometimes without the oversight of a physician)
what was deposited in the pliable mind becomes set within it as a mind-set.
This is the real danger of illegal drugs and mind-altering medications (and fear-based political messages): mind-sets influenced by the demonic or the demonically-minded.
Gotta run. I can add more later if this is interesting.
