1st covenant ......The Law given to Israel thru Moses
2nd covenant......Grace given to all Christ came for .
The 1st was the Law and what Israel was to keep, work and do. They failed and God was not pleased with them and most perished in the wilderness.
Just before he died Moses he gathered the leaders of the people and said "For I know that after my death ye will utterly corrupt yourselves from the way I have commanded you . Evil will befall you in the latter days, because you do evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke him to anger through the WORKS OF YOUR HANDS. Deut 31:29 Much the same today.
The 2nd was of Grace brought to us by Christ who came to fulfill the Law and bring Grace to all he choose. We are not under the law but under Grace Romans 6:14
You who want to be under the Law insisting that we must keep the Law to find favor with God.
"For as many as are under the works of the law are under the curse"....Gal 3:10
"Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law.............Gal 3:13
You want to do the work of God? "This is the work of God, that you believe on him who he sent"....John 6:29
The new covenant is the covenant of Grace, not of our useless works. Christ came and kept the law perfectly so we can rest from our works and trust in his.
You who want to keep his commandments, this is the commandment we are to keep............"And this is his commandment, that we should believe on the name of his son and love one another"............1st John 3:23
Believe that his son gives ETERNAL life and has completed all the works of the Law and rest in him and his finished work, and love the brethren.
You want to do the will of God? " In every thing give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1st Thess 5:18
Keep his commandment and believe he has done it all, gives eternal life, and love the breather. He is God almighty and his name is Jesus Christ the Lord.............Give him all the thanks, glory and praise due his name, trust him and live. There are many false and wrong doctrines in the world today. The true gospel is found only in the Lord Jesus
