A lot of people judge when the person has autism and it makes the person even more quiet.

If we could all learn to treat others how we want to be treated that would be a blessing.
yes amen, that would be awesome but most of my life I feel judged about it, that I'm too quiet all the time.

My son has aspergers and so weary at times of people of trying to help them understand . Many try and categorize them into the movie rain man. Here is a video that maybe helpful...

Oh boy. People can be cruel when all they have is a movie reference.

Here's a better movie and books for those who relate to movies.

Having worked with animals and gone through a similar college of agriculture, I found her story very interesting.

"I could share my thoughts here, but it might well be detrimental to the minds
of those that are bent on their path of illusional scripture dialog with 'worldly analyzes'
proclaiming great intellectual insight, but greatly lacking spiritual wisdom."

"Perhaps the 'scripture scholars' should allow
~Matthew 18:3~ to become known of great significance,
that many cannot grasp due to the ego syndrome."

I know its tough and frustrating, but have grace for the ignorant. They truly don't know and do not mean to offend. Understand that you have a unique situation that is nearly impossible for those who don't have similar life experience to comprehend.
Grace and peace be with you.

I first saw Rain Man this year but I dont think it represents every single person with autism or aspergers.
I dont think parents have to keep explaining their childs behaviours all the time with labels. Sometimes people just want to be themselves as unique individuals without actually having a label/diagnoses put on them

In any given population, there is bound to be different abilities, personalities and ages and stages and theres probably challenges everyone is going to face at one time or another.

I guess what im saying is people arent just black and white. People come in all colours.

I am autistic and the main problem is that there is nothing to see. As it is a neurological disability you can't sit down in a group and it is obvious. I have an I.Q. of 140 which again can be a problem as one can trot out knowledge with your eyes shut and because you show an air of confidence people are thinking "who does he think he is." Confidence comes from knowing as opposed to not knowing so we do not need to guess as others do.

Our areas of interest are restricted to what we know. If we haven't studied a subject, we will stay quiet as we are not into opinions, If we have studied a subject we have studied, not just for an evening. I can study for two years before I enter into a discussion about a subject.

I admit that a lot of the stuff on here bores me as it is very clear what is being said is just that person's opinion and it is clear they have never studied the subject they are just repeating what they have heard. For example, someone said that scientists believe the earth is 4.3 billion years old. He has obviously read that somewhere. I have numerous books on evolution and what scientists believe so I informed the writer that the latest from scientists is 14.3 billion years old. We have an eye for detail.

One thing I have learned from those who are specialists working with Autism is that if you want the autistic person to change, forget it. They can't because they have no control over it. You have to change to accommodate their way of thinking and actions. Being involved in something like this is a lifesaver for those with autism because I don't interact with society much because I can't be bothered with having to explain myself all the time.

So pleased to hear that. Especially as the autistic person cannot say "Hello, my name is Bill. I am an autistic person" because in all probability the person hearing that would have no idea what it means.

How true. We are all different too. Regardless of the label, every person is unique with strengths and comparative weaknesses in every area.

Example, I recently was reminded of one of King David's sons. Absalom was physically considered the most attractive ladies man in the kingdom. He was very vain and had the long hair and flawless skin. That became his downfall. He became very wicked and tried to kill his dad to steal the kingdom. As a king's son, he had everything going for him opportunities more than any, but he was spiritually a mess. His life was short as he got his hair caught in a tree. He was filled with arrows while hanging from the tree. Anyhow, that wasn't for you. I went off on a tangent because I was reminded of this personal lesson I learned on the subject recently and thinking out loud.
