Dear all,

First of all sorry for my English writing, I'm Dutch:).

I saw Gods light about one year ago.Since that time I try to live by the Lord's Word more and more as I study the Bible.
Now I have the following 'problem'. I was already in a relationship with a man, which I really love, before I discoverd God and his love. I try to live by Gods Word but my friend I'm in a relationship with does not. He says he believes in himself. I think that's because he has a bad youth.
I find it very hard to live with the idea that he might never see the Light and will continue to live like he does now (which includes wanting birth control, getting married later and different values)
What should I do? How can I show him the Lord wants to have a relationship with him and that he loves him? Or should I trust on the Lord is this case?

Have a blessed day

If I was in that situation, I would constantly pray for a friend like that. And hopefully that God would reveal that very same light to them as it was revealed to you.

The Jesus/ the Bible says do not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever (2 Corinthians 6:14-18). "14 Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness? 15 What agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, 18 and I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." This and how can darkness mix with the light. Your most closely held beliefs are centered around God now and He can never understand that unless he is of the glorious kingdom of light.

The fact there is doubt in your mind as to the future of the relationship over this, tells me 'as an unbeliever' to ditch you on the basis of an unstable relationship ahead and for trying to build it on the hope I'd convert.

If you can't live with the idea, don't do it and especially don't do it if you don't accept them for who they are.

i had a similar experience at the time i was rescued , in my case a godly woman told me not to marry him but that i should pray for him to accept Jesus even i never told her what was going on. tell him u were shown the Light , tell him how he can be saved ,but if after that he keeps on believing in himself you'd better stay away from him. God does know u love him and wants him to be saved (even more than u wish it! imagine it) but it doesnt mean u can be unequally yoked with him as Brandon said , God's plan for u may...or may not include him. if he didnt accept Jesus now, pray for him, but pray for his salvation in the first place, not that u may be together , pray for God's will to be done.
